History:
- Spoiler:
- Vermillion was born to the name Dominic Trescesco in Florence Italy during the year 1329. His parents being Lorenzo Trescesco and Giuliana di Lippo. Their family was at the peasant level, however the family was very wise with their money and had always kept a large stash of money secretly hidden away in case an emergency were to arise one day. Unlike most of the other families in this time era, Dominic was an only child. His parents had told him that they got lucky with him. They were planning on having children until they got a boy, they were extremely happy when the first one was a boy. Both of them knew learning from the other citizens of the city that the more children they had, the harder they were to support. Regardless of only having one child they put him to work, he worked the fields with his father and assisted his mother around supper time. When he was of proper age, he got his own job to help the family out with their money. His parents did not tell him about the extra money that they had hidden because if he knew about it he might not have worked as hard or would go brag to the other villagers. Though they still acted and dressed poor, Dominic's family was one of the wealthiest in the whole town. Figuring if they had more and were not royalty, the tax collector would take more.
Life for the three of them went on in a pretty routine fashion, until the year 1348 when Dominic's father was stricken with the plague. He was the first of many in the city of Florence. Giuliana did everything in her power to try and keep the man alive and prevent her son from getting the disease. She would lock her and Lorenzo in a room and send Dominic out to gather supplies that they needed. Dominic was terribly worried about his mother catching the plague, but even more worried about his father not making it. It was surprising how long he had lasted as it was because most of the others who had contracted the disease died with in a few days, his father had been fighting it for almost an entire week now and he rarely saw his mother. The only way the he knew that she was still alive was when she was giving him a list of things to go buy.
As the days past the lists got shorter and less frequent. Dominic was getting very worried, but thought that maybe his father was beating the disease and they would be able to return to their normal life. But after nearly two days of not hearing from his mother in the room locked up with his father she called him over to the door. She seemed to have a weaker voice than was he normally heard. Giuliana asked him to buy the usual things which gave Dominic a sense of relief, treatment was back to normal so his father should be doing okay. But then, the last comment to end the list was to buy two of everything. His heart dropped. Why would she need twice as much? Would it be so that she wouldn't have to send him out again? No, why start doing that now, she hasn't been for this entire time. He did as she said and went out and began buying two of everything. Instead of paying attention to the things and people around him like he normally did whenever he went out, Dominic was completely focused on what could be wrong and why she needed two of everything. It then hit him and he dropped to his knees sobbing. His mother must have caught the disease too. Spending all those hours in there with him trying to take care of him, of course she would catch the disease. Dominic hurried and gathered all of the supplies and ran as fast as he could back to the house. He bolted through the door and started shouting for his mother. He dropped everything that he had bought and collapsed onto the ground in front of the door that led to his father and mother. He was in tears, screaming and yelling for his mother, begging to see her again. She told him that she couldn't let him do that, they wanted him to live a long healthy life and letting him into the room would ruin his chances of that. Dominic did not care, he wanted to see his parents. He needed to see their faces just one last time even if it cost him his life.
Dominic kicked in the door and saw his mother sitting in the corner riddled with disease. She tried to hide her face, it was as pale as a ghost's and had scars and lesions all over it from the disease. She said that she did not think that he would be forceful as to break down the door to see them. Dominic still had tears in his eyes and looked over to his father who was laying on the bed. He turned to his mother and asked if he was just sleeping. Giuliana looking him in the eyes and told him that Lorenzo, his father, had died within the first couple of days of the disease. He fell to his knees and begged to know why she had not told him sooner. She replied saying that the plan was for both of us to pass without your knowing. Dominic could feel his heart shatter. How could his own parents feel this way, not wanting him to know about their death. His mother interrupted his thoughts and told him that something like this would make him stronger in the long run. She did not agree with the idea in the least bit but it was Lorenzo's dying wish. Giuliana had failed in the task, for a mother's love is too strong to ignore. She told him that he would be always loved in this life and the next. Dominic was beginning to snap and his mother told him that he was acting immature. A 19 year old boy is far too old to be crying like he was. His mother began to slowly close her eyes, fading from this world with every passing second. Dominic ran over and held her in his hands shouting telling her not to go to hang on just a little bit longer. She apologized and said that he loved him one last time as her life came to a close, but at the last second Dominic's hands began glowing a golden yellow color and Giuliana's eyes shot back open. He set her down gently and stood up in absolute shock, what was this magic. Dominic walked over to his father and placed his hands on him, but sadly nothing had happened. The glow faded and he walked over to his mother and helped her up and walked out of the room. They had Lorenzo buried, and continued on with their lives. A few days went by and neither of them spoke to each other, they went through the motions as they always had except without Lorenzo. A week and a half has passed without Dominic and his mother speaking and he had enough of the silence. He approached his mother and activated this new found magic, with both his hands glowing, he looked at his mother and asked what this was. She quickly replied saying that she had no idea, assuming it was a curse put on him by the devil himself for being so weak in the time of their death. He gave her a look and knew that she knew something that he did not, but for now he accepted it.
A year and a half passed, making Dominic 21. The year was now 1350 and Dominic's mother finally decided to approach him about this magic. She told him that it was an ancient family secret passed down for generations. She has the ability as well, but to such extent as Dominic. Her story continued on saying that she had contracted the disease long before his father had and was simply fighting off with her own abilities. She would have used them to save her husband if it were possible, but her abilities only effected her and on internal things at that. For example if she had a scratch or cut on her skin that would heal normally, however if she contracted a disease or there was damage done to her organs her ability would fix it. However due to the extreme nature of the Black Death, her powers were not able to counter it forever. But it seemed as if Dominic was granted with the ability where his powers can effect anyone he comes into contact with.
With amazement filling his soul, he told his mother that he wanted to go out and travel and help as many people as he could that still had this terrible disease. His mother told him that he was a grown man and may do as he pleases. She just wanted him to know that the same statement stands as she said it over a year ago. That he would always be loved in this world and the next. And with that Dominic set out to help the world as much as he could with this plague. He followed the roads north, healing hundreds on the way. It took him about a week to reach Madrid , Spain. Traveling through the entire country of Spain took nearly three months and after he made his way to France. The cold months were starting to approach and it was the first snow when he reached Paris. Dominic was very thankful for the time that he made, because even he was unsure of he would be able to make it a night in the winter. He staying in Paris until the weather warmed enough for traveling, however he did not feel like leaving. He very much enjoyed the few months that he spent in the city. Dominic did start to think that he was putting his best interest first, but saw that this place was getting along rather fine without his help. No one had asked about anyone with 'magic healing hands' so it seemed like word did not spread. Though morbid the case was probably that everyone who had seen his word had passed from the recent plague. With his mind made up Dominic decided to live the remainder of his life out in France.
Years passed and Dominic aged just as everyone else had, and it was a fresh new century. It had been almost 50 years since he used his magical ability and wondered if that was the reason that he was still aging, though his mind set was that of an elderly person so he did not bother trying just yet. But then one day out of pure curiosity he kicked on his powers again and watched as time reversed on his body. All his aches and pains, wrinkles and scars dissolved in a bright golden light, luckily it was while it was still bright outside. He used the rest of the daylight to pack up everything he had. Dominic made his way out in the night and traveled until daylight. Since he left on quite the whim he was completely unsure where his next destination was going to be. After camping for a night he decided to make his way to England. He took a slow pace and took him just over a month to arrive in the capital of London. After his last experiences in France he realized that he could jump from city to city, country to country just living different lives. It was interesting to see how other people lived as well as the customs of the different lands. Dominic lived in England for roughly 70 years, and during that time he further figured out his abilities. Seeing how leaving it 'on' for longer periods of time reversed his age more, though this discovery put him behind. He wanted to disappear from England in 1460, but instead had to move and live else where in the country for an additional 10 years. Now knowing this he would be able to move through different cities in the countries. His next stop was Portugal.
Dominic arrived officially in Portugal during the year 1472, and this was a good choice for him. The country was doing well for itself, expanding outwards and conquering neighboring lands. He always made sure that he did not get himself involved in the military, he didn't want to expose his abilities if he were to get wounded. In this case his powers might become widespread and well know which was exactly what he did not want to happen. Everything was going according to plan for Dominic. He lived his life just as anyone else would in the town that he chose. He decided to disappear again in 1523. He was having much debate over where he would travel to next. There was new land that had been discovered at the dawn of the century that Portugal had claimed and named Brazil. There were many caravans that were heading to this new land in order to colonize. Dominic hitched at ride and decided to enjoy the exotic environment of this new land, however after a few years it was not quite to his liking and he returned to Portugal.
In 1529 a treaty was signed between Spain and Portugal giving the country a major place in the world during this century. It was the age of discovery as many people from Portugal went out exploring the world, which made it easy for Dominic to move around inside the country. He would simply tell those he knew that he was going exploring. Though with all this moving about he needed to be careful because revolts and rebellions were stating to spring up. The two last kings of Portugal had been killed in battle without any proper heirs. With this trouble now settling in, the King of Spain took over the throne combining the two kingdoms. Many of the citizens did not agree with this merging. As he looked further into all of this conflict he learned that there was more than just the merging of kingdoms. There were conflicting religions and new leaders arising with innovative new ideas about thought. With this new war starting to form, Dominic had to continually keep on the move. He did not stay in one place for more than a couple weeks. As hard as he tried, he could not exit the borders of the Spanish/Portugese Empire. He tried to get to France and even England but to know avail. The war continued on for decades and finally came to an end with a peace treaty in 1648. Dominic felt extremely set back because of this, and decided to take a trip back home to Florence. Italy was in a term of peace due to it's current ruler and seemed like an excellent place to be. From 1649 to 1701 he lived in Italy, unfortunately seeing the plague return on a couple of occasions. He made a long journey and brought himself back to England, nothing too exciting or special was happening in the Kingdom of Great Britian. He easily moved between the different countries and cities in the kingdom for 15 to 20 years each. The longer he lived, the faster time seemed to go by. Having the ability to reverse things like this was simply too amazing, though Dominic made sure not to allow such power to go to his head. He had done very well at keeping this a secret for nearly 400 years and he planned to take it to his grave, if he ever made it there.
London from 1702 to 1717. Scotland from 1718 to 1728. Ireland from 1729 to 1750. After these lives he returned back to England and did some work for himself to put extra money in his pocket. At this point staying somewhere for anything less than 10 years was child's play.So with another 10 years of wages under his belt he decided to move on over to France again. While there he met the King's mistress by the name of Jeanne Antoinette Poisson. Also known as Madame de Pompadour, Dominic had unfortunately met her towards the end of her life for she died in 1764 before he could get to properly know her in. Dominic had weaved himself into royalty in multiple countries over the number of years he's spent in each of them.
The year was now 1799, the dawn of the 19th century and Dominic was preparing himself to shove off yet again. These routine lives of his were starting to bore him after 500 years of living. He's seen nearly every culture, knew the languages of the lands and has witnessed many wars. Nothihng was surprising him anymore. Though hearing through the grapevine, a man by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte organized a coup d'eat and installed himself as First Consul. The talent of this individual sparked Dominic's interest and he decided to stick around for a while, see how this man played things out. His decision to stay was not in vain, Napoleon was declared Emperor of France five years later. This Napoleon raised a great empire, and at the peak of his power in 1812 went to conquer Russia. In Dominic's eyes it seemed as if he did not want Russia invading Poland, however Russia was a massive power and even with this man's genius he was unsure of the success rate.
Breaking his own rules, Dominic enlisted in the military simply to see how this battle would play out. They set out on June the 24th and while traveling through the land they won a number or minor conflicts and one major one in August. But by that time Dominic could feel the temperature falling. The cold months officially rolled around and the bitter winter of Russia tore through the once great army. Napoleon and what was left of his men made their retreat, but it was time for Dominic to move on so he stayed on the battlefield playing dead. Once the opportunity presented itself, Dominic got up and took the outfit of one of the Russian soldiers that had perished in the battle. The information the man had on him was simple information anyone would need if found dead such as name, age, and gender. Dominic followed the tracks of the victorious Russian army back to their camp but was starting to feel extremely weak once the camp was in site. He had felt the cold earlier when changing into the other clothes but figured that his abilities would keep him warm, however now it seems as if they are only meant to heal. Dominic had to force himself onto the grounds of the base as he was being over come with fatigue and frost bite, quickly losing feeling in his appendages. There was a tent to his left and with that his legs gave out and he collapsed on the walls of the tent. He startled the individuals in the tent causing them to investigate. Dominic was taken into the medical tent and was cared for, once he came to he noticed that he was in a different place. The army must have moved back to civilization, how long was he out for? Regardless, it did not seem as if his powers had activated because he still had scars from frost bite. The nurse was speaking to him in Russian, one of the few languages that he did not know fluently. He told her in some broken sentences that he needed to sleep, she understood and left the room. To her, Dominic was a war victim and could probably be insane for all she knew. When the night came, he snuck out of the hospital taking all of his information with him. While inspecting his papers, he found out that this man's name was Vermillion Zarkovich and after some further research he found out that he was an orphan. Though it sounded dark, but Dominic got luck here. Now he did not have to attend to a family or lie about his death to them. He used this new identity to the best of his ability to get aid from being in the service. Dominic picked up the language and started living his life in Russia. Things had an interesting turn for some time, but he was happy that things were now back on track.
Everything ran smoothly as he continued out in Russia's capital of Moscow through the summer months of 1813. Dominic took upon the alias of Vermillion Zarkovich so that his name would not draw anymore attention. This country was massive, and with a new name and new start Vermillion knew he was going to have fun here. This nation was a powerful one, extending it's reach far outside it's borders and discovering new lands. He loved it here. After living a life in the powerful city of Moscow, He moved out to St. Petersburg in 1854. Living there for a while, he became bored of the large city and decided to move to a smaller town, which he did around 1887. While staying in this small town he met a man by the name of Grigori Rasputin. He was a very interesting individual who seemed to dabble in the ways that many were not fond of in these days.
Vermillion was extremely curious about all that he could do so he got as close as he could with Rasputin, and finally it all paid off a number of years later. Rasputin completely trusted Zarkovich and asked him to participate in a ritual that he had been planning for years on end. Vermillion reluctantly agreed because he was not sure if he would ever get a chance to witness anything like this, even in his lifetime. They had a set date and time and Vermillion arrived as he said he would. There was no life around for miles and it seemed as if the structure had been erected for this specific purpose. Upon entering Vermillion could see candles placed all around the room and there were people standing at what looked to be random positions around the room and he did not see Rasputin anywhere. There were some dark, unlit corners so it was possible he was there. Looking up, he saw a hole in the ceiling that allowed moonlight to shine down into the center of the structure. Things were starting to look bad as Vermillion walked into the light because once he did, all the other people that were in the room moved closer and altered their positioning making them look like they were in more of a patter. Zarkovich looked around very sharply, and then noticed some sort of symbol or design on the ground that he was not in the center of it. Was that always there? Why hadn't he noticed earlier? What was going on here...? Suddenly, Vermillion caught Rasputin emerging from the shadows behind him. He then powerfully asked what was really going on here. Rasputin said nothing as he walked closer to Vermillion with his hands in either of his sleeves like a monk. Vermillion tried to take a step back but felt an odd force keeping him in place, his eyes shot back trying to see if there was anyone there holding him, but nothing. WHen he looked forward again, Rasputin was now very close to him. He spoke, thanking him for being such a good friend. Zarkovitch's eyes widened as he realized what was happening here but it was too late, he felt an extreme pain in his gut and saw that Rasputin had stabbed him. Who or whatever this man was, Vermillion did not know anymore. He fell to his knees holding the wound as Grigori pulled the knife out. Following, he revealed a book and flipped it open to a specific page. Rasputin took the blood stained knife and wiped it off on either side of the book's pages. Vermillion was still doubled over in pain wondering if this was all he needed and asked him Why in a very choked up voice. He simply replied that he needed a sacrifice. Rasputin closed the book and slashed at Vermillion's throat, making contact with his jugular vein. Zarkovitch immediately put his hands on his throat as he began to bleed uncontrollably. He felt his body going cold and consciousness sprinting away from him, he needed to activate his ability. It was near impossible to concentrate as he choked on his own blood seeing the end approaching. Though at the last moment his body took over and began glowing a golden color, illuminating the entire room. Rasputin yelled at the other individuals in the room telling them to keep their focus. Vermillion's body gave off a shockwave as it began healing itself, but at the same time Rasputin's ritual continued. Screams of the dead echoed through the night and demonic shadows lined the walls. Rasputin was calling out commands in an unknown language, but things started to go wrong as the shadows and apparitions began to circle Vermillion. His healing was nearly complete and the golden light began to subside and the darkness continued its reign. A dark spiraling orb encased Vermillion and Rasputin ran up to it, trying to disturb what was happening only to be violently thrown back by an invisible force. The orb then blasted outwards and destroyed the foundation of the structure causing it to collapse in on everyone.
It seemed like an eternity had passed before Zarkovitch regained consciousness. Fortunately he had not been harmed by the collapsing building, but he could not say the same about the others. Seeing his reflection in a piece of shattered glass his face had changed. It turned out that when one genetic make up is killed, his body takes over and completely replaces it. He had so many questions as to what had just happened, he did not feel the same, as if there was someone else sharing his entire being. The sun was rising and Vermillion began to make his way back to where he last remembered he was...
Over the next few months, Vermillion experienced night terrors, visions, voices, and many other supernatural occurances. The only explanation was whatever had happened in that barn so many nights ago. These happenings toyed with his mind and tore down his sanity, he stayed in for days, even weeks at a time just screaming in agony as these monsters tore at the walls of his brain. One morning, Vermillion woke up with no pain, no voices or anything. Without a second thought, he went out to try and enjoy one day without going mad. Sitting in a park with his day coming to a close, things in his line of vision began to warp in to odd shapes and literally melt right before his eyes. He knew he was still in public and that this must have been one of this crazy visions, so he got up and started to make his way home. He could feel himself walking in a very erratic path, hopefully the people around would just think he was intoxicated or something. However there was just one, poor, helping soul that wanted to know if he was doing okay. He put his hand on Vermillion, who was very startled, jumped around and grabbed the man's arm. This man looked very surprised at his reaction time, but took a sharp breath as something within him changed. His hair turned from blonde to a gunmetal grey color and his eyes from a light hazel color to an abyssal black. He then pulled away, but the damage had been done. The man's skin began to turn white and his teeth began to sharpen. The man's screams snapped Vermillion out of his strange trance, whatever he had done to this man he could tell that it was painful. He did not want to see the end of this so he ran back to his house. After this incident the voices had stopped but the damage had been done, he had also noticed that he had a bit of hemorrhage in his left eye.
A month or so later, Vermillion heard a knock on his door in the middle of the night, when he opened the door he came face to face with a creature that he thought was only of legend. He fell backwards and scrambled to a corner in his house. The human-wolf beast slowly followed him and went in to attack but the beast could not bring itself to harm Vermillion. After a moment, he realized what this was, this beast must be the man whom he had cursed when he startled him. Vermillion deeply apologized and had no idea what he had done but he would do whatever he could in order to reverse it. The night passed and the man returned to normal. His hair was still grey but his eyes were now a silver-blue color and his skin had a regular pigment again. Vermillion started his investigation on these new abilities with this 'creation' of his at his side. Unfortunately they would need test subjects. The man volunteered to capture some subjects in order to further the studies, and as it turned out after some months of testing that Vermillion now had the ability to grant others supernatural abilities at the cost of his own body decaying. However, things worked rather well as he was still able to heal the damage caused to himself by using this new found power. He later worked out that he could revoke the powers he had given people and with it all the memories they had acquired with their abilities. Vermillion also received a bit of bodily rejuvenation when he took back the abilities he had granted someone. With this he took away the powers and memories of all the people he had kidnapped and experimented on and set them free. Vermillion asked the man if he wanted him to take away the abilities he had accidentally gave him ,the werewolf man told him that he had learned to control it and quite likes his abilities. He had planned on killing him for cursing him, but since it seemed that he could not he figured that he might as well help him along. His name was Alexander Ivanov and the twp became great allies.
The year was now 1914 and war was breaking out all across the world, the two quickly left the country but were caught up numerous times by bandits or others trying to get someone out of the current state of chaos that the world was in. Unfortunately the two were only able to make it as far as Germany. Their goal was to get themselves to America. Vermillion had practically watched that hunk of land turn into a thriving civilization over the course of his life. He watched that happen with a lot of places, a person sees many things in 600 years. Once in Germany, they tried their best to hide as the army was recruiting, but Vermillion had been caught. He left a note telling Alexander to stay hidden and that he would come for him once he was able to escape. At this point in time Zarkovitch was able to heal himself in a very discreet manor that way if he were shot on the battle field, he could play dead and get out. In the scenario where Vermillion found an opportunity to get himself killed, he dove in front of a fellow solider to take a bullet. Unfortunately this solider was to grateful and took Vermillion to a hospital tent in order for his wounds to be tended to. Against Zarkovitch's wishes he survived and made a full recovery. He was annoyed with how long his body actually took to heal a wound. Vermillion met his savior learning is name to be Adolf Hitler. The war ended in 1918 and the two stayed in contact. Vermillion eventually found Alexander who had remained in hiding for nearly 4 years going out to feed every full moon. Zarkovitch found it dangerous that he kept going out so he temporarily took away his abilities. He promised him that he would give him powers again soon, but only when the time was right. Keeping tabs on Hitler, he found that he was a well decorated war hero and was now involved in politics. After a failed coup d'etat in 1923 Hitler was imprisoned. History was starting to repeat itself, though Vermillion needed to keep his comments to himself because not even Alexander knew of how long he had been alive. Adolf was released after a short sentence in 1924, but was still getting support. When Vermillion heard that Hitler had become chancellor in 1933, he granted Alexander back his abilities. However he only now had an greatly increased level of strength and endurance, his appearance did not change at all.
Vermillion wanted to so badly contact Adolf somehow in order to try and stop him, he could tell that things were not going to go well, and just as he had predicted in 1939 he invaded Poland setting off a spark and causing the second World War.
Months later, there was a knock on Vermillion's door. He knew this day wold come and he warned Alexander not to give a struggle and everything would be okay. Nazi soldiers broke down the door and took the two of them captive. When they awoke again they were sitting in a office tied to chairs with a desk in front of them. The chair turned around to reveal Adolf Hitler. Vermillion asked what the meaning of this and Hitler responded telling him that ever since that moment in the trenches when he took the bullet for him he always wondered. Saying that Vermillion should have died from the gun wound he thought that there might be more to him than meets the eye. So with that Vermillion and Alexander were placed in custody of scientists. When they arrived at the lab they were strapped down and prepared to be operated on. Vermillion asked one final word with his friend, the scientists weren't allowing it but a blond woman stood up for him and allowed him to speak. He told Alexander that they needed to get out of there, and with that he broke free of the restraints and freed his friend. Alexander proceeded to trash the entire place but leaving the scientists alive. However, as they were about to exit the lab they hear the falling sound of a bomb. Alex, reacting quickly, grabbed Vermillion and the girl who allowed him to speak and held them under his body to shield them form the explosion.
When everything settled he found that Vermillion was slightly scratched up but the girl had taken a lot of damage. Zarkovitch ran over to her and attempted to heal her, but for some reason his abilities were not working on this poor girl. He saw her regain consciousness and quickly asked her name. She told the two that she was Elena Vexus, Vermillion told her their names and thanked her for sticking up for them earlier. The two of them dropped her off at the nearest hospital and went on their way. Vermillion and Alex ran and ran through war torn lands just trying to stay safe. They caught wind that the Nazi party was looking for them due to the destruction of the lab. Hopefully this war would not last too long and they would be able reach a peaceful and safe land. Their goal was America but in 1941 they heard that the Japanese had bombed them causing them to enter the war as well. The only thing that they could do was keep moving and keep hidden for as long as possible.
The war was finally over in 1945 with the American invasion on D-Day and the two of them were finally able to take refuge in the United States. They were not the only ones, hundreds of thousands of people made their way to the United States in hopes of starting a new life. Vermillion and Alexander had to change their names in order to blend in more. Alexander's name was simply shortened to Alex and changed his last name to Smith. Vermillion's now third name was now Vincent Smith. The two entered the country as brothers and moved up to Maine. It seemed like a simple place and out of the way of the rest of the country. While in this country the two of them kept pretty quiet. Vermillion did a little bit of research and some heavy paperwork in order to transfer all of his money over. Everything that he has ever earned, 700 years of work. He just claimed inheritance because if he claimed to be the owner of the money than things would start to get complicated. He became very aware to him that money was an extremely powerful thing in this new world, and with him now having so much of it he could probably make something of himself.
After living in Maine for 20 years, the two of them packed up and resumed their lives in The Empire State. The two of them both worked simple, low income jobs just to seem like normal Americans. On Vermillion's lunch break he stopped into a coffee shop just to relax and read the paper. He noticed a man staring at him from across the way, there were weird people in this city so he though nothing of it. However a few seconds later he heard the chair on the other side of the table pull out, he lowered his paper to see that it was the man staring at him from before. He introduced himself as Al Muller. Vermillion had just read an article about him and something about Veterans. This 'Al' spoke to him as if he knew that Vermillion was not going to say anything. Muller told him that he could tell that, whoever he was, he had been alive for a terribly long time and just by the look in his eyes he could see what he had endured. Before the man left, Vermillion introduced himself as Vincent Smith. The two exchanged smirks, both knowing that the other was lying about something.
As years passed, Vermillion kept replenishing Alex's life as he did his own and as technology advanced it was starting to get more and more difficult for them to keep moving around. The two of them lived in many of the mid to mid-western states moving to Ohio, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and finally taking a substantial break in Maryland. They had spent 5 years in each state making the current year 2005, so much had changed over the centuries and all they could do was adapt to the changing world. Vermillion may be a fixed point in reality but it did not seem as if reality was a fix point in itself. In 2006 Vermillion made the decision to go to school. He aged himself down to a teenager and had Alex pose as his father. Vermillion really had nothing better to do, so he figured he would become a lawyer the hard way. Granted he did skip a few steps but those weren't too important. After acing his classes and establishing a social life he had applied and been accepted to Harvard. He earned his undergraduate degrees in 3 years and proceeded to law school for an additional 5. Even for Vermillion the Bar was difficult but he passed in the upper tier of his class.
The year was 2014 and Vermillion took his law practices out to the east coast. He and Alex decided that it was time for a change of scenery so they moved out into the LA area. Working some cases here and there he kept the money up, not even having to once touch the ancient reserves he's had for centuries.
Vermillion felt the need for change. Another Renaissance, bring everything back to the time that he knew best. Adapting to all of this movement and forwardness is not what the world should be about. The hierarchy of kings and queens, the separation of classes. It all kept people in order and in line. With today's technology, war can be contained and eradicated. The ideals of peace will spread just as they did centuries ago. Nation by nation will realize what good can be brought about the new reformation and will have no choice but to conform. All Vermillion needed was an army, it may take time but creating perfect soldiers would prove to be a simplistic task. A mere touch and any human can become unstoppable in his hands. In order to work in the shadows while not be recognized he developed a sort of Renaissance esque masquerade costume with a mask that had a voice changer in order to further protect his identity. Already being in law, Vermillion had good reputation and was able to become a US Senator. He's seen other attempts to conquer the world all end in failure. Vermillion Zarkovich intended not to allow history to repeat itself.
Powers: Vermillion's first discovered ability was high speed regeneration. The power is constantly at work keeping his body free from toxins and diseases as well as activating on surface wounds when needed. The healing area glows a golden color and as it regenerates, the excess energy flows off and dissipates. He may also turn his body back in time, in such a situation his entire being glows with a golden light as the aging process is reversed. He may activate this ability at will for minor damages or if he wishes to 'unage' himself. Vermillion may also undo a complete genetic reformation which does not happen at will. If he withstands a fatal injury or takes substantial damage his body will take over and completely change his genetic make up while also healing whatever damage he may have taken. His body will begin to glow a golden color and as the peak of his regeneration nears the light will become brighter. During the major point of the regeneration a shockwave is given off and the golden light becomes white with intensity. Once the process is finished, Vermillion will have a completely different look to the point where gender may even change.
Vermillion's second power grants other human beings supernatural abilities at the cost of his own body decaying. The order of what decays is random but the vital organs are last. The abilities granted also tend to be random unless Vermillion focuses specifically on something. The only ability he cannot grant is increased intelligence and he may only give one ability per person. He may revoke the abilities of only an individual to whom he has granted powers. The people with abilities from Vermillion cannot harm him. He cannot give people abilities who already have them nor can he take them away. He cannot activate his healing right after granting abilities. (1 post.) And may not grant abilities greater than his own (Stat cannot exceed seven)). He may also heal those whom he has granted abilities to but only while they retain their abilities from him.

Re: Vermillion Zarkovich
Powers given cannot put someone over 6 in that stat, and turning into someone else at the end of regeneration will make your regeneration power at 5 with 1 for the shapechange.
If that's okay then it's approved.
