An average day [invite only]

The darkness lay out like a vast plan in front of her, as if it's only contents were her and her alone. She was alone in this soundless scape that seemed to devour all but sensation. Though the only sensation she felt was the feeling of loneliness, a feeling she could not shake no matter what she tried. The sound of a child could be heard crying in the distance yet she couldn't even move to follow that haunting sound; the sound that only seemed to damn her even more. Heart rate quickened as she tried to force her limbs to move with all her might but they stayed where they were at her side,as if she had no control over herself.

A single point of light appeared in the distance and began to grow every second. Burning her eyes yet gave a relief deep within her that she couldn't quite explain herself. Though the feeling was short lived as the next thing that came into view was the sight of a girl crying over mangled bodies.

Elena woke with a start,eyes brought directly to the ceiling. Body drenched in a cold sweat that seemed to chill her to the bone, as if she had been soaked by a bucket of iced water. It was another day in her life but not always a pleasant one. The apartment she was staying in was not as high classed as she was used to;though it served it's purposes. Groggily she rolled out of her bed, feet meeting with the dirty shag carpet. Not wasting any time she took herself a shower, brushed her hair and put on make up. All of the daily required rituals were done and her day could begin right.

Slinging the brown leather satchel around her shoulders, Elena rushed out the door and down the street;leather sandals clapping against the sidewalk. After about a block she came to a small shop with a small sign on the front that read ' Elena's potions and Tinctures”, a personal business of hers. If one wanted to buy specialized potions,this was the place they would be sold.

Standing behind the counter,Elena waited for a customer to enter. "This is gonna be a long day.

Lyra had decided to adventure around New York more, trying to get used to the city more. After walk around for a while a small shop caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. The sign on the shop front read "Elena's potions and Tinctures” Lyra crossed the street and walked into the shop. She looked around the small shop, looking at some of the bottles. She turned to the shopkeeper. "Hello." said Lyra in her southern draw. "I'm not really familiar with this part of town. Mind telling me what you sell here?"

”Welcome.” She said with a smile as the young woman walked through the shops door. It seemed she would indeed have a customer today,hopefully. Elena stepped around the counter to meet the young lady who had chosen her place to be curious of. ”I sell many things her my dear. .” She said answering the question directed at her with a daunting enthusiasm. She picked up a white bottle of a strange substance, allowing it to slosh around.

”This is a specially made substance that is guaranteed to make you look younger. Trust me,i've used it for years.” She said with a pearly white smile. ”Name the problem and i'm sure I have the potion to solve it.”

That much was true. Elena was hard pressed to find a physical ailment she could not fix.

"Wow." said Lyra in amazement. "Although I have a question, if you have a potion for everything why are you confined to a small shop?" It took her a moment to realize how bad that sounded. "I'm not saying your lying, I believe your telling the truth." Then a funny thought came to her mind. "Although I doubt you have a potion that makes me forget a select four years of my life I doubt you have anything that can really help me though." said Lyra semi-sarcastically. 'Or something that can get my innocence back, but that's long gone.' Thought Lyra continuing the joke in her head. "Although I would not mind buying a bottle or two of that anti-age stuff." Lyra smiled at the shopkeeper.

”People these days aren't receptive to miracles,always so pessimistic about things. Science has all the answers they say.” She said placing a few bottles within a small plastic bag as she handed it to the young woman. ”But what do scientists know?” She added as an afterthought as a shimmering hand of light formed and grabbed a vial off of a shelf;dropping it within her hand.

”This is a freebie. It's a stress reliever,helps with anything that bothers you. Though you should probably be careful the dosage you take;can be really trippy if you taske too much.” Placing a folded piece of paper within the bag,she handed it to her. ”Those are the instructions and dosage for both.” Ringing up the total cost for the potions, Elena pulled a reciept.

'That will be 19.72. Thank you for your business.”

"I could of used a miracle a few years back, but hey what happened in the past can't be changed sadly." Lyra mouth dropped as she saw the hand made of light grab another bottle. "That was awesome, better trick then what i can do and thanks, stress does tend to pile up." Lyra reached into her purse and pulled out a 20. She handed it over to Elena. "Keep the change, I've learned very little bit helps."

Lyra grabbed the small bag turned to head out the door but then stopped and turned around. "You showed me that cool little light hand trick so let me return the favor." Just then another Lyra walk out of herself, wearing and holding the same things she was holding. "I'd like to see a scientist explain this." giggled Lyra. The other Lyra then returned to her body. "Although I do have to ask how to you the light hand thing."

”Amazing. I've never met someone who could duplicate themselves,its very interesting.” She said with a warm smile. ”How I do that? It's simple magic really. I'm what some would call a witch but not some crazy caclking bitch.” A ring of gold formed around her green eyes as her body began to radiate a warm glow. ”I use the radiant light around me and mix it with my own energy,thus making...” An orb of light formed above her outstretched palm,letting off an almost unnarutal light. ”Light magic to be exact but its whatever really.”

"Wow... magic... that's awesome." said Lyra in amazement. "Although it makes me wonder if you can do that whats your reason for going out and helping other heroes? The reason I'm not helping is cause heroism sadly doesn't pay, much at least if at all. And struggling to pay the bills comes first. Are you in a similar situation?" Lyra realized she might of gotten a bit to personal. "Sorry, i don't mean to pry in areas i don't belong. And as for my duplication powers, well they just happened one day. My parents were surprised but grew to accept the power too, eventually. But the rule was that i could only use them on the farm. They were happy that the chores got done faster though. So yeah can't really explain how my power works, I really just think and it happens. I can even make a clone of you that you could control. Any clone that i make of myself I'm connected to telepathically, not the clones of other people though and not sure if they share a connection with the original, probably do." Lyra paused after her long explanation. "I wouldn't call yourself a witch. No i'd call you an awesome person with light powers."
