Personality: The Brood is not an Entity, it is a species of predator creatures. Mindless, and driven by instinct. They only care about spreading through the entire planet until it is completely inhabited by The Brood. They have no compassion, even for their own kind. Their only objective is to either devour their victims, or use them as a host to reproduce more kin.

History: Known galaxy-wide as a plague, these creatures have destroyed civilizations and planets that were too unsophisticated to stop them from growing to infinite numbers. Usually, when planets become overcome by The Brood, they evacuate the planet, and wait for the creatures to die of starvation and then return. Most of its victims, however, either weren't sophisticated to reach outer space, weren't tough enough to survive outside their own planet, or decided to try and fight the creatures and drive them from their homes.

Alone, the creatures are vulnerable, and easily destroyed. However, together they become an unstoppable force when in plentiful numbers. Connected with a 'hive mind' similar to other creatures, they have the ability to 'sense' another's death or struggle. Some scientists have done research on the creatures brain patterns to decipher if it can be controlled as a weapon or reason with the creature. But such research is unavailable to Earthlings.

No species has yet to fully stop The Brood in its tracks. Some rumors have been spread of a Mother creature that controls them all. However, most knowledge about the Brood is completely unknown due to its destructive behavior. And how they got to earth, none have yet discovered.

5 EP - Acidic Spit: The Broodlings have a venom sac which allows them to store up an acidic substance in which they can spit at their enemies. The acid has been known to melt through almost any substance. The drawback is that since it is formed from within, they can only draw the spit every so often. They cannot fire it at will. (1 EP Spit per broodling, per 2 posts)

Asexual Reproduction: The broodlings must find a host in order to procreate. When they don't devour their victims, they use them for this purpose. They inject their eggs through their victims, and allow them to grow within the host until the broodlings are ready to hatch. Once injected, the eggs latch onto organs, making them impossible to remove unless you kill the host. However, once the broodlings spawn, the Host remains alive. Mostly for the young broodlings to feast while their opponent is weakened.

The Broodlings can only make a host out of unconscious victims, and further, they always drag them to their nest. (To avoid unwanted baby broodlings). Their victims can be male or female.
