Tarantula is a career criminal that likes to steal from large corporations. He was pretty arrogant and liked to jump into heists when he was younger. But after years in prison and dealing with heroes, he's learned not to savor the moment when stealing. Hawk knows to get in and get out as fast as possible. He dislikes murdering and will usually resort to knocking out security guards. Harry also enjoys repurposing tech to be used for his own nefarious plots. Sometimes he's called the “Carpenter Bee” for building weapons for villains to purchase.




   Harry Hyv was born in New York to an impoverished couple in a beat up apartment building. His Father was a mechanic and his mother worked for Tarche Technologies for years. His mother worked on classified projects, so after school, Harry hung out with his dad at the mechanic shop, learning to fix cars. His mother was always at her job, day and night, in fact, she practically had a bunk bed in her office. He had never seen the inside of the zone where his mother worked and he gave up on prying. This was the beginning of the worst part of his life.

   When he got to 16, his mom started coming home even less frequently. He barely saw her once a month. During one of his classes, he was called to the office for an emergency. The Principal told him that his mother was in a lab accident at work. In all the classrooms in the school, on TVs there were Breaking News reports of the New York Tarche Defense tower having a large explosion on the 83rd floor. That was the same floor his mom was said to have worked on. The building had good enough structural integrity to survive the explosion, but the workers on the floor were dead. His mother’s body was found, charred beyond identification. The only thing giving her away was a special ring that her husband had given her. The ring was collected by the government to be studied.

   Harry joined Tarche Defense as an intern to find more information about the explosion. There was some type of cover-up going on and he was going to find out about it. He snuck into an office and started searching through files pertaining to the explosion. He found some files about nanotech in the Tarche Defense that would be used for weapons. Harry finally found something to prove that Tarche was up to something. He tried to download the file, but was recognized by an employee and reported. He was chased through the hallways of Tarche Defense and fired from position as intern. He was so close.

   Hawk started his criminal life only a few weeks after. He used a makeshift scrap metal launcher to stick up corner stores and mug people in alleyways. He eventually got enough money to buy a firearm on the black market. He got his friends with him to make a gang of robbers and criminals. They pulled off small heists, and by the time he was 20, before even being legally allowed to drink, he had knocked off banks with his gang. But the biggest heist of all would be stealing back his mother’s ring. The one the government had taken from him. The only thing to remember her by. After 4 more years of planning, he was ready for the heist of their lives.

   The first wave of attacks was remote controlled semi trucks with trailers filled with explosives. They rammed the trucks through the defenses and into the main building, driving over security guards. They remotely detonated the explosives and blew up the 3 ton steel doors. Another semi-truck came in, but instead the trailer had gang members within. They started unloading on the guards inside, pushing them out of the building. They began to clean out the metahuman case evidence area, putting everything in bags to load into the trailers. They started to drive off in their trucks, gunning down the police that decided to follow. In order to prevent the harm of any civilians, the police pulled off and let the gang escape.

   They went back to their base and rejoiced. They went through the containers they brought back and found the ring. Something had happened to it, though. It was somehow fluctuating in size and was still as hot as it had been during the explosion. Harry studied these properties and deduced that his mother was working on shrinking technology. As he figured this out, the base was rushed by a special ops team and they were all arrested for murder, theft of government property, and several other charges. All of Harry’s assets were taken excluding the ring which he hid in his stomach. He served 25 years in prison at his age of 24.

   25 years later, Harry Hyv was released from prison and immediately went underground. He stole some scrap and stuff back and used his mother’s charred ID card to break into another Tarche Defense building. He stole the Tarche TH-392 in its miniature form. He took it back to his base and now that he doesn’t have his gang members, he has his own army in his suit. The armor was called the Tarantula Hawk because it was able to leave a powerful sting. He took on the persona of Tarantula Hawk to teach the government and the companies who stole from him a lesson. He knows Tarche Technologies is hiding something, but nobody will believe him...

TH-392 Armor: A Tarche Technologies suit made for combat against lesser threats. Not lesser in strength, but in size. It has the ability to shrink down to the size of a normal Tarantula Hawk without injuring the individual within the armor. It comes with a pair of extra arms for lifting and grabbing. (The arms can lift 900 lbs) The suit has built in thrusters to lift the armor into the air at a steady 180 mph. The armor uses an experimental fluid armor design using nanoparticles that allows the armor to harden in places of impact and remain flexible in areas that aren't currently being hit.

Weaknesses: The armor has weak points under the armpits, the backs of the knees, the neck, and the stomach area. If the armor is hit with an explosive blast, because of the liquid armor hardening, it will paralyze the wearer temporarily. The armor was stolen before the nanites could be coated in a heat resistant layer, so the armor will begin melting at 300°  Farenheit. At near negative temperatures, the armor becomes brittle and can shatter. EMPs shutdown the shrink functions and some of the hardening nanites. Electricity will shock the nanites and cause them to harden and paralyze the wearer. Damage to the power core will shutdown the shrink functionalities along with the extra arms. Blunt force weapons cause more damage to the armor than normal slashes, stabs, and bullets.



Stinger Blasters and Cannon: A large shotgun styled energy blaster that can deliver a powerful punch that induces extreme pain and can knock an enemy back several feet. Also, two stinger blasters mounted on the shoulders of the armor. The blasters are more on the lethal side and induce a bit less pain than the Cannon.

Weaknesses: Tarche Defense couldn't find a way to cool down the barrel of the cannon after each blast. The cannon overheats after 20 or so blasts. Fixing it is a complex process that would take time which one might not have in a combat scenario. Putting the blaster underwater at least 8 feet down will damage it permanently. The stinger blasters can be shot off their exposed ball joint with ease. Electricity also negatively effects the blasters, shorting them out until they are fixed at a later date or time.

Scrap: Hyv has piles upon piles of scrap in his warehouse that he uses to create his tools. Circuit boards, armor plates, rubber duckies, you name it and he’s probably got it.

Tools: Hyv carries around a tool box containing power tools, regular tools, and his favorite tool is a large wrench for bashing in heads.

Hellbent: He will find out about the corruption in the companies that made him who he was. He is Hellbent on taking down the big corporations that take a phat dump on the little guy.
