Yurei Shi is very cocky, for a Samurai. He lets his emotions get the better of him, and he tends to go into situations blind from arrogance. He can be quite the fighter, but he is still very “green” in terms of skills in battle.


Born in 1995, Leonardo Gates was originally from the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, PA. Though he has no memories of the city, due to his father, Jeremy Gates, receiving a promotion in his position at Sony. This promotion moved him and his family to Tokyo, Japan at the end of 1997. Leo, who at this time only knew of his mother’s Japanese heritage, was shocked to learn that his father was actually a Japanese-American who dishonored his family and namesake for love.

In 2001, Jeremy Gates discovered a dark secret, which would shake the world. He went with his wife to go warn the United States government, but they never made it off of the island of Japan. Leo, now alone, went to thievery and begging to survive. When his mother’s brother, Shishio Yukio, came across young Leo at a local food mart where he was caught stealing. Shishio sparred the boy and raised him as his own. Leo carried anger, and resentment towards his mother and father’s murderers, which Shishio thought could be tamed by learning the way of the Samurai, as atonement for his past crimes. Leo became quite a skilled fighter, and set out to seek revenge after Shishio was brutally murdered by the organization who killed his parents, the Hive Syndicate.

Human: This may sound goofy, but with Yurei being a human he can only withstand so much from certain things. He bleeds, and feels pain like any normal person.


Ancestral Katana: The Katana of Shishio Yukio, and everyone in his family. Leo, now wields the blade for his mother, as well as for his deceased mentor Shishio.

Torn Robes of Honor: His blue robes, though worn out, are a sign of honor and were gifted to him by his uncle, Shishio Yukio. He wears them as a reminder of his losses, and what he fights for.




Leo, though quite arrogant, is quick to solve the problems he finds himself running into.
He fights until his last breath, no matter what.
There is something about him… Something that feels different, others tend to avoid contact with him.


The summer’s warm winds blow carelessly through the trees of the Elven woodlands. As the warm summer air breathes life into nature itself, the life that surrounds and dwells within the woodlands acknowledges the wind’s existence, allowing for the branches of trees and the blades of grass to sway with the current. Birds chirp their tunes for a short moment before they’re silenced by the wind, that whistles back to them.

From a short distance, the thundering sounds of grunting are heard as a group of Orcs stand underneath one of the Godsgrace trees, which are known to be holy to the Elven people. The Orcs continue to grunt, not paying any attention to the wind or the calm tranquility that surrounds them. One of them, a brown skinned Orc, with one tusk that is chipped and one that is not, stands tall among the other Orcs. As he does so, two others quickly pull him down into what looks to be a trench of some kind.

“Thenn, what were you thinking… Are you trying to have us all be whipped just because you need to get a stretch in?” The smaller of the two orcs says, his skin is green and he has two rather small tusks compared to the other Orcs that surround them.

“I was just thin-” Thenn begins to whisper before he is quickly silenced by the other Orc.

“You were not thinking, that is what the problem has always been.” The other Orc says to Thenn. He is similar in size, but his skin is pale, and his face looks as though he has been ill for quite some time.

“You three!” A voice from above the trench shouts, the face of the voice not seen by the three Orcs.

The three Orcs climb from the Trench and stand before a man who looks to be half Elf, half Orc. He is tall and slender, but his tusks are finally shaped and he looks to be properly dressed compared to the others.

As the Orcs stand, their bodies all go numb, arrows fly down and they’re killed. The other Orcs gasp, as they stop their tasks and look at what has occurred. The Orcs all continue after a few moments of silence and the day progresses as normal.
