Bullying a... you know. (Double XP)

"Excuse me, but is this all the tuna available?" A middle aged Japanese-American restaurant owner asked the fishermen bringing in the catch. The nets had been scarce, with few catches and most of them quite small.

"Nets have been empty all week. You want fresh fish so bad, go catch it yourself." The fishermen said, heading back to their ships at dock.

A disappointed young lady, along with several other market goers, left the fresh fish market and headed to the frozen goods section, as the displays for fresh seafood were sparse. She brought her shopping basket to the freezers to pick out her purchases.

"Imitation crab... frozen vegetables... frozen fish fillet... fish rolls... fish dumplings... squid rings... de-shelled prawns." She enumerates the goods that were available to herself. She fills her basket with groceries for the week, deciding to visit the butcher shop in town. She heads to the check out counter to pay for her food. Well, at least the town's been quiet thus far.

Clover was always on the move so it was no surprise that the young business woman found herself in Seattle. During this trip Clover was going to visit one of the many R&D companies that her company owned, but she was also going to use this trip as a mini vacation. That was at least what she had told Winston before boarding the flight. In truth Clover wanted to follow up on a lead she had gotten about some mysterious happenings up north.

The young raven haired girl was one of the few billionaires in the world that opted for a humbler life, or at least she tried to make it seem that way. Rather than being waited on hand and foot, Clover enjoyed cooking and caring for herself, with the exception of getting occasional help from Winston and her grandfather. To this end, tonight the young girl decided to cook up a nice dinner after having binged on pizzas and Chinese takeout.

She headed down to the local fish market only to be discouraged like so many before her, by the utter lack of aquatic delicacy’s. Clover was deeply in the mood to make a fantastic seafood paella but to her dismay she would have to settle on something that wasn’t from the sea. Not too far from the fish market was a small hole in the wall butchers shop. Clover ruminated over the various ways she could cook up many of the delicious cuts of meat to the point of acutely salivating. The butcher shot her a concerned look before she snapped out of her trance and chose to buy a few pounds of just about everything. It was enough meat to last her entire trip.

Clover entered the line with several bags of bloody meat and patiently waited to check out. A small rumble from her empty stomach prompted a small sigh. “I really wanted to make that paella too.” she said, seemingly talking to her stomach.

The line was being held up by a senior citizen who was regaling the cashier with a story about a war. The tall lady sighed, as the old soldier was in no hurry to finish his purchases, despite the cashier having already put everything in a bag.

"Paella? I have a Korean recipe for that." June remarked, unable to resist overhearing it with her heightened sense. She wanted to make small talk. "...Seafood's been scarce around lately though."

After a long winded story, the cashier finally beckons the ladies over with their purchases. Outside, thunder rumbled in the sky as rain started to pour heavily. The old man once again goes into a story about the time his platoon was caught in the rain, in the jungle. June sighed. "Looks like we'll be here awhile."

Clover looked up from her stomach to the rather tall woman before her, she slightly looked away in embarrassment as here she was talking about wanting to eat and she was carrying several bags filled with a variety of meats. What the woman said next caught her attention however, “That bad huh?” she said. The elderly vet in front of them was milking every second of his war story, to the point that the not so easily annoyed Clover was beginning to get annoyed. Luckily he wrapped up his story and things proceeded smoothly.

After paying for her food and retrieving her bags, she was once again met with the tall woman and the old vet. The sky had taken a drastic turn for the worse and within seconds of stepping outside, it began to pour. This prompted the vet to once again relive another moment for his time in the service. The young girl let out a sigh as she was not expecting rain and there for didn’t pack an umbrella. Clover promptly closed her eyes for just a second and a small green dome formed about a foot above her head and deflected the rain.

Clover turned her attention to the large lady “I’d totally love to get that recipe off of you some time.” she said in a playful tone. At this point she was just trying to make conversation as she wasn’t particularly fond of walking back to her home in the rain.

"Oh, sure! I'm Ja-Eun Yong, by the way. Let me get my phone and-" June stepped out into the rain with her acquaintance, carrying an umbrella. It was the power of common sense, given the local weather.

The blare of a city alarm started to echo across the port town, like an air raid siren. The grocery store behind them began to close down and people quickly began to evacuate, heading to their cars and heading out. In the distance, towards the ocean, a roar could be heard.

Above the two ladies, a battle had begun. On one side was a giant... jellyfish creature, the size of a small yacht, floating ominously into the town, about 3 meters of the ground. It emitted a strange, terrible energy to the street below. A crowd of about a dozen people gathered below it, following it... and these people were grossly, horribly mutated into some primordial sea mutants. They shuffled and groaned, hungrily eyeing anyone left in the streets.

Despite all the horror, June gave an unfeeling under reaction. "Oh. Looks like... a monster attack. You should probably evacuate... oh." June saw the energy umbrella above the girl and figured she must have had powers. She eyed the mutants, and she eyed the immediate vicinity, making sure no one was around.

Clover turned to retrieve her phone in hopes of exchanging contact info with the woman before her attention was shifted to the ominous blaring of the siren in the distance. The shop and its patrons took promptly to evacuating the area and locking things down. At first Clover thought this meant the possibility of a typhoon or tsunami or something, but then she looked skyward, and things got extra weird. Her look went from joy to utter confusion to straight up disgust as she witnessed a large floaty jellyfish like creature convert a group of people beneath it into a hoard of grotesque looking sea monsters.

Immediately Clover went into ruler of the world mode, wrinkling her nose and narrowing her brows at the large sea creature. “I’ll be fine. Maybe you should seek shelter though.” she said unaware of the fact that her towering companion might be in possession of powers as well. Clover’s emerald eyes scanned the massive sea monster before she realized she was still carrying several plastic bags filled with meat. She let out a small sigh as she realized she would most likely have to ditch the bags if she was going to stop this thing from attacking the city, or turning any more innocent people into mutants.

Clover turned to June and held out her bags “Think you could look after these? I’m about to go fight that massive medusozoa. And yes that is the weirdest thing I’ve ever had to say in my life.” Clover wasnt quite sure if the woman would agree of if she did in fact have a secret power up her sleeves, but there was an even bigger question that Clover had to answer, and that was, how on earth was she going to stop or bring that thing down?

She's had this conversation before. Clover indeed was someone with power. June needed not worry for the most part. "Shame to let these go to waste. I'll be right back then!"

And with a WOOSH! June sprints to the parking lot where she parked, a few blocks away and thankfully still free of mutated, human-fish hybrids. While she covered the distance in a few seconds, the task of finding a set of keys in her shoulder bag turned out to be more daunting. "...Crap, where'd I put those..." And so began the first struggle of the day, finding one's keys.

The giant monster jellyfish floated closer to Clover, the only living thing still in the immediate neighborhood. The slobering fish mutants were still in tow, waiting for Clover to become one of them.

From one of its many translucent tendrils, the jelly monster launched its weird mutation slime towards her vicinity, a vile substance that boiled away non-organic materials like acid, while turning living things into... well... part sea monster.

June dashed off with impressive speed, leaving Clover somewhat awestruck. Now was not the time to be standing around fan girling over June’s impressive feat, she had a much, much bigger problem to worry about. The humongous sea monster was now floating ominously towards the young girl, with its newly acquired mutant hoard in tow. The towering beat reared one of its long tentacles before throwing it forward and releasing a wave of corrosive slim. Clover couldn’t out run the sludge but she could at least shield herself from the initial blast.

A slight green hue took shape behind clover as she threw out a wide barrier to protect herself. The slime came cascading down upon the energy barrier and splashed right off, dousing everything in Clover’s vicinity. With the initial attack out of the way, Clover peered down to street level to see the mutated congregation rushing her. At this point she turned tail and began to run in the direction she saw June das of in. A second later the green hue took on Clover’s appearance and threw up another barrier.

The young girl continued to look over her shoulder as the massive beast advanced. “I’m supposed to be the ruler of the world and yet here I am running for my life in the shadow of a giant Jellyfish. Really wish the Monks would have warned me about this to!” she proclaimed as she continued to run. Once Clover reached the woman’s side she began preparing another spell, this time seven orbs began to form in an arch around her head. Clover tuned to June while also forming a sword of energy in her hand. “Got any recipes for jellyfish?” she asked in a lively and playful tone, to counter the dismal tone of the moment.

Just down range, the copy of Clover had turned around and was now following in the real Clover’s footsteps.

June finally found her keys and managed to unlock her car. In went the meat, into a box she keeps handy for wet groceries, especially during emergencies. Then Clover shows up, with her fish mutant posse and a quip about jellyfish recipe.

"...I'll need a bigger pot. And alot of vinegar!" June said jokingly, seemingly fearless in the face of these monsters closing in.

Two mutants make the attempt, their writhing clawed tentacles scratching the truck. June put a stop to that, putting the monsters in the ground... literally, burying them halfway into the parking lot.

"Not the car, please. I just made my first down payment for it!" June said with increasing indignation. Suddenly, a writhing jellyfish tentacle shot out from the ground and entangles June, pulling her into the ground.

More mutants come in, their tortured moans eerily audible over the driving rain. Tentacles, claws, fangs and beaks came for June and Clover, the mutants serving to pin them down as the giant jellyfish floated closer and closer.

Clover let out a small snort of laughter as June joked back. The laughter turned to utter silence when two of the mutated creatures approached the two and lashed out. In an impressive showing of sheer strength Clover watched on as the mountain of a woman she had just met, wound up planting the beasts six feet under, literally. Clover stood speechless and awestruck for a moment before catching one of the mutant’s tentacles reaching up out of their fresh grave to drag June down with them.

“Look out!” she shouted while trying to reach out for the woman’s arm. Clover would be a few seconds too late as June was dragged down into one of the craters. “Ja-Eun!” she shouted out, fearing the worst. Clover sincerely wanted to ensure that her most recent acquaintance hadn’t turned into fish bait, but she had bigger things to deal with, one being the rapidly approaching hoard of zombie like sea mutants, and the other being a massive floating jelly fish.


As Clover turned to deal with the advancing hoard, her ethereal clone had finally caught up to where she was and with that she began to strafe sideways away from June’s truck. As soon as the next two mutants got past Clover’s clone, they were met by a nasty surprise. “Checkmate!” she said to herself as two beams of white hot energy tore through her attackers. Her attention turned back to the rest of them as the rapidly approached her. *That’s four down. Only….eight more to go! Great! This shouldn’t be to hard.* she thought to herself as she came to a stop and held her sword at the ready.

Overhead the massive Jellyfish let out a low rumbling cry as it drifted closer to its pray, already rearing back on if its tentacles for another heavy down pour of whatever acidic mutagen it was housing inside its massive body.

June's annoyance levels shot to their maximum levels, and her maximum has been quite low lately. Well, maybe not enough to dragon up...

Like some sentient dragon-lady-plant, she turned in place in the hole and faced the Jellyfish. Clover's battle with the mutants kept them away from her, giving her room to breath deeply. The jellyfish chucked another mutating acid blob at them, and this time there was no dodging it.

Once her lungs were reasonably full, June let out that air into the raining street, blast freezing the mutants, the walls of buildings, cars, hydrants, street signs and the front half of the Jellyfish. The acid blob was turned into an ice ball and rolled harmlessly out of the way.

June calmly climbed out of the ground, an expression of serene rage on her face. The Jellyfish was frozen to the ground, at their mercy. "Now to turn this jellyfish into-" From out of nowhere, a missile collides with the jellyfish, inadvertently freeing it from the thick ice keeping it in place.

The creature leaves its mutants to perish, as it fled back to the ocean at good speed.

A large, squat looking mecha flew in, and gunned down the remaining mutants with its gatling gun. In a dramatic and over-the-top voice, he spoke to the ladies. "Fellow supers, fear not! Captain Salvo is here to save the day! See, I've driven the thing away!"


June stood there a bit dumbstruck. The monster was fleeing now, and this joker was letting it. She wanted to chew out the mecha, but she took a deep inhale to calm herself. "It's okay... let it go..." She repeatedly said to herself, calmly going to the car. "Let's go... uh, I didn't catch your name?" she called out to Clover.

But the giant mecha dwarf wasn't done. "Fellow supers, are you alright? It seems I came just in the nick of time! Your gratitude won't be necessary, all in a day's work... haha." At that, June rolled her eyes, for Clover to see.

The mutants advanced mindlessly onward to their supposed victim, but they were ill-equipped to deal with Clover’s impressive powers. The ethereal clone of Clover began to strafe after the real Clover. Each mutant that came in proximity to the clone took a blast from one of the orbs floating over its head until only half of the creatures remained. Clover had been using her clone to deal with the cannon fodder, while she kept her gaze locked on the monstrous sea creature.

The jellyfish brought back one of its many dangling tentacles in an attempt to unleash another blast of its nasty slime. Clover was ready as she had been making her way back to the hole June had been pulled into. She threw up a barrier in an attempt to shield herself and the other woman from the sludge, but just as she had set up, a forceful blast of wind erupted from the crater and flash froze just about everything in its path, including the toxic slime ball that was hurled through the air by the giant Jellyfish.

The blast of icy wind had covered the front half of the beast in ice and dragged it down to the ground leaving it wide open for attack. Clover however could not bring herself to move. She brushed frost of her shoulder as she stood in total silence, completely upset with her lack of power. Compared to this stranger she had just met, Clover was nowhere near as powerful as she knew she should and could be. It had been a little over a year since she had visited the monks and had her vision and she had shown little to no progression in her quest to becoming stronger.

Clover was just left in a daze, even after June had freed herself from the makeshift grave. The only thing that snapped her back to her senses was the loud boom that followed a rogue missile striking their disabled enemy. Clover looked skyward as a strange mech came swooping in, eliminating the remaining mutants at the same time. A low rumbling noise prompted Clover’s emerald eyes to shift from the new arrival to the fleeing Jellyfish. When a man’s voice came blaring out of the mech proclaiming his triumph, Clover couldn’t help but face palm. Off to her side, it seemed June was doing everything in her power to not lash out at the mech and its pilot and instead got in her truck and asked Clover to tag along.

With a snap of her finger, the orbs floating around her head and her ethereal clone dispersed into thin air and she made her way to the passenger’s side. “My name is Clover Sinclair. Appologies for not introducing myself sooner.”

"Nice to meet you Clover. Say, Let me drop you and your groceries off, it's the least I can do for help." June politely offered to her new acquaintance, barely paying Captain Salvo any attention.

The firepower bristling mecha took a couple of strides towards the women in the truck. He raised a mecha hand. "Wait, Citizens! Clearly you are capable of super heroism! As this town's sworn heroic protector, I'd like to deputize you!"

"No, no... you clearly have things under control." June tries to decline politely, averting her gaze.

"What? No... The monster's strength on land pales in comparison to when it's in the water. Granted, it usually only attacks when it rains... But with your help, together we can take the fight to the monster's domain!"

June's thoughts raced at this Salvo character's problem. His suit was focused almost entirely on firepower, he can't even get into the water. "Oh, no... I don't do that anymore. Good luck, I hope you can beat the monster one day."

The Mech now stood in the truck's way. From disappointment his tone now moved to suspicion. "What? I've never heard of a hero who'd abandon their patriotic duty of protecting American lives. Unless... unless you're an illegal immigrant of a hero. Your friend doesn't look American either. Is that it? You girls look pretty foreign to be heroing out here. "

June threw the stick into reverse, to try and back away. "Bye!"

"Hold it. Right there. Missy." The Mech put a hand on the hood of the truck, causing June to stall her car. A cold rage flared in her eyes for a moment, though she was exerting effort not to lash out at him.

Clover’s patience was reaching an all-time low, with their current predicament and the pretentious do-gooder in a metal suit. Clover usually always tried to find the positives in any situation and strived to maintain a happy life, but this man was pushing all the wrong buttons, not just with Clover, but with June as well. The would be hero continued to press the girl and woman to aid him bringing down the sea creature, and when the two reputedly refused, he became rather ignorant.

Clover would let the man speak no further and lashed out verbally. Unlike her friend who was doing her best to restrain herself, Clover flew off the handle. “For your information we would have been down dealing with that creature by now if you hadn’t recklessly charged in like some two bit, Dollar Tree Iron man knock off, all guns blazing.” Her emerald eyes began to glow and shine brighter as she peered into what she assumed was where the user of this much suit could see from. “I’m Clover Sinclair! I will rule this world one day! I have seen every possible future for this planet, and I assure you, you weren’t in any of them. So continue to harass me and my friend and I will see to it personally that the future comes true right here and now!” The raven haired girl took a few calming breaths after her long winded rant.

Not once did Clover bother looking away from the man instead she proceeded to glare at him. Her concentration shifted when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Her eyes trailed away from the man and down to her phone, it was her butler calling her. Upon seeing the number Clover’s entire attitude shifted as she answered the phone with a fake smile. “Hi Winston how are you? Huh? Giant jellyfish monster? No haven’t seen anything about it. Yes I’m fine, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m with a friend, I’ll tell you all about it when I get home. Ciao!” No sooner did the call end, Clover’s eyes immediately focused back in on the mech that was still preventing June and herself from leaving. “Now then. Where were we?”

He wouldn't let Clover finish, doing that obnoxious american thing where he'd argue at the same time as Clover spoke.

"Now hold it right there! I've protected this city for a good five years now, and I'm not taking no sass from a would be tyrant. Rule the world? Who sent you? Was it the Chinese? Or was it the arabs?" He continued pressing, prompting June to exit her vehicle. "Maybe you're a North Korean-"

"I AM NOT NORTH KOREAN!" June growled more than shouted, something about coming from wacko-land rubbing her the wrong way. Of course, as a matter of fact, she was born there, but she never took pride in being one of Dear Leader's designed super soldiers. Her very growl shook the ground and rattled windows, like a dangerous beast. It was the kind of growl you could feel in your heart.

Salvo crossed a line, and June quickly relieves the do-gooder of his arm, wanting to have a chat with the fellow eye-to-eye. Only then was it revealed that the mecha was not piloted- it was fully robotic. Servos and wires were all there was beneath the armor, rather than flesh.

"Oh no you didn't, missy. You have any idea how much I spent on this-"

Granted, Captain Salvo used his missiles on the Jellyfish, leaving him vulnerable especially in close combat. Before he could defend himself, June took Salvo apart as easily as a barbie doll. The machine shut down once its central CPU was torn out.

June took a few rapid, deep breathes, calming herself down. "Some hero." June tossed the broken mecha apart, and got back in.

June started her car again and drove out into the street, before coming to a halt again. "So uh... where do you live, Clover?"
