Costume Description/Image: He doesn’t actually wear one, being a talking gorilla it’s not like he could disguise his identity easily. The money he makes selling his inventions and from the books he has written make him enough to afford stylish gorilla size clothes though.

Personality: Archie is a bit of what you would call an “absent minded professor” though he doesn’t necessarily lack in social skills he tends to get wrapped up in work which makes him a bit oblivious to the world around him, especially the emotions and needs of others but that’s not to say he doesn’t care about them. In fact he cares quite a bit. But his extreme intelligence has always made him feel slightly withdrawn and disconnected from the rest of the world and his new looks have only served to amplify those feelings. Archie usually covers those feelings up with humor.

History:
Born a child prodigy; Archie was gifted with intelligence even greater than that of some of the brightest scientists of the time by his late teens. By his mid-20’s he had already received his PhD in Genetic Engineering and was well on his way to receiving ones in Archeology and Robotics.

Fast forward ten years- Archie was a bestselling author of multiple groundbreaking works on various fields of study and a definite name among names in the scientific community when the government asked him to lead a team of scientists to a strange, recently discovered temple in the mountains of Africa.
The temple was unlike anything found in Africa before; it appeared to be some sort of a temple to a Gorilla deity, one long forgotten by man. Archie was the first to enter the temple and the only to exit it. Archie doesn’t remember much of what happened within the temple, just bits and pieces. A Gorilla Statue… diamond eyes… an explosion.
The next thing he knew he was wandering the jungle in the body of a gorilla with no idea how he became a gorilla and how long he had been one for, it had been three months. Upon his return to the US, the government kept him a secret for a few years while they studied him. Once they were satisfied they could gain nothing from him they allowed him to go public and return to his lab, which created media frenzy, but like eventually the professor ape’s 15 minutes of fame wore off and he faded into obscurity.
He’s spent almost all his time since the incident trying to understand what happened to him and develops a scientific cure for it, so far none have worked. He’s even contacted various psychics and other mystics but it seems none can help him solve this mystery.
One year ago Archie decided to use his abilities to help the world as a superhero of sorts and began reaching out to “outsiders” among the super powered like himself in order to form a team to handle threats that other heroes would otherwise not know of or ignore. 6 months later the Abnormals were formed.
