The Legacy

Personality: Scott is absolutely no-nonsense. His demeanor is cold and stoic and for good reason. He sees the world as filthy and vile, filled with scum, waiting to rob the innocent of everything. This potential for evil in man is something Scott knows first hand, being an ex-gang member himself. Because of this, Scott sees himself as irredeemable, a fact that allows him to commit morally shaky acts and make the tough but necessary decisions with little remorse. A modern day "Sin-Eater" is his view of himself, a person who is full of evil but can redeem the world by taking in its wickedness.

History: Scott Silver was punk, a good for nothing and a menace. His teachers hated him and you know what, he hated them too. He would do anything and everything he could to them to make their lives miserable. That went for his parents too. All were secondary to him and his needs. This abrasive nature and devil may care attitude, landed Scott in many situations he would have been better off to avoid, his gang life being the main one.

Around age 15, the age he dropped out of school at, Scott joined a small street gang. It didn’t start as much, some tagging here, some drug sales there but eventually the enrollment and intensity of the gang increased. And along with the gang, Scott also grew more violent and dependent on their illicit products. Scott killed a man in drug related violence when he was 17. He continued this lifestyle until he was 22. By that time he had risen through the ranks and was now one of the three leaders of the Hellhounds, one of the city’s most notorious gangs. Scott himself had a hand in creating their reputation. He was responsible for a string of murders throughout the city and was commonly referred to as the “Silverfish”. It took police one more year to catch him, but at the age of 23, Scott “Silverfish” Silver was finally caught, not for his more heinous acts but for one of his drug selling rings. He was sentenced to 15 years in jail.

After 5 years, the Silverfish, had enough of jail. It was stuffy, cold and his reputation on the outside meant nothing. He was treated like slop and he felt like slop. And compared to his life on the outside, the evil in this place was beyond anything he had ever committed. Even he, a person who had destroyed countless lives through violence and drug abuse was appalled at the acts and thoughts of the men he was now forced to live with. They were vile, each and every one of them. Every day he could hear them, talking amongst themselves about their achievements. It was at this time that Scott reflected in on himself. He did not like what he saw. Despite his distaste for his prison-mates, Scott realized that he really wasn't any better. Lives had been ended at his hands, this idea finally sunk in to him. It was as if his life up until that point had been a dream. He had taken a life, multiple lives. The more he thought on it the sicker it made him, and by the time he was released from prison, now 38, he despised himself. On top of his own hatred, years of substance abuse, had destroyed his body especially his lungs.
His first purchase after leaving prison was an air tank, his abused lungs no longer able to sustain him on their own.
Now an old man in his own eyes, Scott looked back on his life with excessive regret. his youth had been filled with hate and violence, squandered away like a disposable thing. Those years had taken such a tole on him, spiritually and mentally. There was no saving him, no redemption left for the middle aged gang banger. There was only one solution, to end his meaningless life.

In the city that Scott lived in, there was a large radio tower. Its location was remote, and Scott was sure that he could end his existence without causing much fuss to anyone else. He got there about an hour after leaving his home, he wanted to waste no time getting it over with. His heart beat hard in his chest, his mind filled with mostly with anticipation. Upon his arrival he could not help but to stop and marvel at the structure, there was no doubt that a fall from even halfway up would kill him.

Leaving his tank behind, he began his daunting climb up the side of the tower. The metal was cold against his scarred hands and his debilitated lungs struggled for air as he rose ever higher. he began to regret his decision. His lungs did not feel as though they could make the climb. Every breath bringing intense pain and ever increasing wheezing. Then Scott felt the rain. Only a drop at first but it sped quickly, growing into a mighty storm. This was not his day. Not only had he lived a meaningless and destructive life, bu tit seemed even his death would be thwarted.

About halfway up, Scott's lungs gave out. His chest heaved violently as he grasped for what little oxygen he could manage. As if a taunt from God the sky cracked and roared at him. He could only cling to the wet steel as his eyes fell to the ground. He could barely even see below him, his vision blurring from the lack of oxygen. "I should let go" he though as his consciousness began to slip. Passively he released, letting his body fall away from the structure. As he did, the sky boomed once again, letting forth a mighty bolt of lighting on the metal tower. electricity arched from the tower to Scott, igniting his dying brain.

Time seemed to slow as he approached the ground. In his mind something sparked, told him to live and he looked back to the metal beam he had clung to only seconds earlier. In an instant he reached back to it, his hand clasping around the slick surface.

Once his balance had been regained, Scott realized that the slowed time feeling he felt had not stopped. Rain drops fell visibly and he could count each one as they passed before his face. On top of this his brain raced, picking up on every subtle detail and every movement around him.

Scott was changed that day. His life might not have been worth saving, but he believed he was saved for a reason. And that reason was to do what others couldn't. He could now move at blinding speeds and process the information he received even faster. No longer would his life be meaningless. Instead, he would defend those he had once preyed upon with deadly results. Not as a hero no, but as a sin-eater, a man who was beyond redemption but could save others from a similar fate. Since his accident, Scott or "Redline" as he calls himself has done some questionable things; high profile theft, and bloody murder of those he deems worth killing to name a few. As long as he feels he is ultimately doing what will help society as a whole, he will bear the burden of additional sin.

Super-Speed:
Redline's entire body can move at incredible speeds in excess of mach 6 with intricate precision. (3 previous advancements from Redline)

"Processing Power":
Scott may not have been all that smart, but that was put in the past after obtaining the powers of Redline. His mind now functions at super-human speeds on par with or faster than his speed, to the point that world around him functions at agonizingly slow speeds. Currently what the normal person perceives as one second takes 3 minutes to pass for Redline. Because of this, he can evaluate his own movements and those of others with incredible accuracy and precision. Unfortunately, this is not always a good thing. He has had to relearn how to speak and interact with others as speech at his normal speeds is near incomprehensible. In any situation where he is not focusing on his speech and movements, they will devolve into their super speed forms.

Weakness(es):

Cancer:
Years of drug use, specifically of inhalants have left Scott's lungs permanently and irreparably damaged. While he can breathe unaided his condition is easily exacerbated by physical exertion or breathing in less than ideal conditions (smoke, chemical agents, etc.)

Damaged Mind:
Redline bears serious guilt for what he has done in the past and for the lives he takes though he does so willingly. Because of this, his mind is fractured leaving him highly susceptible to mental attacks such as mental illusion or attempted mind control.

Items:

The Claws
Redline has stolen intensive durable and heat resistant material from NASA and other highly advanced aeronautic organizations in order to create his signature weapons and outfit. Attached to each hand and foot is a Titanium alloy blade insulated against elctricity. Those on the hands have three 8 inch bladed "claws". Similarly each foot has one 3 inch blade on either side. These weapons are highly durable and incredibly sharp.

The Suit:
The suit itself is comprised a normal silver hoodie and jeans that have been woven and layered with lightweight, heat-sheilding material meant to protect shuttles on reentry from space. These are in place mostly to prevent his clothes from combusting due to the friction caused by his super-sonic movement.

The Mask:
The mask he wears is a modified fighter jet respirator, able to filter and maintain the air he breathes to ensure his heavily damaged lungs can function as close to normal as possible. Should his condition become exacerbated he can deliver a does f highly specialized medication to restore him to functional breathing conditions.

Weakness: Redline must manufacture (read steal and modify) the medication necessary to subdue the symptoms of his condition.
