Tracking a Mastermind
It'd been half a year since his first encounter with Hurricane, a man with extraordinary power to control the winds. In a way, his devastation was also the creator of Alan's power, but he isn't grateful. Alan had a life that was taken away with him, along with his good friends on the Battleship he was stationed on. Now he had become this monstrosity. He couldn't show his face in public, people would be afraid. He often sent a blind man he met on the streets to get him the necessities of life. He'd avoid the daytime, where people were. And come out at night, looking for his vengeance on Hurricane.
He had been able to get Intel on a shipyard that was used to transport large crates of exotic vehicles. Except the ships never moved. It was being used as a storage for something, perhaps something different altogether, the exotic vehicles being a cover. His leads all pointed to Hurricane. He wanted to kill him so badly.
Alan watched as a moving truck pulled in the shipyard area of New York. It was at night, his skin was black, and so were the clothing he put on. He was almost 'invisible' at night, or so he thought. His eyes were still a saturated yellow color from the effects of his power. They stood out in contrast to everything else on him. Still, with no sudden movements, he would never be seen.
He watched the truck come to a halt, and two shady characters stepped out of the vehicle, heading to the back. One of the thugs had a shotgun, the other was unarmed. The unarmed thug unlatched the truck and lifted up the backdoor. Could this be a lair for Hurricane?

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
Two popping sounds caused the head of the unarmed thug scatter all over the pavements. The man with the shotgun, who saw his compagnion die in the rearview mirror, quickly disembarked his vehicle, but was also knocked down with a swift and silent bullet. A dark haired woman appeared from behind a large blue seacontainer and approched the truck. She stopped at the remains of what used to be the unarmed thug and whispered something like: "You should have gotten a regular job, son."
The woman detached an cilinder-shaped object, probably a silencer, from the barrel of the firearm she wielded. The cilinder disappeared in the pocket of her long, black coat. The woman lifted up the backdoor a little more, for the thug had failed to fully open the door and entered the vehicle. What on earth were the mysterious contents of that truck? What could possibly be interesting enough for this lady to kill for? And who was this woman?

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
(Hey Soap, I was thinking Nitroglycerin barrels, but go with whatever ya want in the contents of the truck)
Sul-Fury's eyes lit up at the gory scene, but he couldn't let this assassin, or whatever she was, get away with blowing his cover, either. He slowly stalked closer towards the dark-haired woman. As he got closer, he tried to see the contents of the vehicle, but he couldn't let whatever it was, get into the wrong hands.
Sul-fury neared the woman, and as he got to a reasonably 'safe' distance, he used both his hands to grasp a wooden post that was holding up a fence at the docks. He pulled upwards and post made a crackling noise when it split, intended to startle the dark-haired woman.
He held the wooden post like a club in his right hand. "Who are you, and what are you doin' here?"

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
((Nitroglycerin? That's all you got? No illegal high tech computer equipment? No big machine guns? Not even a friggin' lazer kannon? ))
The deafening noise of breaking wood at night is in fact enough to startle any person with some common sense, such as the 'assassin lady'. She was about to uncover what lay beneath the white sheet that was put over the cargo, when that cacophony of destructive sounds erupted in the chilly New York night. Well, actually it was pretty warm that very night, but a "chilly night" just sounds better. The lady turned around, only to witness a big black hulking monstrosity swinging around a large wooden pole as if it were a baseball bat. It was not a vision she could easily grasp, but since any action deserves a reaction, she uttered the words "What the fuck?" under her breath.
Nevertheless, a second later she regained her sense of reality, which is to say she no longer thought naughty words regarding sexual intercourse, but she could react once again, as a normal sane person. Well, not completely "normal and sane", since she shrugged and said:"Well, it's not going to be a silent raid after all." After which she pointed her pistol at the scary man....beast....thing and fired a few shots at him....or it.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
He approached her expecting a fight, but didn't really think she'd open fire before responding. A bullet hit his torso, then another struck him in the forehead, forcing him to jerk his head back from the force of the strike. He lifted his arm up over his face to shield it and a bullet hit his forearm immediately after. The bullets imprinted his skin and fell to the ground, they stung like a horde of angry wasps when they'd impact his skin, but at least they weren't fatal.
Panic from the attack triggered an instinct in his brain that switched from being terrified, to a Berserker's rage. While bullets still hit him, Sul-fury swung the club well behind his back and hurled the wooden beam at the assassin, then charged closer to close the gab between them.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
As the two readied for battle, the cab of the truck seperated from the cargo block, a man cloaked in darkness stood next to the two halves of the truck. The metal halves hit the bround hard and broke the pavement and sent sparks into the air.
"Sorry to interrupt, but my employers have too much staked into this cargo reaching its destination." The emotionless tone rang in a very intimidating way. "If you'll excuse me, I'll take this and be on my way." The still hidden man grabbed the truck bed and began to drag it away.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
Sul-fury's stampede towards the dark-haired woman was interrupted by another shadowy figure's involvement.
"His employers? He might be working for Hurricane if this is his Lair!" Sul-fury thought to himself.
Sul-fury didn't stop running, but diverted his course of path, running past the dark-haired lady towards the hijacked truck. He then grabbed the bumper at the back of the vehicle, leaned back and dug his heels into the pavement to stop or slow down its movement.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
As the two halves broke off, the woman paniced and leaped in a cat like fashion out of the cargo compartment and rolled past Sul-fury in order to make some sort of dodgy escape (or escapish dodge). As she got back up her feet, she realised she dropped her pistol, turned around just in time to see it being crushed under the big black's foot.
But the feeling of loss very quickly changed into a feeling of absurdity, as the lady was astonished by the similarities between the fight over the cargo load and the game called 'tug of war'. She uttered a short little laugh, as one would do when witnessing something ridiculus.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
The man was stopped dead in his tracks. If he had been unexperienced in fighting others with powers he may have been surprised, if he would have been anything at all. But as it stood the man was motionless, stopped by force. He turned slowly to face the large obsidian colored character. He face was finally illuminated by a near-by street lamp. His face was motionless except for his eyes that slowly drifted up and down, left to right, scanning both of the people there. He looked very unamused, though not angry, and extremely calm given the situation. the low light mapped out his clearly asian features.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
"I don't think so, not without some answers. First you'll tell me who you're working for.
He could care less of what was inside the container. But Sul-fury's eyes darted around expecting more company. Any other thugs at the harbor would have heard gunshots and the commotion with the truck by now. His eyes then shifted back to the dark figure as the glow of the street lamp revealed his face partially.
It wasn't looking good for Sul-fury, but his heart wouldn't let him back down now that he had gotten this far. Whoever that dark-haired woman was, could be either in league with this extremely confident mysterious man, or they could all be coincidentally wanting different things at the same time.
Sul-fury prepared himself to be attacked first before a response this time, unlike his encounter with the dark haired woman, who by now is probably adjusting her arsenal. He gripped the end of the bumper with significant force, preparing for a response.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
The dark haired woman was indeed adjusting her arsenal. As hastely as she unscrewed the silencer, she now screwed it back on. When she was finally done, she pointed the device at the asian looking man. She started walking towards the two, fixating her eyes on Sul-fury and the weapon on the other dood. As she entered the 'lime-light', which cast a faint glow on her rather pale skin, she too had something to say to the cloak: "That cargo is going with no-one but me, señor." Because she had not even a trace of accent, one might've wondered why she used the word 'señor'. Maybe she did have some Spanish roots, but was schooled very well in the english language (third generation immigrant, perhaps?). Maybe she had no other word in her mind at the moment. Maybe it just sounded cool. Who knows? Meanwhile, she had trained her eyes on the massive thing holding up one end of the cargo load. "If you help me, I will get you all the answers you want. Like that saying ...uh...'You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours'." Her eyes darted from the beast to the cloak back to the beast.

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
The man answered the hulking beast near him first, "Who I work for is of no concern to you. Suffice it to say that they'll be very displeased if this cargo doesn't make it to its destination."
He then turned to the woman. He glanced at the gun in her hand, had he been a normal man he may have been frightened, had he been another man in this exact situation he may have even chuckled, knowing what he knew. But being wh he was not even the trace of a smirk changed the expression of utmost, nothing, that his face carried. "I was warned that the cargo would be a prime target though. I've been given the directive to use full force should its course be interfered with. Count yourself lucky that I didn't carry that out when I first saw you take out the men here."

Re: Tracking a Mastermind
Sul-fury could hear the woman talking of a temporary friendship, but ignored it. The man in front of him was working for whoever it was that wanted this shipment, if it were Hurricane, he'd be just one step closer to his goal. The woman was working against him.
All in all, at this point he somewhat wanted to back down. The stakes were getting higher, and he was getting a bad feeling about this other character. He seemed unflinching. Sul-fury tried to call his bluff.
"You don't really expect me to just let you go with a response like that, do you? This lady's offer seems slightly more tempting. Two on one doesn't seem at all in your favor, and I might let you go for a sliver of information. Sounds like a logical choice to me."

"A sides mismatched as that would be disadvantageous. What do you need to know. If it pertains to the identity of my employers I cannot divulge that information. They prefer to remain in a cloud of anonimity." The man remained motionless, aside from subtle movements do to breathing and normal swaying.
