Rating
Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

Deimos's Tarot Cards
Item/Character Advancement Name:Deck of the Fae
Item/Character Advancement Description:
During the events of the London event, Deimos was brought to full power by a mysterious being which granted him a grand many powers for a short time. However, as a parting gift he was gifted an artifact from his future, a deck of Tarrot cards that have vast magical properties. The cards themselves look like a relatively normal set of tarot cards, however they have a consciousness, throwing out cards for readings. It is an unknown fact that these cards can foresee the future, however they can only communicate via tarot readings. As well as a tool for divination, The 21 major arcana cards each have a magical effect attached to both their upright and reversed positions, meaning a total of 42 new useful spells.
Item Power(s):
As a Divination tool: The cards have a consciousness and can actually foresee the future. They even have a personality that can be quite snarky. Deimos can use them like a regular tarrot deck to try to divine up an answer to questions or try to gain insight into the future, but the card's communication is only as good as Deimos's ability to read the cards. (Meaning some great card shenanigans can occur)
As spell casting:
Deimos's cards grant him access to 42 new spells/effects. Each card has two abilities assigned to it, one for the upright and one for a reversal. Only one card effect can be played at a time (with only one exception as stated on the empress card) and using another effect requires a dismissal of the first.
The spells:
The fool-
- The Fool:
- The fool represents freedom and innocence in a reading, however outside of a reading it can be used to debuff someone against magic effects, making a target more likely to succumb to magic. This cuts through most spell resistance and can last for thirty seconds.
Reversed- The fool represents a reckless abandon. Thus the reversal allows one to become temporarily immune to magic for a few seconds at a time. It only lasts for three seconds so make it count. (permission based)
- Magician:
- The magician is all about opportunities. Using the magician can highlight the path to Deimos’s current goals. It might lead you directly to what you’re looking for, it might show you an object you’ll need later. The magician is considered a foresight spell, giving one a vague hint to the future
Reversed, the Magician erases any evidence of magic in up to a mile area, making it appear as though no spells were ever cast there. It is perfect for covering one’s tracks.
- The High Priestess:
- The high priestess is unattainability, It means “I want what I cannot have”- Deimos can use this card to see one’s true intentions. This spell makes it impossible to lie for five minutes. This spell can be fooled through creative wording as the spell will not raise alarm so long as the statement is true, even if it is misleading in nature. (permission based)
Reversed- A burden. Stronger abilities and attacks weigh an opponent down more and more, requiring double the effort or material cost each time the same ability is used. It can exhaust enemies quickly and will last until the card is put away.
- Empress:
- The empress is a protective, motherly card- The use of this card is immediately accelerated healing. It is a more extreme version of Deimos’s current healing abilities, healing a nearly dead man to completely healthy within a minute. The Empress is the only card that can be used in tandem to any other card and the healing time is halved if played in tandem to the Emperor.
Reversed- The empress reversed is a lack of love or a very cold woman. This card unleashes a blast of frigid cold, cold enough to freeze water solid in an instant. The blast only lasts for two seconds, and is in a thirty foot cone, freezing everything in it’s path. Anything hit by the blast becomes unhealable via magical means for three minutes.
- The Emperor:
- The emperor represents control. Using the Emperor card allows Deimos to switch one magic spell with another. He can turn a fireball into some smaller, less dangerous spell of his choice. He can metamagic any spell he sees cast, however he must act quickly to counter it and he can only substitute this spell for something he knows.
In the reversed position the Emperor is about loss of control either over another or over one’s self. Some spells require concentration and the reversed emperor interrupts that control and causes concentration spells to be immediately lost. Summoned monsters will be immediately banished, illusions will fall to shambles ect.
- The Hierophant:
The Hierophant can often represent a cleansing or a healthy change. It’s ability is to cleans one’s body or objects of unwanted spirits or entities, forcing them from their vessels.
Reversed- an abuse of power- A blank check to cast a ritual spell with none of the components or consequences of the spell.
- The Lovers:
- A connection or relationship- Deimos can bind a spirit or an entity to an object or a person. This spell requires three things, a spirit, an object or person and a ‘contract’ or a set of specific rules that will keep the spirit bound. He can specify how long the binding will last or even include a clause for breaking the binding.
Reversed- Deimos can sever the feelings of love or affection toward others in a target. They may either lose love for someone, or they may feel unloved. This functions like a curse that has to be broken by some other party, usually the person the target lost their affection for. The usual fix for this curse is to burn a lock of the afflicted hair and all should return to normal the next morning.
- The Chariot:
- The chariot represents advancement or movement in a reading, when used outside of a reading it can teleport Deimos and whoever he chooses to bring with him to anywhere in the known universe. Deimos has to have been to this place before, but it is not limited to one plane of existence and he can travel to any dimension he has been to before. Deimos can bring however many people he pleases with him as well but only if they are willing.
In the reversed position the chariot represents a stagnation, or a lack of movement, when used in reverse the chariot can bind someone to their current plane for up to a week. In this time any spells, objects or magical effects that would bring this person to another plane will fail. (permission based)
- Strength:
- The strength card represents a stubborn hardheadedness and resilience in a reading. Deimos can use this ability to make someone blind to pain or death for up to five minutes. During this time the target is able to move freely as if they were uninjured and do not feel the effects of any damage taken. As soon as the time is up or the spell is ended, this person will feel all the damage they sustained all at once.
In the reversed position, damage appears to be doubled to the target, making the pain much worse than the damage actually calls for. (permission based)
- The Hermit:
- The hermit can represent a pause for a moment, taking time for self actualization and reflection. Deimos can use this card to communicate with beings from other planes. He must have something from this being, if it is a deceased person, he needs either their body, a possession or to do it at their grave, if it is some other entity he needs an object of importance.
In the reversed position can represent emotional anguish or torment, Deimos can use this to fill the head of a victim with the voices of the void, all of which are laughing, screaming or shouting all at once. It is deafening and maddening. This can last for three days, but can be cured faster is the victim is kept in a silent room for more than an hour.(permission based)
- Wheel Of Fortune:
- Drawing the Wheel of Fortune fortels a great stroke of luck. Your actions will always reach the most optimal outcome when this card is active. Striking weak points on enemies becomes easier, finding just the right tool for the job, ect. This buff can be transferred from Deimos, to others.
In the reversed position the Wheel of Fortune can represent a period of bad luck. This spell can curse an opponent with a sudden bout of klutziness, perhaps a hole in their pockets that made them lose a very important item or one stair being slightly too short. This buff can be transferred among enemies. (permission based)
- Justice:
- Justice upright represents karmic justice, one getting what they deserve so to speak. This works as a painsplitting ability, taking half the damage the user has sustained and reflecting it back to the sender. Any further damage will be felt by the sender.
In the reversed position Justice can represent getting away with something unjustly. Using this card can shield deimos from the consequences of an action but all of the benefits, this works with magic circumstances as well as social circumstances. This buff can also be shared or transferred to others and requires a good amount of mental fortitude to see through (permission based)
- The Hanged Man:
- In a reading the hanged man represents letting go of something harmful. This card can be used to cleanse oneself from any kind of mobility limiting effect.
In the reverse the hanged man is a refusal to let go of either a bad habit or a foul person. When used outside of a reading, this card works as a hold-person spell, entangling someone in a trap of their own mind making them feel as though they cannot move. (permission based)
- Death:
- In a reading Death represents transformation, a death and rebirth so-to-speak. One of the better cards to draw in a reading as it can sometimes mean positive change. When used outside of a reading Deimos can use this card to transmute one material into another, such as iron to gold.
In the reversed position the death card can represent the stubborn refusal to change. It can mean repeating negative patterns or behaviors. Deimos can use this to exacerbate a weakness in a person or object, making it much easier to exploit.
- Temperance:
- Temperance represents emotional balance and peace, as well as smoothing things over with an adversary. Deimos can use this card to invoke a sense of peace that will discourage fighting or panic and often dull fight or flight responses.
In the reversed position Temperance can represent an upset in the balance and be an indicator of incoming chaos. This card causes a mass panic within 30 feet of Deimos causing reactions varying from light fear to absolute delusional panic.
- The Devil:
- The devil card represents self-sabotaging behavior or being one's own worst enemy. When used outside a reading Deimos can use this card to bring a past issue back to the surface, be it an old injury, an old habit that has been done away with. Deimos can bring all this past pain and suffering back to the surface with full force causing a relapse. (permission base)
In the reverse the devil can represent reveling in someone else’s misfortune. When used this card summons a shade of the person who is to be cursed. The shade is half as strong as the target, however can be sent to infiltrate buildings and hunt this person down. The shade may choose to attack immediately or to haunt it’s target. The shade will not dispense until it is killed or banished.
- The Tower:
- In a reading the tower is considered one of the single worst cards to draw in a reading. It represents a drastic change, usually a bad one and calamity galore. This card is very dangerous as it summons in a meteor of custom size that will slam down to any target of Deimos’s choosing.
In the reverse the tower represents averting disaster, Deimos may select an area to restore to a state prior to destruction. The time he restores the objects to must be within 24 hours and this only works on inanimate objects in the area. Any living thing will be unaffected.
- The star:
- The star can represent an uptick in social perception for a person, perhaps a rise to fame or a more favorable bargaining position. The star can be used to make feats of charisma slightly easier such as making people more friendly or helpful or even making a group of people see an action as more favorable than they normally would. Temporary increase to fame within thread. (permission base)
A reversal of the star can represent a fall from grace or a souring of public relations. Deimos can use this card to poison the perception of the public for himself or another person. Actions typically deemed a good will get boos and hisses from the masses. Temporary increase in infamy within thread. (Permission based)
- The moon:
- The moon upright can represent a revelation of a secret of some kind. Outside a reading this card can be used to detect and dispel any and all illusions or mind altering effects within a 20 foot radius of use.
In the reversed position the moon represents a secret that will never be discovered, perhaps even taken to the grave. Deimos can use this card to conceal himself and up to three other people in near invisibility as well as muffle their sounds to those outside the spell’s 5 foot radius.
- The sun:
- The sun represents euphoria and general good feelings. In use this card can be used to invoke grand hallucinations and mass confusion amongst a group of people within 30 feet of each other (permission based).
In the reverse position the sun can mean darkness, depression or sadness. Outside a reading, Deimos can use this card to create a 30 foot sphere of magical darkness that blinds all those inside if their vision depends upon light.
- Judgement:
- The judgment card represents a kind of internal freedom. The judgment card can be used as a form of internal self-cleansing. When used a target must be asleep, once the target is asleep, this card can be used to “pick their brain” so to speak, to find memories hidden from one’s self or find motivators to “fix” one’s mind. This can take numerous sessions if the intent is to repair.
A reversed judgment card can indicate revenge from others. When this card is used it works as a mark of Cain, relaying whatever bad effects have been doled out to the sender sevenfold.
- The world:
- The world represents progress and passage of time. When played outside of a reading the world can rapidly speed up time within a 30 foot radius to whatever speed Deimos so chooses.
In the reversed position the world can represent a stagnation of progress of something. In the reversed position this card can be used to freeze time for three seconds in a 30 foot radius.
Item/Character Advancement Weakness(es):
Deimos's ability cards can only be used one at a time, although they can be used multiple times a day. Some effects linger after the card is put away, however he cannot play any cards tandem unless it is the Empress.
