Damn Dams (Kaiju)

The gathering place was a sleepy little Swiss town in the middle of the Alps, two hours from nearby Geneva. It was a small settlement of wood cabins and satellite internet connections, traditional oven made foods served and high tech vehicles awaited. It was relatively warm thanks to global warming, making the wilds green and yellow, while only the highest peaks still had snow caps.

Dragon Girl, or rather, the civilian Jae-Un Yong, was now a strong activist for minorities- women, refugees, religions, and of course, metahumans. She was welcomed at a local seminar as a resource speaker, calling for the protection of metahuman rights across borders. There was nothing too out of the ordinary, save for a few hardline conservatives who wanted to keep "them" out. Just your usual day in the life of international politics.

It was around 5 o'clock in the afternoon when the quiet town's life was forever changed. Matters of talk and refugees, minorities and metahumans were set aside when ominous lights shone in the twilight sky, descending rapidly on the Dam road in the mountains. The lights moved with immense speed and agility, and their intentions were sinister- only those with sharp eyes could make out that they were some manner of UFO, alien craft. In a blitz of alien weapon fire, they strafe the vehicles on the Dam with ruthless efficiency.

All eyes on the town were now on the Dam. The attack not only stopped the cars, but caused terrible, terrible damage to the massive barrier. Cracks were quickly visible, as was water starting to seep through, just as the smoke and flames on the now ruined dam road was. Silence quickly turned to panic, as people began calling for an evacuation... though at the rate the dam was cracking, a few of the residents resign themselves to this fate. "We'll never get out in time..." Some said.

That was when June stepped out and started her ascent to the site of the attack. With almost no one from town paying attention, the Dragon Girl begins power jumping up the mountain, scaling hundreds of feet with each leap, trying to ensure each landing did little damage to the environment.

Maikeru crawled out of the barn, buckling his belt. A slightly older woman follows him from behind, curious to the ruckus. Maikeru looked up to see disks in the sky, shooting brilliant light from above. The woman grabbed a hold of his arm, eefore he snatched it away. It was an alien assault. "W-we're all going to die." She was quivering. What'd you mean "we're"? I got powers, I'll be fine. I don't know about the rest of you- before he could finish, a bolt of light smashed down next to him, and Maikeru flew back, landing into a car. Maikeru's mind and vision went blurry, and his ears were ringing. He looked down, and saw that his leg was five feet away from him. [color=#FF0000]Maverick felt a tingling sensation in his knee, as his leg quickly grew back. Nope. He didn't care what happened to the people of this small pathetic little village, but he was not to be fucked with. At all. He stood up and looked into the sky. COME AT ME, YOU ALIEN BITCHES! Maikeru's skin expanded from out of his body, covering all of his clothes. It surrounded him into a gray orb of flesh. The flesh grew scaley. Large arms shot out of the orb, which began to form into a body, getting larger. A head popped out, screeching violently. A large tail and legs formed, as his transformation was complete.

Kaiju 100 feet tall:

His wings spread. He took to the sky. Kaiju fly high, deep within the clouds. Time to fuck shit up. Essentially, Kaiju was a moving target. But his insides were thinner, so he can fly much faster. The fire started to be centered on him from a few saucers, but he took to the clouds, appearing to be escaping. They stopped firing. Their focus was solely on the city. In actuality, he flew up only to dive bomb on a saucer, crashing it to the village below. He flew closer to another, and swung around to evade its fire. He flew passed it only to have his massive tail crash down on it, putting the alien vehicle out of commission. Things looked to be going his way, until all of the ships began to rapid fire on him. They shot him from multiple angles. His armor began to break. He needed to retreat. Kaiju flew to hide in the mountains, and made a destructive crash into the rock. He wasn't critically injured. He could shift into another Kaiju. He just needed to catch his breath.

The appearance of the Kaiju lifeform caused the alien attack craft to circle away from the area of the dam. The malign intelligence that guided them reassessed the situation, and reacted accordingly. The vanguard attack craft began taking evasive maneuvers to stall Kaiju from their real objective.

Rather than fight a giant monster with one of their own, the aliens decided to be total pricks. In the sky above the dam a massive, insect-like hive ship appeared, and from its flanks release clouds of robotic wasps roughly the size of sedans. While a single wasp could hardly threaten Kaiju, a swarm of a couple dozen would likely make his life difficult... especially since they were all programmed to execute a synchronized attack pattern, with some meant to distract while others went for his eyes with their plasma cutter stingers.

Meanwhile, Dragon Girl was on the scene and quickly assessing the damage. Her hopes were never high to begin with, but seeing the blasted and vaporized cars and the charred skeletons fused to their seats wrenched her heart. She took a pause, before focusing on the task at hand. On one hand, the dam was going to burst very soon- and the town below was in danger. On the other, the aliens were here and they wanted something. Experience taught her that. She quickly looked around the street and saw one large white van relatively unharmed. That must be it.

Still, no time to waste. She looked around for some kind of valve or release system to ease the stress on the dam, and was quick to start working on opening a flood gate.

Just need...to catch my breath. Kaiju was exhausted. The space ships had taken a lot out of him. He got up. He looked into the sky, to see that the aliens were swarming the bridge. He spread his wings again, and let out a screech. He didn't know why nor did he care. Kaiju never was a rational thinker. He flew into the air once more, sitting atop a small mountain to get a scope of the alien assault. It was a total blitzkrieg. Their fire was concentrated. They were after something....

That van. They were after a white van. He smirked. Oh...so that's what you want. He was going to have to fly fast, and fly low. He spread his wings, and forced them back, launching himself forward. He flapped hard. And with his talents, he clutched on the van, and flew quickly away, wandering if the aliens had noticed what he'd done. If he was lucky, they would only see him as a non sentient, just a stupid earth aliens.

He steadied his wings and landed on another mountain range. Good. They hadn't noticed...yet

DG was taken by surprise by the giant Kaiju monster. At first she thought the creature was one of their bio-weapons, but realized he was acting against the aliens' interests, seeing as they were trying attack Kaiju. With him departing with the van, the aliens left the dam alone.

Her efforts further left unhindered, DG spent the next few minutes to open all the dam's valves, steadily releasing water into the river rather than have it all burst. She used her ice breath on the water as well, not on the dam but on the reservoir itself.

As to the Van and its contents, Kaiju had yet to know of. The aliens were fixated on their objective and quickly redoubled their efforts on Kaiju. All the robotic wasps were now trying to hinder his movement, while the attack craft were converging on him, weapons primed and ready to fire... except, they didn't want to hit the van, so their accuracy dropped significantly.

Kaiju was backed into a corne. He was practically surrounded by space crafts,and robotic wasps. If this keeps up it won't be long before he will lose his Kaiju form. He decided what ever was inside wasn't worth it. He spread his wings to attempt to make a quick escape, leaving the van where it is. It was only a small retreat. Final shots were fired at him. This isn't over. This is far from over. Maverick didn't look back, as he flew over the bridge, and back to his retreat spot within the mountain. When he caught his breath he flew to sit atop the bridge to see what was going down with the aliens and the van.
