Toxic to the Soul.
"Damn it." Jake grew frustrated with each passing second, his suit laid on his lap, the back of it facing him with the knife in his hand. He sat on his bed, shirtless so that his wings could freely be out although a little cramped in the small space, for what felt like the longest time, Jake had been trying to match his suit to where his wings where, how wide the wings were at the base of his back and all the annoyance that came with it. But he also knew that this had to happen, his wings so far had been a pain to him, and without silts in the back of his suit, he would ether have to hope the wings ruined the back of his suit which was not something he wanted or that he was shirtless and that just... Well, it didn't seem like the right mood for a fight. Finding what seemed to be the best spot for his wings to sprout from, Jake began to cut away at the leather suit, making two, clean cuts that would hopefully be barely noticeable. About to try it on, Jake heard the distinct sound of foot steps coming towards him, looking to the door, Jake turned on his death vision, sighting his mother walking towards his room, in fact his door.
Turning off the vision, something he found he could do faster and faster along with turning it on, Jake bundled up his suit and put it under his pillow along with the knife, letting his wings shrink back into his back, Jake threw himself on top of the pillow and looked up into the roof, hearing the door click as he moved open, his mother on the other side. "Morning Mom." Jake said, turning his head to face her, only to see a worried look on his mothers face. "What's wrong?"
Amy looked at him, a suspicious frown on her face. "Jake. Did you happen to take the Kitchen knife? I was looking for it earlier and..." Amy stopped as Jake reached under his pillow and took the knife out, she opened her mouth to say something but stopped herself when she noticed the strange red texture that was quickly hidden by the pillow, Jake's hand outstretched to hand the knife to her.
"Sorry. I got bored and starting carving stuff onto the side of my bed. Might want to sharpen it too." Jake said, keeping a straight face to his mother as she walked over and took the knife from him, the suspicious look never leaving her brows as she looked at her son. Turning to leave Amy was about to leave when Jake stopped her. "Hey... Nah. Nevermind." Was all he said, his mother looking back to him with a less suspicious face and a more worried one, wonder on what Jake wanted to ask danced along her mind but she pushed it back.
"Well. If you plan on going out tonight, I'm cooking Pasta tonight so get home early. Understand?" She said, receiving a nod from her son before leaving him be. Watching the door close, Jake reached under his pillow and pulled his suit out, examining it once more before putting it on and leaving though the window like usual, jumping to the roof of the building with rather ease before settling down.
"Now. To test." Was all he said as he focused on the wings on his back, feeling them push from his skin and into his suit, the beginning of it pressing against the fabric and causing Jake to reach back and tug it around till the feathers began to poke though the silts in his back, soon followed by the rest of the wings mass of feathers and skin. Standing up, Jake shook the feather wings and tried to flap them, as much as he got use to turning the red vision on and off and getting the wings in and out. He still had yet to master the ability to fly with them, the muscles he felt in them still a stranger to his body.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
The wind whipped past Nathaniel as he continued to fly through the cold air high above the city, feeling somewhat freeing really against his warm flesh. Flying through the air faster than even a car was nice, and upon learning to control his wings that was what he did at the very least once a day. Finding a temporary place of residence was also nice, though it came with someone forcing him to at the very least change into some more suitable clothes. He was dressed in a white t-shirt with the back made to where his wings could slip through easier and basketball shorts, wearing what looked to be vans rather than his usually scuffed boots. With a grand flap of the wings, he flew faster as a few people caught sight of the male moving through the air with considerable speed.
Some had a difficult time even sighting him and wrote it off as a glare from the sun. That was when he felt something, an impact with a red shape that threw his flight off course, trying to get ahold of himself and managing to fail miserably. There was the pain of impact, wings twisting as he tried to regain control over himself and the descent that would happen. ”Dammit, what the hell!” He cursed, already trying to get control of the situation, wrapping arms around the person and feeling odd wings flap against his face as he quickly fell. What they ended up landing on was a large dumpster, his body proving to absorb the brunt of the impact, wings aching and back following suit.
”Okay…ow.” He groaned, pushing the person off of him and flopping onto concrete which didn’t really do much more than cause a thump when he impacted with it. No pain, though he would have some small bruises from falling anyway.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Deciding that maybe he should learn how to actually use the damn wings, Jake started with the basics. Starting to control them, flap them, he did so till he felt his feet leaving the ground, slowly, ever so slowly. He kept going till he got higher, and was starting to get afraid of looking down, now keeping track of the time that had passed between his feet leaving the ground and how high he had gotten. In the end, Jake would not learn as mid way though his scared flight, he felt a impact into his side.
Trying to get control, Jake's wings flapped crazily, hitting the person who he had crashed into, arms wrapped around as the two fell from the sky, till finally crashing, a loud groan came as Jake lifted himself and got pushed away, falling out of there crashed dumpster and onto the ground, no pain compared to the slight agony his wings and his side felt from the failed experience. Standing upright to face the man who sent the two flying to the ground, Jake was about to yell at him when he got a look look at the Golden wings, stopping his voice and making him view the face of the stranger, only to find a stranger did not stand before him. "Nathanial?" Was all Jake could muster under the muffle of his mask, his grey wings standing upright at the surprise of this sudden reunion between the two half angels since there last meeting days ago.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Nathaniel lay on his back for a few seconds, considering the fact he was in a little pain but it was nothing he couldn’t get over in the end. Colliding with the ground was never a pleasant sensation, and hos body at this point just ached, though likely wasn’t actually injured. Turning attention to the person, all he could see was someone dressed in a weird red outfit, calling him by his name of all things. He considered them for a moment, his wings quickly compacting against his back to prevent them from accidentally stepped on as he thought about the voice for a second, and then something clicked within his mind.
”Jake?” he said arcing a brow, a little surprised this was how they met once again. Not that he minded meeting a fellow Nephilim once again, but crashing into them was not how he exactly expected things to go down, but life had an odd way of making things work. ”Sorry about the whole…crashing into you thing. I probably wasn’t paying attention to where I was flying.” he apologized, scratching the back of his head and absently forcing out a few dents they caused in the massive metal dumpster. It was easy when he could have ripped the thing apart just as easily.
”What with the…get up?”

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake looked at Nathaniel with a slight, guilty laugh when he said that he must not have been looking when in reality it was Jake who had no clue as to what was exactly happening. Thinking of how to respond to the older half angel, Jake watched as he buffed out the dents the two must have made in that dumpster from falling into it and after that.. was the question Jake wasn't entirely sure about how to answer. Then again he never would have thought he would have to explain to anyone about himself, except maybe his mom but that was something he also hoped never happened.
"Well.. For starters. This whole mess was my fault. I only recently had these wings grow and.. well. That was my first time flying. And all I did was kinda fly up. So really I would have gotten in your way." Jake explained before tugging at the hems of his suit, thinking of a way to explain this without sounding too crazy. "And the suit... Well. I made it myself. My Mom doesn't actually know that I go out... Daily, going and helping out around the city. Doe, I only seem to help out with my fists.. But it's also so that people who I have pissed off, strong people. Can't easily find me at home." Jake explained, hoping that the older Nephilim didn't find the entire concept funny or stupid, times like these always had a effect on Jake, the sudden realization of how stupid these costumes could be.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake ended up being the one that took the blame for their collision, only making him feel even more awkward really. With the dents forced out of the dumpster, he ended up sitting on the closed lid, letting his legs dangle over the side of it. He considered the red suit, even as Jake continued to explained what the suit was for and it began to make sense as he listened. So it was more along the lines of him doing like those metahuman heroes that ran around, though he could understand the concept of costumes swell enough.
”That makes sense.” He said with a nod, thinking back to when he had people he cared about. Not that he didn’t care about people in general, but family was not exactly something that he ever had to worry about evil using against him. ”Having your enemies harm your family would be….bad.” Granted most of his were demons and those ended up being smited anyway. Not like all heroes did the smiting bit, though he wished they also did that if only so there were less criminals around.
”So, beat up any bad guys or just doing a little flying?” He asked sounding a little genuinely curious.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake nodded his head in agreement, thankful that he wasn't laughed yet, a action that would have been a deadly blow to the boy's pride. But there was also what Nathanial asked he was doing, resulting in Jake looking at his golden wings, a slight ping of jealously surged though him but he bit back from asking about them. "Well. So far the majority of me finding people to punch has been accidental. I do have a method but it can be hard to distinguish. So right now. I'm just trying to learn how to fly." Jake admitted, flapping his grays wings about to empathize his words.
"Here. Follow me." Jake said as he folded his wings close to his back and jumped upwards, scaling the wall to the roof of the building they had crashed near. And began to flap the wings more. "You can fly. Got an hints for these stupid things?" Jake asked, looking back to Nathanial with hopeful eyes, stretching out the grey wings to prepare for any words on form or such, a thought that almost made him laugh, this was going to be like learning gymnastics all over again, except very, very different.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
”Accidental punching also works.” He said with a grin, chuckling to himself at the concept. Learning to fly was also a good thing, though he hadn’t needed to learn to fly ever since he first gained his powers. ”Learning to fly? I could…probably help with that.” He then offered with a motion of the hand, as Jake leapt up to a higher altitude, Nathaniel quickly following suit once he understood what was happening. Actually vocalizing how one would explain flight was a difficult thing really, but he did want to help his fellow nephilm.
Nathaniel flapped his off colored yellow wings, rising into the air and so he explained how he learned to fly. It was a complex thing to get across but he had a feeling the male would be able to understand, and despite how long it might take Nate was confident he would be able to learn this. Eventually it did seem like Jake was getting the hang of things, rising into the air with steady flaps like he was doing or maybe he was being enthusiastic. At some point he had landed on the roof, arms crossed and just watching while Jake tried to get the hand of things, with wings pressed against his back.
”You’re doing great!” He cheered, offering some encouraging words.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake listened intently to his... well. He didn't quite know what to call Nathanial to this, his mentor? He was a half angel, a far stronger and more knowledgeable one plus this was... nice. He didn't do this with friends at school, then again, his only good friend was Scott and he wasn't a meta, he was normal. Nathanial however was not just a meta but a Nephilim, like himself.
Spending the next couple of minutes, Jake repeated the process that Nathanial shared raising from the ground over and over, moving in the air, a sensation that made... well. Little sense to someone who was so use to falling. He was in place in the sky, rather then falling to the ground, a sensation that as strange as it felt, he grew more comfortable into with each passing second.
Looking to Nathanial, who offered words of encouragement, Jake smiled under his mask and decided to try and move on from baby steps. Landing back on the roof, Jake run forward to the edge of it and jumped high into the sky, before catching flight with his wings, gliding though the air and turning back towards Nathanial, Jake sped up, moving though the sky faster then he would ever think was possible for himself on the ground. This however, came with a price as Jake flew faster then he was use too, and suddenly came crashing onto the roof he had previously jumped from, tumbling for a small bit before rolling into a seated position, his body ached from the crash landing and his wings felt jumbled but he found himself laughing. "This.. This is Awesome!" Jake called out to Nathanial, laughing a bit more.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
He continued to watch the Nephilim fly, going about through the air and Nathaniel with hands on his hips as he considered it. He was doing rather well, or at the very least for his first time. That being until he came down, losing some control of his flight as he crashed down. Rather than being in pain, he sounded as if he were enjoying things. ”Right?” He said with a grin, offering a hand to help Jake up and pulling him with minimal effort. Pulling his hand back, Nate rested his hands on his hips and flapped his wings, rising into the air and seemingly keeping himself aloft.
”Once you get the hang of things, it’ll be even more awesome.” He then added, seemingly just floating through the air just through subtle flaps of the wing, something that took a year or so of practice to actually get working. ”Or...” That was when he felt something odd, a sensation that felt rather familiar, turning in the air to see a figure standing on a roof top not so far away from them, wearing a black leather armor, a demon-esque tail trailing along behind the demoness they had met only a few days ago.
”You two have been really hard to find.” She hissed, yet he could see nothing that suggested she had minions with her.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake took the hand gratefully and stood up, watching as the older Nephilim rose just a bit from the ground and Jake watched with interest, preparing to try and copy the action till suddenly, Nate turned around and Jake saw what he did, the black skinned Demoness from the day that Jake had met Nathanial, her before skimpy clothes now replaced by a black like leather armor and a added tail that did not exist before.
Walking around Nathanial, Jake let the wings slither there way into his back, having some difficulty with his suit before disappearing into his skin. Looking around the she-demon, Jake did not take any notice of any shadow like minions, he also looked to see how far away they were from his place, feeling a little too close to home. Finally he looked to the Lust demon, Jake also wondered how she knew he was the half angel from those days past, with his suit on he should have been hard to tell apart, but then he thought of his wings and decided it wasn't worth playing around with mind games, if she knew then she knew.
"Alright lady. You know what happened last time. Would you rather I did it to you this time?" Jake yelled to her, raising a fist to empathize.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Nathaniel glared at the female demon that had apparently hunted them down, remembering well the time she had controlled him like a puppet. Already he was considering destroying the demoness without giving her a chance to speak another work, knuckles growing white from the sheer pressure of clenching his hands. ”Normally you’d be a threat to me with that punch of yours, but I don’t come here without a plan.” Her voice was calm, certain about what she was doing and Nathaniel did not like it.
”I’d suggest you leave before I burn you to ash.” As if making a point, he let the holy fire form around his fist, hot white ringed with brilliant gold. The female demon seemed to step back, grimacing at the show of holy power, but she would continue with whatever plan she had. This came down to moving her hands through the air, chanting something and then a flash of light that caused him to grow blind for a second, likely affecting Jake as well. Sight was faint for a few seconds, until he realized something had changed around him.
Things seemed taller and his back felt way lighter, but he hadn’t then realized he was shorter, and perhaps younger as a result.

Jake kept still when the demon spoke, rather worried that her initial fear of his ability was long gone, a sign that did not speak of good tidings for the two half angels. Looking to Nathaniel as he spoke, his fist coming to blaze with white fire that seemed to make the Demoness step back from it's blaze filled Jake once more with a slight ping of annoyance, but he pushed it down, knowing that he couldn't be annoyed at the smallest factors right now.
Looking back to the Demoness, Jake saw how she had began to move her hands in a strange motion, like drawing a picture, a rune, her lips moved, words coming out that Jake was too far away to hear and so he began to move forward but too late, the flash of light that blinded Nathanial had affected Jake too. Slowing to a stop, Jake rubbed his eyes, till his vision began to return to a blur, looking back to the Demoness, Jake noticed how the buildings around him were larger, how the demon herself was much larger. Thinking she had made herself bigger, Jake brought his fists up. "What..." Jake stopped himself, his fists lowering as he heard his voice, it sounded so... childish and low. Looking to his hands he then saw that they were small, not too small, he was always a large kid.. but they were small. Looking to Nathanial, he saw a small boy in place of the man that was once there, his eyes no longer the silver they once were.
Turning to the Demoness, Jake took a few steps back to get in front of Nathanial, unsure of how the change in age had effected him, but knowing that at this.. age, whatever age they were, he was still strong enough to lift cars easily, he just had to hope the demon was not. "What... Did.. You do?"

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Nathaniel did not notice the change within him first, but rather within Jake actually. It first came when the male talked, sounding rather high pitched as if he had pushed the undo button on puberty. ”What the…” Nate began before realizing that his voice sounded just as high as Jake’s did, realizing that he was younger now as a result. ”What did you do to us!” He demanded of the female demon, realizing that he may have not had his angelic given powers.
”You’re both smart boys, I’m sure you can guess what I did.” She stated with apparent amusement ”I thought if both of you were weaker, then killing you would be…child’s play.” She laughed at her own terrible joke, seemingly closing the distance between them without any problem. She would likely be able to kill them with a flick in their current state, and that was something he did not like.
”Jake, we really need to get out of here.” Nate said nervously, pushing at the half-angel before trying to run off and nearly running off the edge of the roof. Unless they angel boy could do something, they were likely screwed.

Re: Toxic to the Soul.
Jake glared at the woman, watching as she got closer and closer, he had to admit, she was dangerous. Whiten a second she had turned them into children and while he still felt his strength was above average even at the child's age. He was still unsure of how strong he was, it was just too difficult to tell. Feeling Nathanial push at him, a weak one that did not compare to the punches that he delivered days ago, before hearing his footsteps, Jake could all so easily tell that Nathanial had nothing, if he did, he would not have run, his strength was greater then Jake's any-day. So why did he not have it now.
Backing away to get distance and to stay and Nathanial, Jake wasn't sure what to do, he could try running but this demoness was faster them him, jumping might not work the way he was use to now. Now, he ether had to fight back and hope this strange age reducing effect wore off or he had to hope somehow help came. If only he could call Samael, but he didn't think his phone would be a need for flying practice.
It was then a thought entered his mind, the red energy, it could scare the demoness away once, it could do so again. All he had to worry about were her nails, whatever strength she had and those nasty looking fangs she had showed off in there earlier encounter, death by blood drainage did not sound fun. But he also knew the damage it could cause, and with this younger body, he was less durable. So at best he could only show it off and hope it scared away the demoness once more.
"Back away now!" Jake called out to the woman, letting the red energy form over his right hand, but he felt it sap his strength away, tiring him. It was like the red energy required so much energy just to summon it.. he was not looking forward to using it if he was forced too.
