A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Archer Roland June 10th 2011, 10:37 am

It was another hot summer day in New York with temperatures well into the hundreds, not really an issue for Frost since he could cool himself but it was still dangerous for the people on the street below. The hero was patrolling the city yet again, something he found himself doing more and more often in these passing days, and he was trying to keep an eye out for whatever trouble presented itself on this fine day. The only problem was that it seemed even the villains that normally plagued New York were trying to find shelter from the heat as well and nothing seemed to really be happening. Some people were out shopping and a group of girl scouts casually pulled a wagon full of cookies, just a typical day.

A snowflake touched the hero’s nose and he quickly wiped it away, paying no attention to the odd flake. A moment passed and nothing else seemed to be going on so Frost sat down on the buildings ledge and watched a few more snowflakes drift to the ground, not even trying to melt in the heat of the day. Then it struck the hero, it was too hot for there to be snow falling, he had not even paid enough attention to realize that there was anything wrong with the picture but sure enough it was snowing.

Now it is time for the whole of New York City to ‘chill,’” a man dressed in a parka shouted to the street, which was still relatively deserted. “I am Johnny Snow and I’m here to make your world blue,” he then let out a laugh that was not really all that evil. “When I say ‘blue’ I mean cold,” he explained. This guy did not appear to be a very clear threat but Frost was ready for any kind of action today.

I guess that’ll do,” Frost said with a sigh of depression as he gave the ‘villain’ another skeptical look before he made his way down the fire escape. “Time to kick some mediocre ass.”

(Get ready for snow puns folks)
Ace was walking across the rooftops, the heat was well I the hundreds and Ace didn't really care, wherever he came from it was hot.
He made his way to a fairly deserted street, there was a couple of guys, one guy was in a parka "thats weird, it's like.." Ace looked up "...snowing, what the"

The man In the parka said something about turning new york blue. Usually he would let nutters like this slide but it had Been a slow day and he needed something to wake him from his boredom
Ace jumped down from the building in full spandex, powering up and tapping the man on the shoulder, clenching his fist,  ready to fight...

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Archer Roland June 10th 2011, 5:06 pm

Johnny Snow felt a hand touch his shoulder and jumped slightly in surprise, giving a little squeak in response and truly showing off his manly attitude. He turned and saw what appeared to be a small boy, sighing with relief visibly, and said with an insulting tone, “I thought you might be one of the more serious heroes but you’re only a little boy.” Johnny snow then pointed his freeze ray gun at the little hero and with a sinister smile said, “I think I’ll have to give you a freezing rain check.” Then the villain looked up and scratched his chin and said, “When I say freeze rain it’s because I’m going to freeze you.”

Frost landed safely on the ground and began sprinting towards the villain and what appeared to be another hero, dressed in full spandex no less, although Frost really had no room to mock sense he had his spandex hero suit on as well. Only one though raced through Frost’s mind as he ran, ‘I have to make sure that kid will be alright,’ it repeated itself over and over. The parka clad idiot seemed to be harmless but there was never any way to be sure, especially with some of the more odd villains he had run into in recent days.

Squeezing the trigger of his freeze ray gun, Johnny Snow had the young hero in his sights and right where he wanted him too, this would be his first achievement as a villain and all the other villains would have to take him seriously once he did it. The blue light began to emerge from the tip of the gun and a menacing hiss could be heard, something that could only be meant for sheer evil might be able to make. Then a delightful cloud of snow hit the boy square in the face, not deadly at all just a harmless snowball. “Wait, that wasn’t supposed to happen, give me a second so I can switch it to deadly mode,” Johnny Snow cried out in frustration.

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Sim June 11th 2011, 12:25 am

After making her way home from Germany and finding her dear friend recovered from her injuries, things began to look up for Sim. She decided to go to New York for two reasons: She heard it had lots of crime (Mostly from television. She was still learning the difference between news and entertainment.) and also secretly to see the sites. She had already broken many a muggers arm, and been at the top of the statue of liberty.

New York wasn't a bad place for her, because few people bothered to stop and look at her despite her odd attire and hair color. She wore a navy bodysuit that zipped up the front, with purple pants and jacket. Her long hair came down past her waist, and was blue! Her hands were covered with gold and black gloves, and her eyes were covered by dark sunglasses.

She was walking down the street eating a snack when she saw the criminal. Her "snack" was three bare hot dogs. Since she had saved a hot dog vendor from being collateral damage in a shootout he'd given her free hot dogs. She didn't enjoy the bread though, so just plain hot dogs were fine for her. She had wolfed them down by the time she saw the criminal with some kind of gun, and watched to see what would happen. When she realized he was going to try to shoot the human boy, she knew she couldn't give him the chance.

She rushed forward with a quickness towards the fool in the parka. "If you're looking for someone older, I bet I have a few years on you!" She held out her hand and blue lightning shot out, arcing in a circle around the villain's head. This lightning wasn't electric in nature exactly though, and froze what it touched. In it's wake, it left several small frozen particles floating around Snow's head. If you were close enough, you could hear a small crackle before all the particles exploded in little blazes like tiny fireworks. It wasn't enough to hurt anyone, but the sudden pangs of light were certainly enough to inhibit site or disorient someone for a second. That was what Sim was hoping for, a chance to end things quickly. She ran at him, reaching out with her right arm and attempting to use her strength to simply take the strange gun away from him with a quick snatch.

The Snow villain sent a snowball at his face
"I think you need to chill out" Ace said as he charged his fist
"Oh so it wasn't on deadly thats it, il help you with that", sent a bolt of electricity at the ray gun "Now if this gun actually works it should overload soon so I suggest you get away" Ace said sarcastically while walking backwards

He then realized 2 other people were coming for the guy, one in a full spandex suit, Ace chuckled slightly then realized he was also wearing one and stopped laughing, and the other was a girl with blue hair."2 strange characters" thought Ace. Ace realized they were both in the blast radius of this guys ray gun, if it did explode. He ran closer to them "Look out" yelled Ace, fear radiating in his voice.

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Archer Roland June 12th 2011, 1:41 pm

Johnny Snow stumbled backwards from the sudden flash of lightning from the mysterious little girl that had shown up from nowhere, just like the other lightning user before him. Then the little twerp before him touched his freeze ray gun and shocked it not that would do anything because it had been insulated just in case something with the wiring would go wrong. The villain accidently pulled the trigger of his weapon, being unable to aim because of the flashes of light blinding him, the beam hitting the side of buildings around him coating everything in a thick layer of ice that would not melt anytime soon unless something was done. The concrete and brick structures gave a heavy groan as the added weight threatened to bring everything down on the streets below it. Johnny fell to his knees and looked up to the hero in front of him and called so all the heroes present could hear, “Are you ready to watch this whole city burn in the ice cold fires of my hatred.” The man was melodramatic and from the looks of things easily excited.

Frost moved as quickly as he could and approached the man from behind and grabbed him in a full nelson and attempted to keep him still so one of the other heroes could do something to knock him out or something. This guy was not very threatening by himself but he was determined to hurt innocent people and Frost would never let that happen. If he was not put down soon then he would be put down in a more brutal fashion by Frost but the hero hoped it would not come to anything more than that. How did always seem that he would have nothing but bad days in recent months?

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Sim June 13th 2011, 11:10 pm

Sim's attack seemed to be effective...sort of. The strange human began firing wildly, threatening the structural integrity of the nearby buildings. Another man apprehended the villain, so Sim set off the fix the damage her nonlethal barrage caused.

She approached the building with the thickest layer of ice and held her hands up do it, red-orange lightning flying from her arms and permeating throughout the layer of ice next to the building, changing the nature of the ice itself. With a crackled, the connecting layer of ice exploded in a fit of steam, melting much of the ice and causing it to fall down to the street below in a wave of warm water and icy slush. Sim hadn't thought too far ahead though, and was standing pretty close to the building...

A wave of warm water poured down on her, soaking her and knocking her sunglasses off. The water made her long hair look even longer, and slid down her slick clothes. Where the glasses were now her eyes were revealed, eyelashes glistening with beads of clear water. These prismatic beads only called attention to the unusual purple eyes, which were like jewels. Sim didn't allow herself a moment rest though, she ran to and fro using the same trick on the other buildings trying to remove the risk to the civilians.

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Ace June 14th 2011, 10:07 am

Ace saw the man go crazy with his ray gun, like a premature teenager getting over excited. The man behind him restrained the parka wearing freak, Ace punched him in the face with his left hand while using his right hand to grab the gun.
Ace aimed at the mans feet and fired restraining the man. He handed the gun to the hero man,"Here take this, see if there's a heat button."

Ace ran into a nearby appliance store, grabbing 2 hairdryers and putting the plugs up his sleeves, running out the store and setting the temperature to high. He climbed up a pipe and to the top of a building covered in ice,he looked down at the girl, She was covered in water, sunglasses of and her eyes a light shade of... Purple, " She's very pretty, almost..." thought Ace " Snap out of it!!!! .... Damn puberty".

Ace got on the large chunk of ice covering the front of the building, he sent power down his arms, turning on the hair dryers. "ok concentrate you need to melt this, without falling to the ground and dieing horribly." He aimed at either side of him melting down the panels on either side of him. He jumped onto a newly uncovered balcony melting down the panel he was on a second ago. 2 minutes later he was at the bottom, " One down, heaps more to go".
His feet were drenched but Ace didn't really care, he just needed to fix this.

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Archer Roland June 17th 2011, 4:56 pm

Johnny Snow had been frozen with his own gun and hit very hard across the jaw, eliciting more than a small cry of pain and a torrent of blood to gush from his busted lip. “What was that for? I’m just trying to freeze buildings, I didn’t hurt anyone,” the parka clad villain said through his teeth as he tried to breathe through all the blood. He looked up in time to watch the young boy run off and out of sight to try and unfreeze things as well. That left only himself and the other hero to speak who was still holding his gun freeze ray gun. “If you want me to tell you how to unfreeze everything you can just forget it. You’ll have to torture me first,” he then flinched as though he were afraid he would be punched again. Johnny Snow was nothing more than a sniveling coward.

“I don’t need a gun to thaw things,” Frost said with an air of superiority, it was hard not to feel better than the lowly criminal before him, but he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and instead moved his hands, freezing more of the villain’s legs. “I’ve got that part covered,” with that the last hero on the scene was off to help with the ice but there was not too much left. It looked like everything would be okay. Frost moved to the nearest building and concentrated on thawing the mass of ice attached to the side of the brick structure, not an easy thing to do, the ice was too high up for the hero to easily manipulate the ice but it was slowly thawing. Things were going to be okay, Frost was sure of that.

Reaching down to his boots, Johnny clicked a small button in either one while he kept a close watch on the heroes still hard at work. Steam began to rise from the ice directly touching his footwear and a smile graced the face of Johnny Snow, it was looking like a perfect chance to escape. Pulling his feet from the block of ice, he left the arena of his short lived battle so he could plot for another day.

A Cold Fight in Hot New York Empty Re: A Cold Fight in Hot New York

Post by Sim July 3rd 2011, 12:10 am

The other two heroes set about thawing out ice. There methods were much slower than Sim's, but also a great deal safer. Sim was still soaked from the building she thawed. One was thawing ice with ease that proved he was more than the average human. The other was using hair dryers, something Sim was already familiar with, so she decided to help him. Sprinting over to the building he was slowly but surely thawing, she held out her hands crackling with fiery lightning. "Hey hair dryer boy, need some help?" Making sure he wasn't in the line of fire, she released her magic to melt the layer of ice between the building and sheet of ice. Just like the first time this sent a wave of slush down, but Sim was ready this time. She dashed backwards in a single motion with control that a skilled fighter would recognize as a sign Sim was more than she appeared. The slush hit the ground just in front of her, soaking into the street. Sim glanced over her shoulder to the criminal, and noticed there was melting ice there.

Sim rushed towards where he was, scanning the streets for him. Unfortunately, The city's mass of motion made it hard for Sim to pick the criminal out. She turned back to the other two. "Hey guys, the ice guy has run off!"
