Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

The Personality
Kashayel, who usually goes by Kash to her friends, is a sweet, soft hearted young woman. She has a deep well of compassion, and is deeply kind to all who cross her path. Even her voice is soft spoken and warm. She loves pretty things, like flowers, stars and cute dresses, even if she’s never had much chance to experience them. Perhaps precisely because of that. She has a particular fondness for the sky, she’s never had the chance to see a sky for any length of time.
While she may have such a gentle nature, she is also not someone to push. She’s brave and stalwart, almost stubborn at times. She can take a great deal of punishment and survive in the most remarkable manner. With her kindness intact, and her belief in a brighter day undimmed. She refuses to let adversity harden her, because there exist people in pain who need someone who can be soft. She wants to take care of people.
Even so, Kash does bear some habits from her time as a slave. She’s very nervous, particularly in crowds and with strangers. She tries not to draw attention to herself, and blend in with the background. She doesn’t tend to have much ambition in and of herself, she won’t go looking for adventure so much as adventure tends to find her. However, she’s a curious person, and just can’t leave well enough alone. She finds she can’t turn away and pretend that people aren’t getting hurt, and thus she steps in to protect those caught up by mistake.
The Story
Kash was not born into slavery. The Ith are a subterranean species, they don’t see much of anything else. That is, except for those who go too close to the surface and are often trafficked as slave labour. The Ith’s Ayel, the Stone Shapers, are particularly targeted for this, as they’re useful in all kinds of mining and construction. Kash was one of these unlucky Ayel.
The Ith had an ancient tradition on their home planet, one night of the year they venture onto the surface to see the stars, explore and teach their young about the world above. However, when Kash was just five years old, traffickers learned of this tradition and set a trap for Kash’s colony, knowing an Ayel had been born there. To this day, Kash doesn’t know where they got so much information, even down to where her colony would emerge, but she remembers the ambush like it was yesterday. A great many Ith were kidnapped into slavery that night, including Kash and her mother.
From then on, Kash was raised as a slave in a mining colony. The stress from their kidnapping and the sudden hard labour at such a young age caused Kash’s powers to manifest like a meteor strike when she turned ten. Her mother tried to hide it, but nobody could have mistaken the little girl’s outbursts as anything but the emergence of an Ayel. Just before they were separated, Kash’s mother managed to give Kash her crest rings, a coming of age tradition. Earlier than she would have liked, but Kashayel, newly renamed, was clearly going to have to grow up fast.
Nobody noticed the other ability that manifested with her Stone Shaping, though. Nobody caught on to how Kash had suddenly become extremely uncomfortable around their owners and overseers, or how she’d started being very good at finding people who needed a kind word or a helping hand. Kash knew that Ayel didn’t usually develop any powers other than Stone Shaping, but she’d also learned quickly that anything that made her stand out too much was something to hide.
From then on, Kash was kept apart from the other slaves, with the other Ayel. Though nervous and mostly docile, Kash was still a dreamer, curious of the world around her, and also deeply compassionate. She was born a nurturer and a defender in equal measure. She, almost accidentally, seemed to cause trouble everywhere she went. Whether by quietly encouraging others, or by actively defying their owners herself, Kash somehow ended up connected to many small acts of rebellion in any colony she was placed in. As a result, she started being sold off again and again, quicker than almost any other Ith. At least, any who weren’t deliberately trying to incite all out rebellion.
Her latest sale was after she’d used her Stone Shaping to aid the escape of a number of her fellow slaves, led by one of the few friends she’d managed to make. Her new owner, renowned for his cruelty, placed a muzzle over her face, and put her into a delivery pod, to take her to his colony. Next thing Kash could properly comprehend, the windowless pod was hurtling, caught in an unexpected gravity field. Built to take any punishments the vast voids could throw at it, the pod crashed into an empty path, and threw Kash head-over-heels to the floor. Abruptly free, even of the muzzle on her face, Kash ran away into the unknown, unsure of even what planet she’s landed on.
The Priority
1. Endurance
2. Strength
3. Reaction
4. Agility
The Powers
Power 1 – Stone Shaping – Kash can manipulate stone
Power 2 – Stone sense – As an extension of her Stone Shaping ability, Kash can sense certain properties of the stone, such as if there’s any metal in it, it’s shape if she can’t see it, or if there’s anything living inside it.
Power 3 – Climbing – Kash can use her stone shaping power to kind of glue herself to anything made of stone or rock, allowing her to scale it with ease.
Power 4 – Empathy – Kash can sense the emotional state of those around her. She can even use people’s emotional signatures to find them, like tracking a scent.
Power 5 – Darkvision – This one isn’t so much a power, like her other abilities, as it is simply a function of her species. Ith are subterranean, they live their lives underground, so they obviously evolved the ability to see well in the dark.
The Weaknesses
Weakness 1 – Physical Contact - Kash must be in physical contact with the stone or a stone touching the stone to manipulate it. EG she can touch a road to manipulate a pile of rubble on that road, but she cannot make that rubble levitate from that position because it would no longer be in contact with the stone she is touching.
Weakness 2 – Upper Limit – Kash can only Stone Shape so much rock. If a skyscraper collapsed, Kash could catch and hold some of the stone, but certainly not all of it. She can handle up to 30 tonnes of stone in one go but more than that and her power will overload and drop everything, leaving Kash exhausted.
Weakness 3 – No Off Button – Kash’s powers are constantly on, even if she’s not actively using them or paying attention to them. For instance, she always knows what’s under her feet if she’s standing on stone. This can be a problem for an empath, especially in crowds or in the presence of particularly cruel individuals.
Weakness 4 – No Context – Neither Kash’s Stone Sense nor her Empathy give her any context for what she senses. If she picks up on metal under the ground, she can’t tell you whether it’s a vein of ore or something manmade. If her empathy picks up on someone feeling sad, she has no idea what made them sad from just that.
Weakness 5 – Just Look At Her – Kash does not look remotely human, and even looks quite intimidating and scary at first glance. She’s also quite large and hard to hide. She’ll have trouble blending into society, and will likely cause some fright.
Weakness 6 – Clumsy – Ith aren’t really suited to fiddly or delicate tasks. They spend the majority of their lives underground, so they don’t tend to develop very good balance either.
The Items
All Kash has to her name are the clothes on her back, really. She has a pair of crest decoration rings that belonged to her mother that she wears constantly and is very attached to. She also has the muzzle that she wore for the transit to her new owner, which was damaged in her crash enough for her to remove it. Lastly, there is a cuff around her ankle that her owners could use to incapacitate her via electric shock if they ever find her.
The Minions
The Fluff
Fluff 1 – Kash speaks no Earth language. She’ll have to learn.
Fluff 2 – The Ith do not all share Kash’s abilities. You see, the Ith have their own version of the Meta-Gene, however theirs usually only manifests in one way, the Stone Shaping/sense power. These individuals are called Ayel, which is also attached to their names once their powers become apparent.
Fluff 3 – The fact that Kash is an Ayel made her a very valuable investment. One her owner might want to retrieve.
Fluff 4 –Kash’s eyes reflect light like a cat’s.
The RP Sample
Their plan had almost worked. With all but their getaway ship in the bay disabled, and no one caught while sneaking out of their beds that night, it had looked like they might have managed to escape without a single hitch to their plan. Giin led the way, as he always did, to the tunnels Kash had slowly been shaping over the past couple of days.Their way to get into the bay undetected. Then someone must have found one of their empty beds. The alarm went up, and chaos ensued almost immediately. All to quickly, they could hear the overseers on their tails.
Kash brought up the rear of the group, too slow and clumsy to keep up. Giin kept checking over his shoulder, even as doing so caused the rest of the group to pull ahead of him.
Kash stopped, and turned to face their pursuers. It took Giin a moment to notice and skid to a stop himself.
“Kash!” He shouted, but Kash did not turn. She reached up her hands and started to mold the stone.
“{Take the others, Giin! Get out and I’ll close the way behind you!}” She answered. She didn’t expect the three fingered hand of her friend to reach back through and tug on her wrist (somewhat unsuccessfully given the size of it). Giin peered through the rapidly shrinking hole with a determined frown.
“{Not without you! Hurry up!}” And with that, Kash frowned and shoved him back into the growing darkness.
“{GO!}” She shouted after him. He didn’t move immediately, merely stared at her the last few moments it took for the rock to fuse shut.
Kash hung there for a moment, panting. She could still hear the footfalls and clanking of the overseers and Bayan, their owner. She thought she also heard faint voices and movement in front of her, but the rock was already too thick to tell if she was imagining it.
Kash bit her lip, but couldn’t quite hold back a quiet sob. She leaned her weight into her rock wall, pressing her forehead into it. She nearly sank to her knees, but if she did Bayan would see it as weakness, or surrender.
A rough tug on her crest ring alerted her to Bayan’s arrival. It wrenched her away from the wall and made her wince as she was forced to look up at the tall, thin Yolii. He sneered down at her, his face green with rage. And exertion. He didn’t run much.
“{Stupid ungrateful little--}” Bayan spat in her face. She hated having to look at him. He was a spiteful old man who didn’t feel a drop of remorse when he looked at his slaves. Even Giin, who was a Yolii like him. All Kash picked up from him when he looked at Giin had been rage at his rebellious nature.
Well, now he was never going to have to look at Giin again. Giin, and the others, they’d all be long gone before anybody could get through Kash’s wall. The thought made Kash square her shoulders. The overseers arrived only a few moments behind Bayan. They cringed at the wall, eyes wide.
“{Boss, the operation… If those slaves get offworld, we’ll be shut down…}” One said nervously. Bayan’s green face suddenly went pale, then an even darker green.
“{Well?! What are you idiots waiting for?! GET TO THE SHIP BAY!}” He shrieked at the overseers. The practically tripped over themselves to obey, rushing down the tunnel. Bayan dragged Kash along a few steps by her crest ring.
“{I see, so this is what you meant by spirited.}” A voice said. Kash jumped. She hadn’t noticed this man, another Yolii. And as he stepped forward, it became disturbingly clear why. He had no emotional signature, no feelings for Kash to pick up on. A shiver went up her spine. It was as if she was looking at a frighteningly real but not quite real enough puppet.
“{Yes, my friend. I’m sorry, but this is what you’ve let yourself in for.}” Bayan said with a shrug. The other Yolii stepped forward, and took Kash’s other crest ring. Her mother’s crest rings, and everyone felt the need to use them like handles, it was disgusting. She couldn’t help but flinch as he tugged her face around to look at him, but she couldn’t make it very far with him holding onto her crest ring.
“{Oh, I like a challenge, Bayan.}” He smiled with all his sharp teeth. “{I’ll see what I can do.}”

Re: Kashayel
Just remember that your empathy will be permission based when used on other PC's and this should be good to go. I like this character. Approved until stated otherwise!
