Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

Painstake
Real Name: Silas Umber
Super Hero Name: Painstake
Title: "Doc" or "Bleeder"
Alignment: Hero
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Race: Multi-Racial
Hair: Black (Balding)
Eyes: Brown (inactive) Red (when inflicting) Blue (when enduring)
Height: 6"
Weight: 195 lbs
Costume Description: Silas is a snappy dresser, usually preferring dress slacks and a button down shirt. the Painstake costume is a hasty heroing costume; a black watch cap and a face bandana with tough boots and rugged jeans. He also sports a leather jacket to protect from (unneeded) injury. He never wears gloves but often sports an impressive array of bumps, bruises, knicks and scrapes.
Personality: Usually casual, the hero called Painstake is easygoing and gregarious when not on task. When focused, he becomes stoic and detached; a product of his medical field training. His concern with people is usually convincing them that things will be okay. Although great at handling stress from others, He is at times overwhelmed by his own and is a bit neurotic when there's no crisis about.
History: Silas Umber grew up an A student with an interest in biology. After high school he enlisted in the united states navy, Taking on the rate of Hospital Corpsman, he served with honors until the end of his 6-year enlistment, often displaying innovative approaches to treating injuries by improvised means. After his military time, he found employment at a military hospital. Given his record and his security clearance, he was assigned to medical research, eventually managing the intake of paid volunteers.
One particularly disastrous day, Silas was assisting the setup of the experimental Q.W.I.T. system (Quantum Wound Intervention/Treatment). The goal of the system was to heal wounds with the application of quantum mechanics. In theory, if the configuration of atoms making up a wounded person could be moved into a prior quantum phase state, the wound could be healed with little to no side-effect. When test day arrived, The system had been sabotaged, causing a bombastic implosion and a release of atom-destabilizing energy.
Silas woke in the hospital some months later, having been retrieved from the wreckage. His survival was hailed as a medical miracle. Although conscious, he was still agonized from the shrapnel that was embedded deep in his body. One night, after a nurse had checked on him, he touched her with his left hand. There was some sort of... transfer. The nurse collapsed in blind pain, blood seeping from holes that seemed to have bore themselves into her body. Immediately, Silas sprung up, placing her in bed in his place.
Only after stealing the needed supplies from the nurses station and connecting the nurse to his former setup did he realize his lack of pain... no injury...no agony. The only remnants of his injury were the bore-holes in the nurse and the small dusting of stone-and-metal between his skin and his gown.
Powers: Painstake has 2 related abilities imbued by the Q.W.I.T. explosion: INFLICT and ENDURE.
INFLICT: When touching someone with his left hand, Painstake may transfer to the person he is touching any physical injury he has been inflicted with. The process can be instantaneous with small wounds or take a longer time with broken bones or torn muscle. He may choose to break contact early, leaving both parties (equivalently) half-injured. The process is agonizing for both parties. In the event that a projectile is left in the body, the healing process will push it out, and the inflictee will retain an equivalent injury, although with no projectile present.
ENDURE: exactly like INFLICT, but reversed. When touching someone with his right hand, Painstake may heal them by ENDURING their injuries. It is as if the person ENDURE is used on is using INFLICT on Painstake (although he still controls the flow). this is handy in cases such as someone with two collapsed lungs. Again, agonizing for all involved.
ENDURE and INFLICT work on complex animals (things like yeast insects, gut flora etc... do not count), and analogous injuries are developed unless the animal in question does not possess a body-part analogue. Mind you: In these cases, scale is important. if painstake ENDURES a rat that has a pin through it's front foot, Painstake will develop a hole that is injurious to the same scale relative to the size of a human hand.
INFLICT and ENDURE only work in injury; not disease, mutation, drugs, poison, age, decay or parasitic infection. The injuries from parasites may be healed, but this does not get rid of the parasite.
PAINSTAKE MAY NOT INFLICT AND ENDURE AT THE SAME TIME! Trying to act as a 'pain circut' between two parties overloads the mind with sensation and will cause him to black out. besides being able to move his injuries off of himself with INFLICT, painstake possesses no extraordinary healing abilities (besides those that come with having a medical background).

As soon as the sound hit Silas' ears, he knew the night was going to end with blood. He had heard the screaming in the parking structure and initially wrote it off as a couple's spat. The moment he heard the clap of skin on skin, the chirp of a voice shocked to silence, He knew things had just gotten domestic. Hustling into the parking structure, Silas listened for the roar of an engine as he exchanged his dress-shirt for his leather jacket. Binding his face in a bandana and pulling a patch cap over his head, he stowed his bag and himself near the only available exit.
This plan was crap, and this plan would hurt. The point is that it would work. As soon as he heard the engine in the near-empty structure roar to life, he pulled a capsule from his coat pocket. Breaking it open, he inhaled the contents; this plan would go no where if he were to be knocked out. He waited patiently for the pickup truck to pull to the exit crossbar.

The man in the truck cussed as he fiddled with the automatic ticket-booth
1...
Painstake saw her... the female companion in the passenger seat; face red as a spring rose from the lividly and one eye swollen almost to mutation. the bar lifted and the truck lurched violently forward, prepared to speed into the street.
As the truck veered a sharp right onto the one-way street, Painstake lunged, and managed to place himself before the truck's grill. on his 7 foot flight, he took stock; at least 2 cracked ribs, blown out ankle, and the landing was none to kind to his scalp.
Through the daze, he knew it would do.
Painstake watched the man storm out of his truck, immediately checking the truck grill for damage. As Painstake's vision cleared, he watched boots stalk toward him. Playing his best possum, he felt a heavy foot swing squarely into his stomach.
"You trying to mess up my truck, you hoodlum!" the boozy stranger bellowed.
Painstake pawed at the air innefectually, feigning a need for serious help. The beer-stained driver lowered his face to Painstake.
"I should just rev up and run you the f....*"
with sudden speed, Painstake grabbed the driver by the hair with his left hand. it was all he needed. He had played the possum perfectly, and now watched the red light of his own eyes cast onto the face of his assailant. He held on, stronger and stronger as his own bones mended, popped, and contorted back into their rightful positions. The drunk folded suddenly inward at the chest. As he buckled, a patch of skin slipped away from his skull. Painstake stood and lay the man down. With one last spasm, the now-grounded drunk coughed and sputtered up a rivulet of blood. Painstake dusted himself off, and turned to the truck.
He approached the passenger side slowly. The entire time, the woman's good eye was trained on him, speechless. He'd seen this before; victims so used to being victimized that they don't know how to feel when someone helps them. As he approached the window, the woman opened her mouth as if to speak. The words caught in her throat.
"He'll be fine" Painstake said. "Do you have a phone"?
The woman nodded in gesture toward her now-crumpled date. Painstake opened the passenger door.
"You need to get it and call an ambulance" Painstake said, gently placing his right hand on hers. The gravity of it words were punctuated by the powder-blue cast on the woman's face.
"He has at least two cracked ribs and possibly a tear in his stomach. you need to tell the EMT's this."
The left side of Painstakes world began to blur
"tt..ttwo ribs and his...stomach tore." she stammered.
"good, you got it."
as painstake walked away, vertigo forming from the now swollen left eye, the woman called out
"dd...did you see... who hit him?"
Painstake smirked.
"not a thing lady... not a thing."
