Maria Giblin is a tall woman with a tan complexion to her skin. She has a healthy weight about her but does not do much in terms of working out, so has a lack of muscle. After a terrible accident she lost her left arm and refused to have a prosthetic installed.

She has long black hair that is usually kept in a ponytail, so it doesn’t drop down into her face when she is working. Her face doesn’t carry any form of markings or scarring or anything of that sort, but she does have a tattoo of two stars on the back of her neck.

She is usually wearing a long white lab coat, the left arm tightly knotted up so not be an annoyance and drop down. Underneath she wears whatever she goddamn feels like, she doesn’t have a form attire so is particularly fond of. She almost always is wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses, she tries her best to avoid using contacts.



Maria is a very serious woman, tending to have a very stern expression upon her face (Many would call it a resting bitch face). She cares deeply for her work and for the success of Avalon and will do everything in her power to make sure it succeeds.

She has been known to have a light-hearted side when it comes to her younger sister. It is even rumored that she has laughed playfully when talking to her sister (These rumors were later put to rest when she heard this rumor and had a stern talk with the person who started it). She seems to have a great love for her younger sibling and will often put Tavi before her work.



Maria was born in Hawaii on the island of Maui. She came from a very wealthy family, her father being the head of a company that once designed and manufactured military vehicles. The company has since changed their direction and now helps in the rebuilding process of areas that have been struck with disaster.

While growing up Maria had a close relationship with her younger sister, the two of them being nearly inseparable despite the difference in their personalities. Much like her father, Maria wanted to help make something that could help people and bring communities closer together.

After graduating from college, top of her class, she set out to make something she called the Arcway. It would enable people from all over the world to be able to travel the globe in an instant. She came close to signing up with a company that would help her instill this system around the world but was talked out of it by her sister who worried the company would misuse it.

Instead, her sister told her about a new group she was signing on with and that they could use it for good and that it would help her get the funding and testing she needed for the Arcway. While Maria wasn’t happy about having to wait to share it, she conceded and joined Avalon, happy that it would at least be used for a good cause.

She has since dedicated her life’s work to helping the group succeed and does what she can to help it. She also managed to convince her father, who was close friends with the founder of Avalon, to help fund the group and provide support in whatever way he could.

Maria lost her left arm in an accident while trying to test the Arcway in its earlier stage. While the event was horrific, it proved to her that the Arcway could work.
She refuses to get prosthetic arm because she wants a reminder of her mistakes.

While her work is very important to her, something she’d throw her life away for, her younger sister is much more important and would do anything for her (This has also caused her to scare away some of her sister’s potential suitors).
