First encounter with the devil(roleplay)

Baltimore to some it is the largest city in the U.S. state of Maryland and the 30th-most populous city in the united states to Michael it is just another city that needs protection. Michael was flying around the city at night when he heard someone yelling for help. He flew in the direction of the sound where he saw a man being mugged by some thug with a gun. He dived down and knocked the gun out of the thugs hand threw him against a wall. Then he summoned he sword and held it close to the thugs throat. Don't you dare try to get away he growled, the man he just saved from losing his wallet scrambled off as he said this.

Hughes gazed over the moonlit cityscape from atop the townhouses. Despite all of Baltimore's flaws, the city satisfied him. The mortar and brick, rustic feel of the city was aesthetically pleasing.

He saw several lights, but also a few dark windows. He heard cars and people talking. He smelled car smoke. The harbor. Cigarettes. He took in all these sights and sounds and smells, savoring each.

These soft pleasures made his job ever slightly more bearable. He was out on the prowl. A man on a mission.

Superheroes have some of the worst jobs.

An hour or so later, he heard strangers yelling. His curiosity overcame him, and he went to investigate.

He peeked around the corner of the alleyway and saw a strange sight: a man was threatening another other man with a sword!

Hughes tore off his gloves and put them in his pocket. A snap of his fingers, and WHOOSH! His hands were set ablaze.

He darted towards the swordsman, aiming to grab his arm.

Michael smelt the flame before he saw it. As  soon as he smelt the flame he turned towards the direction of the flame where he saw a man with his hand on fire running towards him which he quickly assumed was a metahuman. He instinctively created a wall of fire between them. The light from the fire showed Michael's appearance clearly. He was large(9 foot 9)  and completely covered in black fur.He had large batlike wings that sprouted from his back.He had countless sharp needle-like teeth.He has talon like claws on his fingers and toes. He has large horns sprouting from his head and his eyes glow a red color. Would you please allow me to explain what is going on before attacking me? He asked tensing up for the battle that he assumed was about to take place.

Hughes could not believe his eyes.

He stopped inches before the wall of fire, his eyes gazing upwards. The man-beast was larger than anyone Hughes had ever seen. Hughes nervously stood in fearful awe at Michael's horrendous appearance.

Hughes did not hear the demon speak. He was too entrenched in fear to pay attention to anything else.

"Oh my god..." he managed to utter.

Michael knew immediately this meta did not hear him based off his response.Did you hear me I said  would you please allow me to explain what is going on before attacking me so will you please give me a answer? he asked. Michael was used to people being surprised by his appearance but is still annoyed him.Don't just stand there speak he roared.

Hughes jolted at the monster’s roaring command.

“I-.....” His gaze drifted to the man at Michael’s feet. “You’re hurting him,” he said, looking up at Michael, “and I won’t let you hurt him any more.”

He raised his flaming fists and got into a fighting stance. He backed up a few inches to get away from the wall of flame.

“Come on, let’s go!” His voice did not sound as confident as he would have liked.

Michael was not in a good mood at the time and this wasn't helping but since he wasn't getting out of this he decided if it was a fight this meta wanted it was a fight the meta would get. He flapped his batlike wings and flew over the fire wall and landed on the other side. Do you wish to attack first or shall I? he asked. Right after he finished talking there was a gunshot and Michael felt a pain in his back. He look behind him and saw the thug he had left holding a gun which Michael had forgotten was there. Michael cursed before flying in the air just in time to avoid getting hit by another bullet. He landed in front of the thug and with one swift motion broke his arm. The thug cried out in pain as he dropped his gun and then Michael threw the thug against a wall. When the thug hit the wall he fell on the ground and didn't move. Crap how hard did I hit him against the wall thought Michael. He rushed to the thug with speed one wouldn't expect from a human and certainly not from a creature of his size. When he reached the thug's body he picked him up and checked his pulse. When he felt a pulse Michael said he's alive thank god or whatever being is in control of this reality. and sighed with relief. He then looked at the meta you still want to fight? he asked while causing the fire wall to vanish.

The awe and fear Hughes had felt moments before started to abate. He began to feel more confident in his abilities and was gearing up to strike first...until he saw the monster fly.

Surprise overcame Hughes when he saw that the monster’s wings were for more than just show, but the surprise soon faded. Hughes got serious and was mentally preparing for what would probably be the hardest fight of his life.

‘This...thing....it’s gotta go,’ Hughes though, ‘The poor man he attacked was only trying to defend himself!’

Hughes roared with forced courage as he charged at the beast, getting ready to take a swing at him.

As the metahuman charged at him Michael jumped over him and flapped his wings and flew above him.This guy does not know what he's up against. Michael mumbled to himself. He then created a fireball and threw it at the meta, aiming close enough the explosion would hit him but not kill him.
