Shadow Rings.

Name:Shadow Ring
Abilities:Works like the green lanterns ring but is charged from shadow's When fully charged it can work without the shadows for a entire month with constant use. The shadows can take on the form of almost anything, A brick wall, A wrecking ball etc.
Description: Two simple rings one on both hand, The rings have a emblem in the center that let's Nightmare charge and release the shadows.

Hm. There needs to be a drawback. A simple one will do.

does your character really need an upgrade on his abilities?

Also, how do they work? Are they magic? How does Nightmare get such powerful relics? Are you planning on using a quest or roleplay scenario to explain it, or are you just going to act like he had them all along?

When running out of shadow Nightmare needs too absorb the shadows of two sky scrapers to recharge the rings for a whole month, This takes 30 minutes to do. In battle if he runs out he can absorb small things like a shadow of a wall or a persons shadow but they only give minimum attack.

Human shadow: 3 Attacks. Takes a second

Larger such as a wall: 6 attacks. takes 5 seconds

Bigger like a house: 15. Takes 2 minutes.

Etc.

That's going to pretty much make you choose between using one power or the other in most cases. Although I suppose the loophole is you can just open with the nightmare power, and then use shadow powers which is probably what happens anyway. Why does using one power mean he can't use the other?

and where did he get the shadow rings? They sound like powerful magic items, but that doesn't seem to fit into your history from what I recall. Try to bear in mind that the character is the focus, not how powerful the character is.

Also, what if he loses the rings? What if someone else put them on? Would they then be able to use Nightmare's shadow powers? Without the rings, can shadow use those powers?

From what NM tells me He is gonna make a history of how and why he made them in his character app. I found this drawback fine, and as an conceptual Item, I like and approve, NM has yet to own it as the character until his character history is edited.
