A Night in Hollywood

Jack was feeling a bit eager through out the day. He was loving the attention citizens were giving him. Saving a couple of lives and ending up on the news was making him a bit of a celebrity over night. Maybe the fame was going to his head a little bit too much, but his overall goal remained the same; protect the people of this world. It was the right thing to do. He was still young however and young people do enjoy going out at night and painting the town.

Jack had just flown in from New York, but his arms weren't too tired. He landed just outside of a club in front of everyone. He was dressed in his usual attire. Black leather jacket, his black and red superman shirt, some dark jeans, and black shoes. The crowd quickly pulled out their phones to get video of him.

"Holy shit! It's John Doe. He's really real."
"I thought they were calling him Superman?"
"Not anymore. Something about the higher ups threatening to sue or something."

Jack walked to the front of the line where one of the bouncers was letting people in and out. Of course he was going to let Jack in right away. Before Jack entered he looked back towards the line and saw two very attractive ladies. Both were decked out in high heels with skimpy black dresses. He pointed towards both of them and signaled for them to come up with him.

"How are you ladies doing tonight?"

Jack walked into the club with his arms around both of their waists. First stop would be the bar. However it was pretty crowded in there. Jack lifted the girls onto his shoulders flew over the crowd to the bar. The people inside began to cheer at him. Maybe he was becoming arrogant and cocky, but Jack had never been popular before he gained his powers. At least now people loved him. After a few drinks, the girls wanted to get on the floor and start dancing.

"You go on ahead ladies. I'm gonna have a few more."

As the two went on the dance floor, another woman showed up to take her place.

"Hello. You must be John Doe? Mind if I just call you John?
"John is just fine and what brings a lovely creature such as yourself over here."

She immediately put a tape recording down on the table. Looked like she was a reporter.

"I'm with the channel 6 news. I just wanna ask you a few questions."
"Well I guess that's fair. You're the first who's ever been able to corner me for an interview."
"Where did you from?"
"Born on Earth. Sorry, but I'm not from another planet."
"How did you get your powers?"
"To be honest I'm not really sure. I can't really get into it though."
"What exactly are your powers?"
"Hmmm... So far I know I've got super strength, speed, durability, enhanced healing, etc. Put it simply everything about me is... Super."
"Do you have X-ray vision?"
"Nope. That was one of the first things I wanted to test out too."

The interview continued on for a few more minutes, before she got everything she needed. Jack took one last drink before wanting to hop on the dance floor with some hotties.

((dude, you're in new york... You can do one plot-advancing RP at a time, i think (I'm not an admin, but that's what Viva said to me once before...) and right now you have two potentially plot-advancing RPs... Is one just for fun or what? Sorry, Im confuzzled))

OOC: Wow stalking my posts. Nah jk. Anyway I read through the rules when I first got here and I didn't see anything about only being able to post in one area at a time. Either that I'm blind and missed it. It's just easier to say that each story it taking place at a different time.

okay... sorry i just dunno exactly how this place works yet either.. Ill join this thread.. I have plans for a character is she ever gets approved.. but i'll have to wait... XD

Talia smiled to herself, pushing her way through the crowd to a bar, congratulating herself on lying her way into an 18 or older club. She looked about two years older than 13, but she still was surprised thats he'd managed to get in.

They must have crappy security here... She thought, sitting at a stool and getting a water, which they didn't card for. She didn't do drugs anyway, in her opinion, they were stupid and a complete waste of time. Talia looked around, couples getting hot on the dance floor, drinks, smoke, plenty of overage boys.

Talia stood and walked a little farther along the bar, trying to find a less crowded spot. She was only here because she liked to dance, but the club was really packed that night and the boys all had girls, anyway. Just as shed decided to call it a night and leave, Talia saw a familiar letter S before the crowd shifted again.

that guy... Jon Doe or whatever... she thought. I've got nothing better to do... So she decided to try to find this guy. She ran into a few people, almost getting lost in the crowd a couple times, but eventually she saw him being questioned by a woman with a recorder.

"Hi," Talia says, seeking his attention. She liked to get to know people. She pulled up a stool on the other side of the guy "jon". "I think i recognize you. You're Jon, right? Dont you ever get tired of wearing that shirt?"

Jack was about to hop onto the dance floor with the girls he had brought in when all of a sudden, another girl approached him. She was pretty, but she looked very young and Jack wasn't interested in jail bait, but this was an 18 and over club. That had to of meant she was at least 18. He pointed at the bartender to poor him another drink as the girl pulled up a stool next to him.

"Yeah that's what people call me. And you? What's your name honey?

The bartender poured Jack a glass of Jose Cuervo. He took a shot of it and looked back at the girl.

"Actually I gotta few of 'em. Wouldn't be very hygienic to be wearing the same thing all the time."

"heh, 'Honey'?" TAlia laughed at him. "ah, well... I guess that makes sense... But what i emant is that t seems like it might be nice to just have some peace once in a while. Everyone knows who you are and recognizes you, don't you ever just want to me you?"

Talia put a fishnet-gloved hand under her chin.

Jack wasn't always parading around like now. When he wasn't in his transformed state, he was just a regular every day nerd. It was almost like that movie The Nutty Professor. Which did make Jack think for a second. Who was the real identity. Plain old nerdy Jack Romero or the crime fighter that the people have come to know as John Doe.

"I do get a lot of peace and quiet. I tend just to float around at high altitudes or fly over some quiet place. Besides the crowd doesn't bother me too much. It's those damn paparazzi who are always trying to catch you at your worst that piss me off."

i know what you mean... Talia smiled wryly, having had her first and only encounter with the paparazzi recently. Her powers were simply more... lethal. "And i actually mean that. The reason i even came over here is because i want to talk to someone who... Is kinda like me." She bit her lip.

"I have powers... They're god ones, i think... Like this-" Talia held up a hand and sudden'y her face was illuminated by a small orange glow. Fire. "I can... Make fire without anything like gas. Well, more like i manipulate atoms in the air, Oxygen and i think a little nitrogen or something and they ignite."

Jack was wondering what she meant by, 'kinda like you.' Then he saw her face light up a Las Vegas strip. He could feel the heat illuminating from her. She was able to control fire by manipulating the atoms in the air. It seemed weird the atoms would just go in to combustion like that. Then again Jack was able to out run a fighter jet so saying what was weird or not wouldn't make sense.

"Well aren't you a hothead. Get it. Hothead... Never mind. How did you get these powers?"

Maybe she got them the same way that Jack got his or perhaps she was even born with this talent.

"Heh, no idea... I mean, i kinda discovered them... The hard way... When people make me angry..." Talia trailed off, looking down sadly. "I almost killed my foster father..." She made a wry smile. "I guess that's why i ran away... I know that seems like a childish thing, but if you could make a thousand lacerations with your right forefinger nail in les than a minute you'd be pretty freaked out. VERY freaked out..." Talia looked around quickly, then frowned a little and held up her right pointer-finger. The nail had turned to a hard, shiny metal. She held it against her thumb for a brief second and a small line of red bloomed up after she took the nail away.

"See what i mean?"

"So you're kinda like some kinda combination between Human Torch and Wolverine? It seems like you've got control over your power now. Why not go home? Are you not welcome there any more or are you afraid of what your foster father would say?"

Jack took another shot after speaking. His body seemed to metabolize alcohol at an inhumane level. Ever since gaining his powers, he'd been unable to get drunk. He mainly just drank due to it being part of young culture that had been perverted by consumerism.

"Oh, i doubt that i was ever welcome. Being different has it's perks, i'll admit. And then... Well, there are things you give up to live supernaturally. Actually, I'm one of the lucky ones, leaving my 'family' wasn't even hard for me..." Talia put air-quotes in the word family. "This is a rather depressing conversation... So in short: Yes to the question about combo... I dunno if I'll ever discover any more powers, but i also have a speed thing, i can go -in simplest terms- really fast. I'm laughing on the inside about going home, not because i will, because it is so very unlikely. Almost killing people usually makes them alienate you... I'd be surprised if they didn't call the cops on me for showing up at their door..."

Talia chuckled darkly. In truth, she didn't even want to go back. That place wasn't a home. It was a house she lived in until she figured things out. And until she almost killed her "dad"... That might have put a little dent in the welcome scale...
