Jacob is as mundane as any person could be, growing up most of his life without very many friends or family. This has led to him developing a dark sense of humor to cope with his past. Jacob sees himself as higher than the law and believes it is his right to enact his brutal form of justice. Despite finding joy in punishing those who deserve it, he puts protecting the innocent above all else. Although he would never admit it while hiding behind his harsh joking façade.

Jacob Elder was born into a family of four his abusive father, uncaring mother, and younger brother. Jacob went most of his childhood and into his early teens being abused and neglected by his parents with only his younger brother William to find comfort in. At the age of 17 Jacob's father attacked him in a rage causing William to defend his brother and kill their father in self defense. William went to prison for the murder sending Jacob further into depression.

After high school Jacob left home and attended college for several months before dropping out to make a living working whatever jobs he could acquire. Looking for a way to help cope with his anger Jacob took up weightlifting and boxing to fill his spare time, building himself into a physically intimidating person. Jacob settled with a security job at a local college where he befriended a professor on the verge of losing his position at the school. The two spent a majority of their time together, Jacob considered him the only true friend he had ever had in his life. One night while patrolling campus Jacob witnessed His best friend beat down and robbed by two strangers and left for dead. Jacob rushed to help him but was too late, he returned to his home that night with a new found rage. That night he hunted the two men to a local bar where he attacked them and was quickly overpowered and beaten close to death.

Jacob wakes up in the hospital with a strange man looking over him who offers him a chance at redemption in his life. Not taking the man's offer to heart he agrees and again awakens in his apartment completely healed with a mysterious Star tattoo on the base of his neck and a note telling him to live up to the mark. Over the next few days Jacob becomes aware of what has happened to him with him accidentally crushing appliances, burning through doors, blasting through walls. Realizing these new abilities he takes up the name Valiant Star after a comic book character him and his brother admired. He now roams from city to city enacting his own brutal justice and waiting for the return of the stranger that granted him these powers.

The Valiant Star- A mysteriously acquired star tattoo on the base of Jacob's neck that glows blue and causes his eyes to glow a similar blue when he mentally activates his powers. When utilizing his energy projection abilities his veins will glow blue in a similar fashion.

Super Strength- Valiant Star has superhuman strength when his powers are activated. He is capable of lifting 1,500 pounds with maximum effort, tearing through most metals, and punching through steel with medium difficulty.  

Energy Projection- Valiant Star can project beams of blue energy through the palms of his hands that seem to travel through his veins. The energy blasts with a concussive force of a car going 85 mph.

Enhanced healing- Valiant Star can heal from many injuries that would put most people out of action bullet wounds that would take months to heal will take days, broken bones depending on the severity heal within 24 hours, bruises and contusions are gone in mere hours. This is done seemingly by the Star feeding energy into his body that accelerates the natural healing functions of the body.

Boxing- After taking up boxing as a hobby he developed into a well rounded amateur boxer, with his super strength this makes him a dangerous hand to hand fighter for any combatant.


After extended use of his powers Jacob will be left physically exhausted and unable to use his powers for hours afterwards. When he attempts to overstrain his abilities can be left powerless for up to a day at a time in extreme situations. Not only is he unable to use his powers but his body will be left in intense pain until fully recovered.

Durability is a major issue for Valiant Star due to his powers only increasing his durability to a certain degree still leaving him vulnerable to firearms, explosions, and skin piercing.

Rage-Due to his long troubled past Jacob is easily sent into fits of rage that can impair him in combat and cloud his judgment in important situations.

Metaphysical Attacks- Valiant Star has no form of defense from mental or other nonphysical attacks directed towards him.

Public Figure- Valiant Star prefers to remain out of the pubic eye and media and in situations when it is unavoidable he becomes very uncomfortable.

Jacob strained his eyes reading the last few lines on the page before setting down Of Mice and men, Scanning the pitch-black parking lot before stepping out of his 2003 Dodge Ram. The crisp New York air stung his face as he pulled over his mask and walked through the lot towards the abandoned Office building where several armed traffickers were holding girls in-between handoffs. He slipped off his jacket leaving it at the frontdoor as he casually entered the building, the lobby only illuminated by the blue glow his eyes emmited. He passed a broken down elevator sighing before trudging up the stairs to the second floor where the girls were being held. He blinked his powers off and edged the door open peeking into the hallway at two guards with their backs facing the door. Jacob activated his powers and charged into the hallway dispatching the first guard with a energy blast that propelled him through the wall into the adjacent room. Before the second guard could react Jacob delivered a right cross that sent hm flying down the hall, smashing through the twin glass doors into the main office. The sounds of terrified men shouting orders filled the room, that was always his favorite part. The fear that kicked in and developed into panic before self preservation took over only to give away into more fear. Jacob dove into the main office taking cover behind a crate as three more guards opened fire on him, he could hear the young girls screaming on the other side of the room, they were the first priority. He blindly fired a stream of energy at the ceiling while dashing towards the guards, the first went down with a point blank energy blast to the chest. From his experience he knew that was a cracked sternum and shattered ribs at the minimum the next kick that spiraled him across the room equaled a major concussion and several lost teeth. Without missing a beat he fired another blast towards the next guard's legs flipping him into a uppercut that smashed him throuh the ceiling. The lasts standig gaurd stumbled backwards over his own feet throwig his gun to the side and clumsily unlocking the girls from their restraints. Jacob smirked before realizing the girls still huddled together in the corner."You guys are pretty dense aren't you. This is the part where you leave while I do really bad things to this guy". The girls nodded almost in unison and took off for the exit. The trafficker raised his hands in surrender."Please man i'm ain't a bad guy we weren't hurting them we juss were doing a jo man come n man please juss a job". Jacob's veins filled wih glowing blue enegy and his eyes burned filling the entire room with blue light." JESUSCHRISTIMAMANOFGOD". Jacob stopped for a second and leaned in so close he could feel the heat coming from the man's face."Oh your a man of god now?"." He stepped back and chuckled before slamming the criminal into the wall, cracking all the way through into the next room."WELL WHO DO YOU THINK SENT ME". Before he could continue the all too familiar whine of police sirens echoed from the parking lot. He smiled and dropped the crying blubbering mess of a man."Those girls I just released tonight......They are going to see my name in the paper or on the news and it's going to give them hope. Hope knowing there is someone in this world doing what needs to be done, but you on the other hand. I want you to hear my name in whatever dark shit filled corner your going to crawl back to, and I want it to scare you to your core. I want you to know that there is someone out there in the darkness you run from." He heard police marching up the stairs and he placed his hand aginst the window shattering it with a energy blast. A two story drop was nothing to him he landed with the grace of a dancer and took off undected towards his truck. After he was a safe distance away from the scene he layed down in the back of his truck trying every bullshit breathing technique he had learned to control the exhaustion and shaking that came with his power. He breated deeply while staring at the night sky before quickly fading to sleep.
