Junkeys [Maybe an arc or extension idea]

Now I don't know a whole lot about the NYA and what-not, but I just got caught thinking and thought of this.

Junkeys were orginally everyday people. That was before the NYA.
Of course, many escaped and survived. But for everyone who survived, there was one who didn't.
There was one particular one who "survived".
Kristoff Thames was an average man, worked an average desk job at average industries. He lived in an average apartment with an average wife.
This man had the average syndrome.
So when the NYA happened, his adrenaline went wild.
He pushed his way through all the chaos, he stayed in the heart of chaos the entire time.
Then a very unfourtunate explosion took him down. It blew his arm and leg off.
All that said, he began giggling like a madman.
That's because he was.
His madness was so accepted, it mutated into a virus.
An airbourne and highly contagious virus that infected all the other survivors...
Now they are everywhere.
They are a clan of crazed murderers who created outlandish and makeshift weapons.

Sounds like a character to me, especially considering that New York has already gone through its turmoil and is now rebuilt. So something like a roving band of random crazies from the assault wouldn't make so much sense now.
