The reqiuem of perfection(Vexus and Talons only)

Andrew walked into his dorm steaming. He was at the end of his wits with his girlfriend. He was kind, romantic, and loved her. Time and time again, he fell for her, only for her to let him hit the ground harder and harder. He threw his backpack at his wall, and collapsed into his chair. He loved his job as a hero. Sometimes he just questioned why he was able to save lives every day, yet he couldn't save himself from these feelings. "What more can I do? How far can I go?" These questions ran through his head.

Then his dogtags went off. It was Deluge. Phoenix was instructed to go to the Thiels mansion for a mission. He wondered what the plans were for. He picked up his dogtags and then pressed the button on them. "Phoenix to Deluge. Got your message, on my way now."

Andrew walked into his room, and and threw his shirt off, pants off, and tore open his closet. He pulled the hanging clothes aside to reveal a small safe in the back. He opened the safe and took out his Phoenix attire. He then took the Katana hanging on his wall. Once fully clothed, and battle ready. He prepared to leave. He looked down on his desk to see NightRaven's guns. The memory of killing him that usually upset Phoenix didn't seem to phase him in his fury. He put the guns in his waist band, and put a combat knife in his right boot. "Showtime"
Phoenix hopped out his window, and rolled once he hit the ground.

He started running rooftop to rooftop to reach the mansion. Letting off some steam in stride. His gentle, light- brown eyes, seemed almost black tonight. It would not be a good idea to get in his way this evening. "Phoenix to Deluge, I'm coming up to the rendezvous point. I'll be there in about 3 minutes." He kept running and leaping from the buildings in the city, until he reached his destination. He leaped off the last roof and stood in front of the estate looking around for Talons. "Deluge I'm here" he said as he pushed the button on his communicator.

Elena Vexus had heard about the recent passing of Ms. Elena Marie, with them being partners for a short time she felt that they may of had some unfinished business. She had received a message with had called her back to Marie's house. Before hand, Elena had a couple of expensive errands to run. First, she flew out to her secret hideout at her home in Germany in order to update her systems. Following, she flew to India in order to install a very specific and lengthy program in the Quantum Computer that Nightkill and her had built earlier.With that work finished, Vexus headed to the Thiels Mansion to retrieve some information for herself. This little mission of hers was off the books so she traveled in an unmarked vehicle which she hid once she arrived. There were quite a few security systems that the house had, which she found rather impressive. Whatever they had in this house it was well worth protecting, though leaving the house unattended to was Ms. Marie's first mistake.
Elena was easily able to make her way into the mansion, the difficult part was going to be finding where she had hidden all of her information. Since she knew that Marie was dead, she factored in the possibility that this was a trap and used a rear entrance. After entering, Vexus rewired the security system. She made it so that she would be alerted if anyone else entered the estate but kept the alarm on so that it seemed like the system had not been tampered with. Since she had received a message from this location, she wondered why the security system was still on, Elena assumed it to be some form of magic and continued on. Using her infrared vision she was able to find a number of secret areas in the mansion and figured she would look though all of them, hopefully wherever she would find these secrets there would be a more challenging encryption. She was hoping the security on this place would have been noteworthy, but was viciously disappointed.
She approached the first room, but stopped before she touched the door handle, her infrared vision picked up another body. The heat signature was familiar but whoever it was she had not analyzed completely the last time she saw them causing her data to be incomplete. Now knowing she was not alone she slipped out the back way that she came and made her way to the front. While on her way she made a call out and placed a call for backup to arrive as soon as possible, she sent her coordinates and they said they were on their way. She also moved one of her guns from her abdomen section to between her skirt and shirt so that she could reach it more quickly. Once she reached the main entrance of the mansion, she simply walked through the front doors and saw the man she had spotted earlier sitting on one of the chairs. Her heels echoed through the vaulted ceilings of the establishment as she made her way close to the man.
"Hello Deluge... Or may I call you Sean?" she said as the doors closed behind her.
The situation so far was not leaning in her direction. He was most likely the one who had sent out the message and would know that she'd arrive. After their little meeting some time ago, she did a bit of a background check on the Talons learning that Sean here was the daughter of the infamous Elena Marie. She knew that he was a powerful individual, but he was quite literally the last person she had expected to be here. Suddenly she picked up an incoming transmission
"Phoenix to Deluge,I'm coming up to the rendezvous point. I'll be there in about 3 minutes."
Elena turned and looked at the door and began running hundreds of thousands of escape strategies, none of them seemed to end very well. Her reinforcements were not to arrive for a while yet and she had two revenge driven Talons on her hands. She had three minutes.
"So, Mr. Collins, it does perplex me as to the reason you might be here. Information on your mother possibly? What we may have been planning...? In a different world, this may just be an interesting coincidence and you just chose this location in order to rest after carting that large backpack around..."
She walked around the reception area, memorizing its dimensions and every aspect she could. She kept her hands crossed behind her back concealing her weapon in case she had to turn her back to him.
"Or, you could simply be driven by vengeful motives..." she said as her eyes met his. She was a an arms length from a lam roughly her height and a few feet from a chair and a small coffee table with a decorative candle placed on it.
"If it is revenge you are looking for, I promise you that doing me in would not be the wisest selection. You have number of plays you can make here and I assure you that I would prove much more useful alive..."
Maybe she could bargain her way out? The man was filled with rage, she could see it in his eyes. The information she had on him was helpful yes, but she needed more time to twist in around in order to mold things into a situation favorable to her.
One minute, twenty three seconds...
"Being who I am I have a wealth of knowledge surpassing the greatest of this worlds scholars. Not only on topics of relevance to the rest of society, but even to you Sean..." Vexus now stood directly across the room from Sean in front of the chair and equal distance from the lamp and candle.
Thirty-two seconds.
"Please... Deluge, Sean... Don't you want to know the truth?..."
Fifteen...
Vexus paused for three seconds. Twelve. She grabbed the lamp and gave it a little juice by running some of her own power into it and threw it like a spear at Deluge. Seven. Following, she grabbed her stomach and twisted it hard and in an unnatural looking way forcing all of the cyanide in the container in her abdomen up and out. Vexus doused the walls, floor and doors with the extremely toxic liquid reached for the candle and threw it on the flammable liquid setting the room a blaze. The flames were an unusually dark color due to the poison and the smoke given off was very dark. The fumes were highly toxic and could kill fast, knowing Sean as a water manipulator the flames and gas would most likely be dealt with quickly so she made a run for it. Phoenix had arrived, but may be redirected to cover a different exit point to further prevent her escape. She drew her gun and kept running.
Vexus' thought process was as follows; She had to assume that Phoenix could figure that Vexus would make a break to furthest exit from the front because he would have to run around the house completely to reach it, however due to the leader's speed compared to her own they would most likely arrive at the same time. She could go for the exit nearest thinking that he may go for the first scenario, but if he figured the same thing then he may be there waiting for her. Now, if she went for the exit in the middle, he would arrive before her but not by too much... Regardless her best bet was the furthest exit...
Her reinforcements were not going to make it on time and with how her calculations were turning out she was running out of time as well...

Phoenix was out front of the mansion awaiting a response for Sean when suddenly the house went ablaze. "What the fuck!" he thought to himself thinking only the worst. He was still angry, and now scared for his friend. He assumed Deluge was in there and he needed to get him out. He took one last glance around for any signs of Talons, and started dashing at the estate full steam ahead.

The front of the house was on fire so Phoenix wouldn't be walking through the front door. He approached the side of the mansion and leaped into the wall with all his speed and might. Crashing through it like it was a drywall, he rolled into the room. Once inside he turned to see the sprinklers and fire both going strong. "Sean!" he screamed as he saw blood coming from his good friend's nose. He quickly turned to a see a familiar face. And he felt an anger come over him he hadn't ever experienced. Phoenix was already in a bad mood, and seeing this woman again didn't help the cause. His blood boiled, and his eyes seemed to turn darker. He started manipulating the fire in the room. It traveled up his arms and around his neck. "I'm going to give you 1 minute to explain what is going on here. After that, you'll see a side of me you never would know existed after out last encounter." He turned to Sean "Are you ok?' he said angrily, taking the katana off his back.

Elena had already been on her way out of the room when Phoenix decided to burst through a wall. She didn't think twice to turn and look because she knew she had to get out of there. However, Vexus heard Phoenix call out Sean's name in a very distressed tone. About to turn the corner to make her escape, she looked to see that Sean's nose was bleeding. If he had inhaled the toxins he only had a couple minutes at the most. The hot headed leader was greatly enraged by his partner taking damage, fire was brought up on his arms and around his neck.
I'm going to give you one minute--
Is all Vexus decided to listen to because sixty seconds was all she needed right now as she went off in a mad sprint down the hall. Knowing the man's ability she knew that he would be able to catch her no problem. So in order to better keep her distance she began releasing her neuro-toxin as she ran down the hall in a thick smog. She turned another corner and continued on to the furthest most exit. Phoenix would have to find another way to her if he wanted to keep the feeling in his body. Not only was the poison very potent but it was also combustible, so if he tried to rid the air of it with his fire it would simply explode right back in his face infecting him anyways. If these kids wanted her dead they would have to try a lot harder than this. Vexus contacted her back up again and told them to put a rush on the situation, elaborating that her life was at stake now. Even though she did not think that the situation would escalate to such a level she knew that would get them moving because if she was dead then they wouldn't have anyone to sign their checks...

"I'm on it!" Phoenix said as he dashed down the hallway at full speed. People often overlooked that fact he could run 80 miles per hour, so he used this to his advantage. As he came the the end of the hallway he turned to face Elena and quickly fired a large wave of fire, back both by rage and adrenaline. Next, he fired a barrage of fireballs at the robot.

He was in full fight mode, ready to take any challenge head on. He made a tight fist, and rushed at the cyborg. Throwing a cornucopia of full strength punches at the robot's face and stomach. He followed up with a bicycle kick towards her head. Once he landed, he did a double back handspring and was standing next to Sean. "I may be the leader of The Talons... but this is your mission. I can't tell exactly why, but I know this important to you. You call the shots on this one buddy. Also, I see a look in your eye i've never seen before, what are you planning here Deluge?"

Vexus brought herself to an unexpected halt when she saw Phoenix cut her off at the end of the hall way. She started to back in the other direction when the hero sent a blazing wall of fire at her. Elena jumped and leaned forward protecting herself as much as she could. When the wall hit it knock her backwards onto her feet, she stumbled back a bit her systems alerting of the sever burns her exterior had sustained. The damage was healing, but it would not be fast enough. The fire mage was continuing with a fierce fire ball attack, Vexus cursed under her breath as her targeting system was brought into effect. They were incoming fast and she knew that she would not be able to defend herself from all of them.
Measuring the heat levels with her infrared vision she knew that she could not take more than one hit in a single spot. The first she punched out with her right hand, melting her fist down to the wire. Following dodged one by ducking, the next two she blocked with her right then left forearm. Both of which took heavy damage exposing the intricate wiring in her arms. Seeing the few that were incoming, she turned around and took one to the back which allowed to knock her to the ground. Two more of the fire balls flew over her head while she was on the ground. Vexus quickly brought herself back to her feet but saw that Phoenix was right on top of her. She blocked a couple of his punches with her already damaged arms causing them to break off at the middle of her forearm. Vexus was taking steps back as her face took the full on force of 5 punches, there would have been seven but she was able to dodge a couple. He then moved onto her abdomen and resumed the onslaught, while he was so close to her she coughed up a cloud of her neuro toxin in his face making it look like it was a reaction to him demolishing her with punches. Following right after she got an extremely powerful kick connecting with her jaw. You could hear the crunch of her teeth breaking each other down, the snap of her neck as the back of her head touch her spin and the tearing of skin as her exterior layer around her neck ripped as it had been stretched too far.
Vexus lay on the floor with her head bent back at an unnatural angle, multiple dents and area were her body had caved in from the onslaught of attacks she had just received. Elena only needed a moment so that at least one of her hands would be reconstructed so she could stand back up and retaliate. Her right hand had returned the fastest so she pushed herself up. Her Sensor Apparatus had kicked in so now was as good as a time to make a dramatic move. Vexus flicked her head back onto her shoulders where it locked back into place. Elena flicked her right hand forward and shot five tiny needles from the tips of her fingers filled with her neuro toxin at Phoenix, she then repeated the same with her left but since that hand was not completely repaired, you could see the mechanisms of the needles being created, filled with the poison, and shot out. Following she ran at the two letting the same neruo toxin flow out of her mouth but in a gas form. Vexus had retrieved a gun from the weapons storage in her abdomen in mid stride and began firing at the two. With her infrared and Ultraviolet vision active she was searching for exits and analyzing her opponents. She was looking to see if her toxins had taken effect, she did not see anything in Phoenix yet but there were some strange occurrences within Sean. From what Elena could see, they were not of her doing which made her wonder. If she could get them with just the slightest amount of her poison she would be able to make it out or at least buy enough time for her reinforcements to arrive. Vexus was banking on that help to get here in time, she knew how powerful these two were and she would only be able to hold them off for so long...

Phoenix fell back as the toxin shot from Vexus hit him with a direct face shot. He rolled back and stood up. He stared irate at Elena as he felt the toxin working it's way through his body. Suddenly he felt his heart pound. Grabbing his chest, he felt his body go numb. He looked up at the cyborg to see her pull out a gun and blast it at Phoenix. It landed a hit to his leg, and arm, as he rolled he couldn't feel the pain of the gunshots.

Phoenix screamed in anger at the robot. He created perhaps the largest and most powerful construct he ever had of fire. It was a Phoenix around him of fire, and 2 smaller Phoenix's were made on either side of the large one. Phoenix prepared to launch all 3 at the robot and finish this fight, however his whole body seemed to freeze. He went crashing to the floor and the fire subsided around him. He fought with all his might and was able to make it to his feet once more, he took two step towards Elena and went crashing down once more. He looked up at Sean. It seemed pure rage was inside him now. Those were not the eyes of his close friend. "Deluge, don't kill her!" he screamed from the floor. "It's not worth it man, just immobilize her."

”Lets see you heal from this bitch.”
he heard Deluge say and Phoenix knew there was no stopping it. He couldn't move to stop his friend from making a mistake. He felt helpless. "Deluge, as your friend, not even leader, I'm telling you. You'll regret this" Phoenix had done all he could to try and stop his buddy from making a grave mistake, the rest was up to destiny. Phoenix gave on last final burst of energy into standing up, however he over exhausted his body, and his face slammed into the floor, rendering him out cold.

Vexus could only smile manically when she sawa that her poison had caught hold of the young hero. Her first sign was that he barely reacted to getting hit by her bullets. He should probably get those tended to soon, without any pain his body won't know that something is wrong and in turn won't fix it. Following he geared up for a powerful attack. At first Vexus was very surprised that he was able to summon such power, but could only let out a victorious laugh as he fell to the ground and his attack faded.
"BAHHAHAHAA!!! You pathetic boy! Absolutely insignificant!! " Vexus walked up Phoenix's increasing limp body and gave him a good kick in his side.
"Insects, That's what you are!! Nothing more than feeble minded foolish little--"
The sound of a gun cocking to her head cut her off and her eyes darted to Sean
"...N-No, you can't...y-you WOULDN'T!!!!--"

"Let's see you heal from this, bitch."




There was a bullet hole in the wall on the other side of Vexus' head. Her eyes slowly moved to the mark made by the bullet in the wall, then back over to Sean.
" Your mother will hear of this... Sean..."
She said as her eyes went blank and body limp. She collapsed and fell to the ground, the fire slowly creeping up engulfing the house.
Vexus' brain had been destroyed, but she had a few seconds left of conscious thought left. The mechanical enhancements she had made to her cerebral allowed her this extra time, which she used to create a crude programming for a sort of 'Auto-Pilot'. Elena had been on the ground for some time now, almost three minutes had passed and not the slightest movement from her. The fire had spread to her and had caught part of her on fire. The blaze was about to reach her hand when her fingers curled up into a fist. This program that Vexus had conjured up in the last few seconds of her conscious existence had put the still functioning mechanical parts of her brain in control of all of her systems. However, these small parts were only meant to hold any over flow not to control her entire system.
Vexus was brought to her feet and began walking away from Deluge and Phoenix. She walked at a normal pace as her sensors drew her a path to follow. Vexus had designated her sensors to try and bring her back to her master computer in Germany. Before her mind faded, she knew that it would not be possible with the two heroes most likely still by her and the house a blaze. But little did they that she would return, more powerful than ever imaginable. Elena Vexus cannot be killed and these fools shall pay for their actions sooner than they may know...

When Phoenix came through he was over Sean's shoulder and still unable to move. "You killed her didn't you?" he asked in a saddened tone. Phoenix felt helpless as he couldn't stop his friend from making a mistake.
"So what are you going to do now?" Phoenix asked as he coughed up some blood. The toxin had really taken it's toll on him. He worried for his friend about how the Talons would react to the news.
