Costume/Character Description/Image:

From the shoulders down, Mr. What appears to be a perfectly ordinary, skinny human being in a perfectly ordinary black suit, black leather gloves, white shirt, and orange tie, who just happens to have every inch of skin hidden behind his stylish outfit. Sadly, everything above his shoulders is utterly and completely ridiculous. He has no neck, head, hair, hat, anything he should have up above his shoulders. Instead, there is one very large, uncarved, completely ordinary pumpkin resting there. It's not even a mask or helmet or anything, his head really is an actual pumpkin.

Personality: As if it's not bad enough that Mr. What, having no vocal cords, mouth, or magical abilities, is entirely incapable of speaking, he's also gotten into the habit of using his large collection of knives, daggers, and miscellaneous pointy things as an violent communications alternative. What is a vengeful, heartless, sociopathic monster with an unquenchable hatred for humanity. If not operating as someone else's hired goon, he'll almost certainly be out killing for the sake of killing.

History: What was once a human, an absolute bastard of a human being. Y'know that weird kid who traps, tortures, and skins small animals? Yeah, that was What. For reasons unknown, around Halloween a few months ago, this human was within his young adult years, he took to upsetting an elderly sorceress. What he did still isn't clear, nor is why he did it, but she was none too pleased with this wretched little monster's deeds, and decided to curse him accordingly.

Powers: What Pumpkin is quite talented in murdering people with sharp things. Blunt things, too. In fact, you could say What is an expert in killing with just about any item he might get his gloved hands on. Masonry trowels, steak knives, hatchets, someone's bloody letter opener, a wooden school-teacher's ruler that's been broken in half and sharpened into a pair of pointy spears, a bottle that once held some very expensive wine, a gauntlet with sharpened house and car keys mounted to the end of each finger, a length of severed electrical cord...you name it, he can and will kill with it, provided the opportunity.

Additionally, What also has a strange, limited sort of invincibility in effect. So long as his pumpkin is at least partially intact, he can keep fighting. Any pumpkin of the right size and shape can act as a replacement for a more damaged head.

As a sort of golem, a nearly mindless being made almost entirely of magic, he has a number of advantages and disadvantages tied into that. He's mute, but is still capable of writing. He cannot 'see', but is aware of everything within a certain distance from himself. That field can't focus on distant objects or individuals with the same intensity that human eyes can. In fact, it only truly functions best at close range, hence What's preference for close-quarters combat and melee weaponry.
