Lahnah Xianghua

Lahnah was born 20 years ago to a not so typical home in downtown New York, very close to China Town in fact. Her mother was a gorgeous young Chinese woman who had lived her entire life in China Town working in her mother's beauty parlor as a nail and hair specialist. She worked long and hard hours to help pay her way into college but one day Lahnah's father, if you could call him that, saw her walking down the street from the parlor and followed her home. There he overpowered and raped her in the alley where the side door of the small home was, then disappeared without a trace. When the police were called, they filed the report and attempted to find the man who did it but he really had disappeared...they never found him. From this Lahnah was born and from this she was ridiculed in her family and shunned from their gatherings; in their culture they believed she was a demon child and and the fact that she was a girl didn't help the situation. However, her mother decided to give up trying to go to college and used her money to raise her daughter instead; the name Lahnah, though not Chinese like the rest of her name, was given to her because it was the name of her mother's favorite character in a book, a story about the prodigal daughter of a rape victim.

Lahnah and her mother lived in a run down apartment until she was 15 years old, and it was a fairly decent life except for being estranged from everyone. The two got along very well. Her mother taught her everything she needed to know about Chinese culture as a woman, like how to serve others, how to pick your fights or stay quiet, and of course how to chose a man though she wasn't married at that point herself. Lahnah didn't like most of it but she took the information to heart and lived by it as best she could. When she was almost 15 he came into the picture again, the one who raped her mother.

They thought about calling the police but he came knocking on the door and Lahnah answered it to protect her mother, much to her dismay of course. The man was a tall, handsome American, which was probably why she looked nothing like she was Chinese, he must have had strong genetics. He came to them and bent down on one knee and tried to apologize for what he had done, he even offered the possibility of being a father to Lahnah and/or a husband to her mother. The girls, blinded by Chinese culture and his convincing sob story, allowed him in when it started to rain and let him finish telling his story. Not falling for it passed that point, her mother tried to ask him to leave and when he wouldn't things got physical. He chloroformed both of them, who were yet again powerless to stop the assault, dragged them from their home and had them stored in a small hidden bedroom behind the wall of some building. They stayed here for months, during which her mother discovered she was pregnant yet again, leaving them both to wonder if the man was sick enough to have raped Lahnah as well, but there was never any closure on that possibility.

During their kidnapping her father beat them regularly to keep them in check, he raped her mom near daily, and kept Lahnah chained to a wall whenever she disobeyed; from this she quickly learned to never misbehave. After the 9 months, her mother gave birth in the room to her baby sister, Mi-na, who was surprisingly healthy. Upon seeing the child her father told them that he would let them go, on one condition. Her mother would ditch her and the baby on the streets and marry him, they would tell everyone that she and him had eloped to Canada and that was the reason for the disappearance, but they came back when Lahnah was killed in some freak car accident. The only other option was that he kill Lahnah and Mi-na and force their mother to marry him. Of course, they chose the first option and luckily or unluckily he was true to his word but he left with one more condition. If he ever saw her name anywhere in the system, he would first kill their mother then hunt them down and kill both her and Mi-na. No hospitals, no jobs, no internet, and definitely no police reports.

Lahnah decided to sell her body to the streets after the first couple weeks struggling to steal provisions fell through horribly. All they had a small cardboard box that Mi-na was left in when she was working, and that was the only shelter they had for the time being. This was the only thing that she could do to keep them alive, she even went under the assumed name "Kitten." Often she ended up in horrible relationships with men who beat her half dead or raped her repeatedly, but they gave her money and so she put up with it for Mi-na's sake. Occasionally, however, she would find a man who treated her well, and the two would get a break and live under a roof for a little while, until whoever it was grew worried about the liability of having a prostitute in their home, and kicked them to the curb again. This was their life, and unfortunately with the competition in New York City, Lahnah found herself giving sex for cheaper and cheaper until all they could afford was one night in a motel a week and food. But even that "job" was a dangerous gamble on their lives, for if she got arrested it would be over for them the moment she left prison.

A year and a half of this went by and Lahnah finally determined that she couldn't put Mi-na through it any longer. When she was sleeping one night, she carried her carefully to a local orphanage and put her on the door step with a thin blanket over her. Her father had never said anything about Mi-na's name in the system, for she had not been born in a hospital and she had no records, no one knew who she was and no one ever would...they would give her a new name and she would have a new life. One that was better than what Lahnah could possibly offer.

A year later, she was still going through the same routines just without her sister, the only difference was that in the day time she would stop by the orphanage and watch from a distance until Mi-na was adopted and she never saw her again. One night, though, everything changed once more, whether for the better or worse has still yet to be decided. Lahnah was working in the slums and had found a costumer, he was more beautiful than anyone she'd ever seen, and so well dressed she had been confused as to why he was in the ghetto. They had gone to his Camero to exchange business and talked for nearly 30 minutes before doing so, during which she felt more like he was seducing her rather than the other way around. After the events, he offered her something she'd never forget, he asked her if she wanted to be like him, confused she had thought at the time he was a high end drug dealer or a rich gangster, but being used to men talking nonsense in her presence and seeing another potential boyfriend who would keep her "safe" more or less, she had agreed carelessly. The next thing she remembered was him biting her and excruciating pain and then everything went black.

Several hours later she woke up abandoned in an alley on the edge of the city, but she felt better than she ever had before. The man who bit her was nowhere to be seen and she hadn't been paid either, she assumed he just drugged her and left, unfortunately this had happened to her plenty of times before and there was nothing she could do about it but move on. It was still dark out when she had moved out into the street, the car came like a train, fast and unable to stop, she hadn't realized how close to the road she had been, in fact she had been sure she was quiet a ways away from it, it was as though she had just taken a step and was suddenly there. Little did she know that that really was almost exactly what happened, her speed had been enhanced. She had managed to move out of the way of the vehicle barreling her way but was still clipped and had fallen over, earning several scrapes and a nasty bruised spinal column from her back getting hit. The car had stopped to see if she was alright, but she found a strange instinct to snarl and hiss at the man until he took off scared. Confused she got up and suddenly was back at the alley the same way she'd ended up on the street. A few minutes later she found her minor injures completely healed and the injury on her back almost completely gone but for the pain.

Two years have gone by since that night, she's discovered that she is in fact a vampire; though she has a serious problem with drinking the blood of human's but she does it every once in a while to keep herself from dieing and never kills her victims. Her mysterious night was the cause of a few new tricks, including the ability to run extremely fast and heal. This very healing power allows her to come out during the day if necessary though it causes her a lot of agony to do so. Currently she no longer prostitutes but rather goes from man to man in relationships, using her even more gorgeous appearance to seduce and live off of them for a while.
