What lies beneath

"I guess they'd didn't figure on someone trying to go off roading with this thing when they built it." Noah kicked the mud filed tired of the unnamed car which had slowly sunk into the swamp as they attempted to drive through the wet lands. "How close are we anyway?"

Connor was sitting on the hood of the car, his wristtop computer opened and he was tapping away at the keyboard. "It isn't to far from here, about a quarter mile north east." Standing up from the hood, Red started walking in the direction of the shack. Blue sighed and followed his partner north east to where the computer back at the Exposition Hall had directed them. It wasn't long after they began their trek that they saw a small building in the distance. No doubt it was the 'shackiest' looking shack they had ever seen. "So I take it I removing my helmet..."

"Could be lethal for your health. Those reading were old and we can assume they've only gotten worse." Connor continued to lead the way before stoping. Squinting his eyes, he careful observed the area around the shack before widening his eyes. "Don't get any closer..." Connor tapped his equip and pulled out a throwing disc. Noah stopped walking and readied his SMG which was still loaded with live ammunition. "Hostiles?" He asked, before noticing himself there was some sort of distortion around the shack.

Connor threw the disc towards the house and watched as it vaporized into dust. "Well, we aren't getting in that way." Noah quick flipped opened his wristtop computer and searched for any wireless connections. " aside from the massive signal disturbance caused by the force field and radiation." He closed it, sighing hopelessly while looking at the shack. "Doesn't seem to be any wireless signal, so I doubt you'll be able to hack it. Probably goes off some remote one way signal that whoever built this place made."

"Good observation." Red said bluntly, having come to the same conclusion but was glad to see how much Noah had grown since they first meet. Noah was a normal guy given a special gift from a special person in which Connor had given him the training and know how to use for the betterment of mankind. "Stay this distance away from the building and we'll both circle around and meet on the other side. Look for anything we can use or that is out of the ordinary. I highly doubt there is only one way into this place." Red moved to the left as Blue went to the right.

"I wonder..." Noah switched his head gear over to thermal imagery and managed to pick up a fine outline of the shield. "Hey Red" He spoked over their intercom, though it was choppy. "Thermal imagery picks up the shield outline, looks like it is just a bubble over the shack." Noah kept his eyes peeled, seaching the area around the shack and around the general area. "Good to know, thanks for the update. See anything?"

"Negative...maybe who ever runs this place was a little to cocky and only made one..." Noah was suddenly cut off by Connor. "Found something...looks like our best chance but you might not like it." Noah made his way around the building and found Connor looking down a long tube which went into a hill. "Please tell me that isn't what i think it is..." Noah hoped down a next to Connor and looked down the dark tunnel. They both turned off their thermal imagery and stared into the darkness. "I think ill take my chances with the force field..."

Noah went to turn away and head up towards the shack agai nto see if he could push the field out of the way but Connor placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "Sorry, but this is the only way." Noah lowered his shoulders and turned again. "Well, at least we have the suits on." Connor climbed back up the hill and Noah followed. "We better wait for shalala and the others to arrive before we proceed. There is no telling What Lies Beneath."

"Alright, then we just keep an eye out and make sure no body leaves. Saves me from going into the crapper tube for a bit." Noah and Connor started patroling the area again, awaiting for the arrival of their other teammates.

Shalala Was soaring through the trees towards the swamp,her repairs had been quick and solid. She was instructed by her master Warren to go ahead of him to the swamp and assist Red and Blue. She came upon the eletric car they had left in noting them over to the side of the shack. She turned off the thrusters in her legs and dropped to the ground wlking over to where they stood. " Master Warren sends his regards, and will be here in the space of fortyfive mniutes to one hour and fifteen minutes tops. " She informed Red, " I've also been told to follow your orders and assist you anyway possible." She said brandishing her modified AK-47. Glancing at the tube in the ground she looked questioningly at Red.

Shalala had arrived, just as planned by their group back at the Exposition Hall and she had informed them that Warren along with Violet would arrive within two hours of time approximately. "Exellent." Red stated simply, tracing Shalalas' gaze into the tunnel knowing she was wondering why they were standing before such a grotesque looking excuse for a sewage tube. "This looks like our only way into the facility, the rest of the shack is shielded by a force field that disintergrates anything that touches it." Connor had more than enough evidence to conclude there was some sort of complex of sorts besides the small shack in this swamp that was probably underneath them.

"Lucky us right?" Noah added, coming up from behind the two after finishing surveying the surrounding area. "There does seem to be a damn thing anywhere besides that shack. I'd hate to ask but do you think we should take a sample of the sewage to test and see what is being dumped?" Blue pointed towards the end of the tube which a green substance was dripping from its edge. Connor opened his wristtop computer and pressed a button which ejected a small needle which he lightly dipped into the ooz. He then inserted it back into his computer and sighed. "It will take a while for the computer to sort out the different elements of the..." Red looked at the ooz with a slight bit of disgust, pausing briefly in his speech. "...sample" He decided to call it rather than the variety of other names one could call it.

Red stood up and looked towards Shalala, "Our long ranged communications don't work with the atmospheric disturbance caused by the radiation. Of course, we use a standard communication system with boosted security encryption. Do you and Warren have a better means to communicate so that we might inform them of our situation so we can carry on into the tunnel towards our destination?" Connor asked politely, knowing full well how advanced Shalala was and that they would surely have some better form of commuication or at least some way to boost their signal to break past the disturbances caused both by the radiation and the natural effect the shield surrounding the city has on signals.

Shlala listened to his request quickly going through all of her datain order to help out as Warren had asked of her. She sighed, a simple task even though she had no need of air, but she understood the pretexts of it. "I am sorry i have no way to boost your signals," She began, "but if Master's mask is fixed I can send a short message directly to it, the mask holds my masterkey allowing me access to a few of its functions remotley." She told Red hoping that the information that would be helpful. "And after the message is sent i will go down first to check for any danger." She said indicating the tunnel, she was a capable scout and she was wanting to catch up on the action she had missed, her memories prior to her reboot in the lab were foggy so any info she could gain from this point could be helpful.

The creatures stalked through the swamps surrounding the farm house. They remained completely silent, even as they sloshed through the thick swamp mud, and their coloration provided them with perfect camouflage against the backdrop of the swamps, which meant that most things did not notice them until it was too late. They were hunters; created to be the perfect predators, and their prey was right there, seemingly oblivious to their presence. The creatures continued stalking forward; there were twenty in total in a wide arc around the unsuspecting prey. There was no curiosity from the creatures regarding two of the beings outside the tunnel; they gave off the same heat as the rest that the hunters had come across, but there was one that did not. If the creatures could be unnerved, they would have been, however such a feeling was beyond them and the unique one would simply become a unique target.

One of the creatures became, perhaps, a bit too focused on the prey in front of it and put too much of its weight forward onto a fallen tree limb which caused it to snap loudly. Not wanting to lose its element of surprise, the creature picked up its pace to a breakneck speed while the others held back to their current positions. Lunging out from behind the trees at the three, the creature was a horrid site. It was tiger-like and nearly fungal in appearance, with what appeared to be mosses and other growths coming off its large body. The creature was surprisingly quick for its size; it began to close the distance between Red, who was the closest to it, and itself rapidly. The Creature let loose a deep, terrifying growl as it pounced at him.

"Thats good, see if you can-" Red looked over just in time to watch as a bazar creature erupted from cover and bolted towards Connor. "Hostiles!" He called out, as he raised his gun but realized he would not be fast enough. Noah reacted a little later than Connor, but he wouldn't need a gun to handle this creature. Though horrid as it was, Noah was more worried about the safety of his friend than what the hell the monster was. So without hesitation he sent out a powerful push towards the creature, the level of push he used was that of what he would use to toss a motored vehicle into the air. Connor would follow up Noahs counter attack with a spray of bullets for good measure to see just what this creature could handle.

"Shalala, get that message out ASAP tell them we've encountered the enemy!" Connor was determined to stand his ground, with the tunnel to their backs they had some sort of an escape route incase there was more than just one, which he wouldn't doubt in the least. Noah now had his gun shouldered and fired at the beast as well.

Shalala moved back away from the starting fight quickly arranging the message and sending it, before pulling out her AK-47 and unleashing a barrage of bullets at the creature. She prayed that her master was nearly through or better yet on his way right now. She wasn't used to direct combat scenarios she was a gorilla tactic fighter who moved from cover to cover while her enemy was distracted. She cursed,something she wouldn't let Warren hear her do as she turned on her jets and they stalled due to the partially wet ground putting out the flames, she looked around and spotted a dry fallen tree she would be able to take off from there. "I have sent the message Mr. Red She called out as she ran for the tree, gun still trained at the beast.

With the message send, Connor called out to his conrades. "Fall back into the tunnel" Just as he gave the order more charged out. The first creature was dead and it didn't seem like the others were to happy. As they retreated into the tunnel Noah and Connor layed down supressive firepower on the creatures. The bullets weren't to effective but throw enough of fire power at them and they would go down. However, with thier incredable speed Noah had to use his powers more than twice to push them back.

Connor spotted a maintenance hatch which was very well their only chance but it seemed to have an electronic lock. "Shalala, Blue, cover me and i'll get the lock open!" The door was up a three step stair way with railing which Connor took hold of, pulling himself up and over the railing. He quickly tore open the control console for the lock mechanism and started working on the wires.

Noah took a pop shot at one of the nearby creatures, the shot piercing through its eye and scrambling its brains. He then used his powers to push one back which was charging towards Shalala. "Get that damn door open." Noah was feeling strained, the creatures moved so fast and pushing them back repeatily was tiring him out.

Shalala Scrambled in the hole after Red and Blue covering them with her machine guns. She pepered ones face at point blank before it was moved back. She heard red yell to cover him while he tryed to open a hatch. She unloaded her gun cursed and quickly reloaded it as one of the beasts jumped at her, she reopened fire hitting it in the under arm joint, causing it to fall back and screech in pain, " they are weak under their joints aim for them!" she called as she pelted the retreating figure to stop it from charging again.
she had nio idea if there were more out there or not, she was actually scared that when warren got their she would be strown across the ground in peices. she prayed something she hadn't done before even though she was nearly always in a nun suit, that warren and violet would arrive soon.
