Personality: Alexa is selfish, pure and simple. The woman has little issue lying, cheating, stealing, or other distasteful actions to further her own ends. Still, she isn't without heart. She's adopted part of a Robin Hood style of thievery. Steal from the rich and give herself...and the poor, sometimes...if she feels like it. She has an ego, and it shows. She also likes messing with people she meets, getting kicks by driving them up the wall.

Despite that she does have a good side. It's hard to spot, but it's there. She doesn't like anyone suffering more then needed, and only takes lives when she feels it's really needed. Above all else, however, Alex is moved to compassion when she sees a child crying.

History: Alexa's true beginnings are a mystery to all, even her. She was found shivering in an alleyway at about seven years of age, naked and out cold. When she awoke, Alexa had no memory, no past, nothing. She did not even know how to talk. Despite heavy searching, no parents were ever found, and Alex went to live at the local orphanage.

It took some work, but she learned how to talk and behave. This was how she discovered she was very skilled, and a fast learner in both mind and body. Despite being behind at first, she started to surpass her fellow orphans with surprising speed. She was reading fluently in under a year.

Her skill, far from making her popular, made her a bit of an outcast. This was partly the envy of the other children without her skills, and part that she could not help but show off a little. This lead to her ego, and the bad habit of looking down on others.

Over time, she also noticed another unusual factor, one that passed outside the realm of human ability. By willing it, good things frequently happened to her, while those she hated had bad things happen to them. When she was 16 and ran away from the orphanage, she used this power to make her fortune at casinos and card tables.

In time, she picked up a lot of skills through her fast learning and luck, and set out to make it big...no matter who's toes she had to step on to get there.

Powers:

Unbound by Fate: All of Wildcard's power stems from one attribute, she is untouched by fate and destiny, save for that which she writes for herself. To elaborate, whenever someone or something predicts the future, be it a microsecond away or thousands of years, Wildcard was the blind spot in that prediction, self-fulfilling prophecy included. In addition, when someone tries to see her future, they get a blank. She is the personification of the butterfly effect.

She might casually KO someone in a bar who didn't take no for an answer, and inadvertently prevent that same scumbag from killing a political figure that same day, thus preventing the spark that started a war that was prophesized to start by a wise oracle.

Probability Manipulation: This is the natural extension of her fate-nullifying powers. While the former just made her free of all prediction of the future, this allows her to manipulate the outcome of events through will alone.

She views this as her personal 'luck powers' and uses them to her advantage. She can boost her own fortune, which can cause bullets to miss her and her own shots to strike true. It can also benefit her in a multitude of ways, although she can't control how her good luck will appear, just that it will. It also only works on her, or inanamate objects she interacts with, since only she is 'Unbound by Fate'. This inabbility to affect other people is why Alexa was never adopted.

It does have other limits. The lucky or unlucky change has to be something that could have happened on it's own. Someone can't spontaneously combust, the rock she sits on won't turn into gold, and Highlander 2 will never be a good movie. The only semi-exception to this is the Schrödinger's cat scenario. If the factors involved are unobserved, then they might just 'happen' to be what is needed.

Another thing to recall is the less likely something is to happen normally, the more effort it would take to 'make' it happen.

In combat, the power must be used in a specific way. a 1D6 (1D7 if EP ever reaches 7) is rolled to decide the outcome whenever her power is used. The results effect the NEXT post and what happens. Levels of luck allow combat to go her way with ease...or turn against her.

Roleplay Sample:

"Bullshit!" Tomas roared, throwing his cards onto the table in disgust.

"Oh, having trouble are we?" a playful voice asked rhetorically from across the table. It wasn't seductive though, this was the tone of someone mocking you. Tomas knew it too.

This girl had walked in and cleaned house. Everyone at the table who had not ducked out while they could was down a lot of money. Sure she lost a few hands, but...strange as it sounded, it felt like she had given them those hands.

"Yea, and the trouble is the cheating bitch right in front of me." he hissed. The rest of the table had gone silent as they watched the exchange. All of them suspected cheating, but none of them could tell how she did it, even though all eyes were on her. Tom didn't care anymore, he just knew...and he was calling her out on it.

To everyone's surprise, the young woman just laughed at that. "Oh, 'cheating bitch' huh? been a while since I heard that one. Wanna take this outside big man?" she said, still mockingly.

Tom was not one of those nice guys who held doors open for women, so he would not shy away from this. He gave a short nod and marched outside.

When Tom came to the next day, he decided that there were other safer hobbies besides playing cards...like shark wrestling.
