When Harvey isn't wearing his Fragment uniform, he usually wears a long black leather jacket, along with a dark red dress shirt, black tie, and a nice pair of jeans. He also wears black leather gloves to hide the fact that one of his arms is made of metal. He wears a black fedora with a white band also, but that's only because he likes the style.


Personality:
Harvey is calm, and concise person. He likes to plan things out to tiny details, although is very reluctant to let others in on them. He is the kind of person who is prepared to resort to lethal methods if necessary, but is always willing to negotiate his opponents surrender.

History:

Harvey Gotliebe was one of those kids who wouldn't take poor effort as an option. He excelled in school, graduated with honors, and finished degrees in particle chemistry and computer programming at a military college in California, and completed several years of service in the military. After his general service, he began doing work designing new styles of human weaponry, and in performing black ops squad missions. In-the-shadows type of Work. Off the radar. Real hush-hush.

The last experiment he ever monitored was during an investigation on a newly formed metal compound being designed by a professional team of scientists, mechanics, and programmers. The project was called "Operation Metal Storm" and was to create a metal compound that could almost act on it's own, given remote instructions. It would have reproductive capabilities, and an artificial intelligence brain to allow learning and decision making. This would literally create a living, transforming weapon, eradicating the need for human soldiers.

During the final touches of the experiment, an explosion occurred inside the lab, causing areas of the building to begin to crumble and collapse. While many of the workers began to evacuate the building in the fear for their own life, Harvey, prepared to risk his life for the work he and his colleagues had perfected, dove solely into the basement levels to retrieve their forgotten work. When he reached the storage room, he retrieved the canister containing the condensed final compound they had worked on, and proceeded to vacate, when suddenly a pair of large metal beams fell on him, one hitting his head, knocking him out, while the other crushed his shoulder, and dismembered his arm from his body. The metal was still safely protected by the rest of his body.

When he awoke the lab was in ruins, wires hung everywhere, rock and rubble lay strewn across the floor, and he could see no one in sight. He picked up the canister in his good arm, and proceeded to make his way over to the stairwell he had descended hours earlier. He painfully made his way upwards and outwards out of the collapsing building. When he emerged he could hear a large buzzing noise, and before he knew what hit him another large explosion overtook the lab in a giant blaze, knocking him and the container against a nearby rock pillar, breaking open the container next to him. The metal alloy slide out amidst the containing liquid, into a slowly gathering pool of blood that hat erupted from his stump wound again. As the loss of blood finally overtook his consciousness once more, he noticed the metal began to shift and change shape, then he felt a sharp sudden pain, and the world went black.

When he awoke, he found the metal allow had reconstructed, and attached itself to his body. It had reconstructed his arm and shoulder, and connected to his spinal cord and cerebrum.

Since that day Harvey made several discoveries: The first being that any trace of that experiment being conducted had been covered up. The second, that he had been reported killed in "a large experimental explosion". With these two pieces of knowledge in mind, he set off to explore the boundaries of his newly acquired tools, and to see what he could discover about "Operation Metal Storm".

Powers:
Fragment's main "power" derives from the living metal arm grafted to his torso, spine, and cerebrum. In the arm's neutral state, it appears like a normal metal arm, identical to his human arm, except with a much more durable build, and with more power to the punch. The metal is completely resistant to water, and to most immense heats.

Utilizing the connection from his brain, he can make the metal transmute and rebuild itself to nearly any shape he can imagine, and given his extensive military knowledge, it primarily gets used as his weapon of choice. In a case where the arm grows, it will not extend more than 3 feet past his normal arm length (Ex: His arm is two feet long. A metal spear/lance/thin solid shot would only extend to a maximum range of 5 feet)
His arm can take the form of firearms, and fire shots, but in order for the arm to make up for lost metal, the 'brain' in the metal's control unit extracts doses of blood from his body to recuperate iron. It then unifies the iron with the rest of the metal in the arm. The same will apply is pieces of the arm are scrapped or separated from the whole. In the case where Harvey has direct access to an iron source, other than his blood stream, he need only attach the arm to that source, and the arm will assimilate any necessary iron to repair itself.
Extreme over usage of the blood in his system can cause to unsteadiness in his head, blurred vision, nausea, and possible fainting. The arms central control is built to morph and contract to a stub attached to Harvey's shoulder in any case that he should lose consciousness. The arm's AI is programmed to never threaten the user's own life.

If Harvey has a access to some form of computer terminal or network, he can create a connection from his brain, through his arm (in the form of wiring), directly to the computer system, allowing manual access to to files, record archives, personal data, and other command functions. Since the connection acts like another computer working from his brain it does not require the powers of the arm to go beyond the input attachment, merely to to act as a highway for information travel, the rest is up to the brain.

Sitting on the edge of the beach was usually relaxing for Harvey, especially watching the sun set. He could listen to the waves roll, watch the tide come in and out, smell the salt air enter his nostrals.
Today, however, was different.
Today, Harvey...no, not Harvey.
Today, Fragment, had killed a person. The man, maybe mid twenties, had rushed into a convince store, and pulled a gun on the cashier, a male in his late teens. Harvey calmly had approached the man, and asked him why he was doing such a cowardly act.

Harvey drew a cigarette from his jacket pocket, and flicked his lighter, releasing a large cloud of smoke out into the air. "Stupid kids doing stupid things." he muttered to himself, following up with a disappointed sigh.

The older boy had turned and fired his gun at Harvey, and in his defense, raised his metal arm to protect himself. The bullet ricocheted off the arm, and into the boy's forehead.

Harvey didn't mean to kill him. It was strictly accident, but he still felt that the man still didn't have to die.

With a final draw on his cigarette, he placed it in the sand and crushed it beneath his foot. He drew up a handful of sand and let the grains trickle through his fingers.

"Someday..." he started, giving one last long glance out to the sea, "Someday they'll smarten up." He clenched the remaining grains of sand in his fist, and walked away from the setting sun.

hmmm it looks good. But I cannot help that the suspicion. Is this made off an already made hero/villian? Granted I do not know much of the DC/Marvel superhero world so finding parody characters is hard for me.

If its not Well I can go straight to approval. And If I find out that you lied to get quick approval. Ohhhh the consequences. I do not mind taking bits and pieces off a hero, but to make a character directly the same is illegal here.

It is a mix of Ed's alchemy on his arm and Generator Ex. Though, I don't know if there is a other hero with similer powers or not.
