RP experience?

So I'm entirely new to roleplaying and was just wondering; how did you get into it?
I knew about it for years but have only just taken an interest recently, I mean I've thought about it before but I always lost interest before long. But this time I've decided to give it a real try. So, back to my original question; Why did you start roleplaying and what is it that keeps you coming back?

I started RPing because of MiniNation, Which was basically a giant forum where there were a billion subforums and some such. Anyway in one of these Subforums there was an rp thing, being openminded i tried it out. Skipping ahead to 5 months later, Minination shut down but i enjoyed rping alot. Jumping forward 5 or 6 months, I was on google looking for some low rate superhero rpg and i came across this and the rest is history.

The reason i came back was because i needed a hobby, and i enjoyed it.

I kinda starting about 12 years ago with LARPing.Me and some friends created our own characters and played as them.But that didn't last long.It was a few years before I got into it again.I joined a forum and played some.Unfortunately there was limited activity which led to a some people attempting to Godmod.Another couple years pass and I joined an old friends place but soon learned he was a psycho Godmodder making it impossible to play any character.Goes without saying we're not friends anymore.I started playing with some new friends of mine a couple years ago.I played HERO system for awhile and started to play D&D before like got in the way.Now I'm here.

Hm... I started rping a year ago or so, a little over a year for sure... lets see... I started in october... so 1 year and 3 months ago in the fanfiction forums. I was mainly just curious and thought it was neat, then I got addicted, made my way to actual forums and such. I started in the batman fandom, found this place on accident and so here I am! I'm still in Batman a lot but also in general panfandom... so yeah. XD

I started RPing 7 years ago or so. I used to be on a site called Pokemon Crater, basically a site a lot like other ones on the web where you can move around on a map and catch pokemon. I never really played it that much though; I was mostly there for the community. One day I got curious about the RP section that they had and decided to join; it's closed down since then, sometime in 2007 I believe, and I've been hopping around from forum to forum for the past few years, usually not staying too long because either the forum dies or...well, the forum dies.
