Octavia is a short girl of a tan complexion to her skin. While she is far from the physique of a body builder or even that of a boxer (though she does do some boxing), she is very strong and has clear signs of muscle. She is very physically fit and takes a lot of pride in that fact.

Her ashen brown hair is long and stretches down to her back, which is kept out of her face with a rather childish looking blue hairpin with a cat logo on it. Her face, mostly her cheeks, are usually covered in some sort of dark smug, dirt, or soot due to the kind of work she does. On the back of her neck there is a tattoo of two stars, something to match her sister’s tattoo.

Octavia usually wears either a tank top with some camouflage pants or overalls with a white shirt. Regardless of which she is wearing she is always in a pair of combat boots. Usually most of her clothing is stained with oil or grease or soot or something! She has a hard time staying clean.



Given her sister’s rather quiet and serious attitude Octavia worked hard to adopt a more outgoing sort of attitude, though most of her sister’s toughness did rub off on her. She is always eager to talk and help out with really any task (Despite potentially not having the right skillset for the job). She seems especially eager to talk about vehicles and cars, seeming to have a good knowledge about them.

Despite the tough attitude she usually carries, she is a very kind and generous woman. She is very giving and will often put off personal projects to help people out with theirs. She also has a very close relationship to her sister and would do anything for her. In many ways, she is both proud and jealous of her sister.


Octavia was born in Hawaii on the island of Maui. She came from a very wealthy family, her father being the head of a company that once designed and manufactured military vehicles. The company has since changed their direction and now helps in the rebuilding process of areas that have been struck with disaster.

While growing up Octavia had a close relationship with her older sister, the two of them being nearly inseparable despite the difference in their personalities. While still taking after her father in sense of wanting to help people Octavia was more interested in machines and cars and the tools her father’s company would use to help their reconstruction projects.

It was around her fifteenth birthday that Octavia’s powers had fully developed to what they are now. She could never find a use for them in terms of hero work, so decided to use them for a different job. Using her ability, she managed to excel in several engineering classes, ending up to be the top of her class. It was around this time she was scouted and recruited by Liam Lockwood to help with a new institute he was working to make. After hearing about it she was determined to join and help make a difference. She even managed to convince her sister to work on her project with this group and help better the world this way!

Now the two sisters work closely together, continuing to help each other however they can.

Mechanical Comprehension: By placing her hand upon a machine she can read and understand how that machine functions. Using this she can operate most forms of machinery, granted they don’t need more than one person to operate.  This applies to alien technology as well, so long as there isn’t any form of protection around it.



Give me a minute!: It takes several minutes for Octavia to successfully read and understand a machine. The larger the machine is the longer it takes to read it.
Staying connected: While she is reading a machine, she needs to keep in contact with the machine. If she breaks contact with the machine she needs to start all over again.

Dulled Senses: While reading a machine Octavia’s senses became dampened. She can’t hear, smell, see or feel as well as normal. She still has some function in these senses but requires some effort for her to able to tell what’s going on around her or for someone to break her out of it.



Octavia almost always carries a toolbox with her so she can perform maintenance on the vehicles around the garage or just general maintenance around the base.


She has a small team of engineers who help with keeping everything in tip-top shape!



While she does care greatly for her work and would do anything for Avalon, her sister always comes first. No matter what the issue is, she’ll always do whatever she can for her sister.

She has a fondness for tanks, loves to drive and shoot them.
