Owlman and a Witch

Modern day Hong Kong was less a city and more a labyrinth of skyscrapers, and provided a scintillating view from the deck of a private cutter out on the harbor, heading for the casinos of Macau. The city itself was a very clean, and therefore well maintained- and well-observed box of claustrophobia, and shady espionage deals tended to be easier when out on international waters.

The invite list for this yacht was small and intimate, mostly of wealthy Chinese businessmen with unpronouncable names. The people already on the yacht tended to be some tough looking, well-dressed goons in suits and carried concealed weapons. A small cocktail party was being hosted on deck, mostly younger members and their model girlfriends carousing with alcohol and cigars, while the important older gentlemen went to convene below deck with conspicuous black suitcases.

One of the pretty girls on deck, a slim blonde in a backless red dress, was laughing and smiling quite loudly, though people dismissed it as her having a bit much to drink. "I can't understand a thing you're saying!" She exclaimed, and a couple of goons led her to a deck chair to sit her down.

The Owl Boat/Submersible would be stealthily approaching the yacht beneath the cover of the sea. He activates thermal sensors, trying to get a count of enemies. From the submersible, he would fire a grappling hook to the highest point on the ship. From there, he'd release several stun Owl-Rangs at each of the armed goons. The Owl-Rangs would be charged with a powerful stun component. It also has a sharpened edge to pierce body armor. He would mutter the following to himself "I need a sidekick."

The sudden attack caught some guards unprepared, but one would wise up to the attack and sound the alarm. Immediately all the guests panick, as goons quickly lock up all access into the ship while the remaining half dozen or so guards converge on Owlman under cover, quickly.

"Alright whoever you are, you picked the wrong party to crash, hero." The goon leader said, silently signalling two men to approach from behind Owlman while another two stand up and start shooting to flush him out.


"Oh my god what's happening?!" Some of the guests wanted to leave immediately, but a couple of guards with guns kept them calm.

"Everyone calm down and stay quiet. You'll all get off at Macau when we get there!"

The drunk girl was still giggling to herself in a haze, when she gestured towards the guards. Portals opened beneath their feet and they were quickly disposed of, sent into the Hong Kong harbor in surprised screams. "...Oooh someone started the real party!" She got up and walked around to explore.

The Owl Man would throw down some type of smoke device, quickly releasing a thick cloud of smoke in his area. He uses thermals to see through the smoke. He would throw two targeting Owl-Rangs, right at the heads of the goons shooting at him. He leaps off the railing, landing on the main deck.

At this point, drunk girl revealed herself to be Dabbler, reverting to her little witch form. With most of the civilians already panicking, Dabbler wanted to get her first kick of the night.

Speaking in her Scary voice, she shows them her fag filled maw. "COME LET ME FEAST ON YOUR SOUUULS!" Her voice boomed with an infernal bass, and everyone who was left quickly jumped into the water in fear, screaming in terror as they hit the water.

Dabbler let out a maniacal laugh. And then Owlman shows up.

"Hark! Who is this dark avenger?" She asked, ignoring the hail of bullets coming her way.

With the Dabbler being used as a distraction, the guards attacking her, the Owl Man, on the main deck would throw a flashbang into the largest clump of guards. Afterward, he would run up, kicking any goons near the ship's railing off into the water. He would also throw several explosive Owl-Rangs at each person inside the flashbang's area of effect.

With all the goons neutralized, the deck had become calm and Dabbler looked at this new hero in front of her.

"...You're dead, freaks!" One last security guard had the guts to aim his gun at the Witch.

"Liar liar pants on fire!" Dabbler was quicker on the draw, as the demonic eye within her hand opened and meet the gaze of the last bodyguard. Unseen eldritch energies coursed through the air, and as the goon pulled the trigger, his pants instantly ignited. Being set on fire was a horrific experience, and the man's shrieks and cries of pain echoed throughout the deck. The burning man leaps into the water to find release from torment, but, hellfire continued to burn until he was nothing but a charred piece of meat, the sickly smell filling the air.

"So. What brings mister tall, dark and brooding to this boat party?" Dabbler asked Owlman again, giving him a toothy grin and a disturbing chuckle.

The Owlman glances at them... He would look back to one of the partygoers, grabbing their throat, and holding them over the edge of the ship. "What deals were being made on this boat? Drugs? Arms? Human trafficking?" His voice is being filtered through a modulator, adding to his frightening appearance.

It was a miracle anyone was left on the boat, but there was one who stayed trying to rescue one of the goons who fell into the water. She was taken by surprise and tried feebly to punch Owlman's arm out of the way. "What? what? I'm just a stylist I don't know anything! You kicked my boyfriend into the water!" She protested, practically sobbing and pleading for mercy.

Ignoring Dabbler was rude to the Dabbler. She followed behind him and this time poked him in the cape to get his attention. "Hey mister I-am-vengeance-I-am-the-night, instead of asking these bimbos why not we crash the party inside the boat?"

The Owlman looks back to the Dabbler. "Fine, let's go." He drops the girl over the side of the ship. No witnesses. No tattletales. The Owlman goes to the door, pulling out a small pen shaped device. He presses it against the steel door, activating a laser point. He starts cutting away at the wall, making sure to stay out of the doorway to avoid gun fire. "Meta-Girl, as soon as the door falls, do that eye vaporize thing."

"Dabbler. Immortal Hellbeast of the Styigan Realms. Demonslayer. Grand Poobah of the Mystical Arts, Sixhundred and sixty-sixth arch Warlock of the Order of Mungkustrap. Mayor of a town by the Lake. Lover of Ben & jerry's Chocochip cookie dough." Dabbler introduced herself formally, objecting to the use of improper names.

"Liar liar!- oh?" Once the door opened the hallway was devoid of goons with guns for the witch to set fire to. However, there were alot of bodies of goons on the floor. Their faces were pale, black veins visible under the skin. Most were clinging to their throats. They had all died of nerve gas poisoning. Said gas still floated in the hallway, like a mist of death.

"...Bleh! gas!" Dabbler cough heavily, the nerve gas affecting her a moment before she opened a portal to scoop it all up. The portal moved forward on its own, clearing the hall of gas and dead bodies.

"Dark, brooding vigilantes first." She offered Owlman the lead, and though most of the gas was taken out who knew what other insidious surprises were waiting for them...

He attached a respirator to his face, covering the rest of his open face mask. He would enter, Owl-Rangs at the ready. "So, Dabbler. Why're you here?" He tries to make small talk while infiltrating the yacht. While speaking, he activates EMF vision, allowing him to detect hidden objects powered by electricity.

"I heard there was a party. I crashed the party. Then there's a party downstairs." Dabbler simply... explained. As they descended into the secure levels, another door stood in their way, but this was hardly an obstacle for her. With a few gestures and an incantation, a giant lovecraftian tentacle reached into the ship from somewhere, punched through the door and ripped it out of its sliding tracks.

Now, Dabbler not paying attention to her surroundings was what usually got her in trouble. She was about to start talking again when a couple of poisoned darts struck her square on the chest. "Ow. Ow ow ow..." She staggered a few steps, before collapsing on the floor, paralyzed.

The darts came from a man in a sealed suit of armor with quite a few valves and cables. The armor was quite distinct, because it had the flag of North Korea on its chest. The conference room he had been waiting in had a long wooden table, and seated all around were dead Triad bosses, dead from the gases.

"I don't know either of you, but you're arrival is not unweclome. Walk away now, american vigilantes, and I will forget we met this day." He offered the duo a chance to walk, while holding a Kalashnikov, knowing these types were not the sort to turn a blind eye.

He kneels down by Dabbler's side, using his bullet resistant cape to cover them. He plucks out the darts. "Alright. We're going." He would start to help Dabbler up, before quickly turning and throwing 5 Owl-Rangs at the gun and at Major Gas. While he throws the Owl-Rangs, a grapple has gone off from a wrist mount, aimed at the suitcase on the table.

The Major demonstrated surprising agility in his sealed suit, ducking behind a chair that caught the Owl-rangs. This however, made him unable to intercept the suitcase.

"Damn!" He cursed, and to retaliate used a particularly virulent poison grenade that released a special brew of the Major's that defeated many gas mask types. The acidic gas quickly burned through the wall and floors, and liekly getting on Owlman's suit, to test the limits of his technology against the Major's.
