The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
The onslaught had begun. Elena Vexus had made her move and has already restrained the Cabinet members and the President himself. At the moment she is waiting for her air lift to arrive to bring them back to the Genesis Vi Headquarters back in New York City. She has commissioned a handful of MetaHumans in order to help her in the assault. As time passes, the military forces will only become more forceful and though Elena is powerful, she cannot fight off an entire army. Vexus has placed all of these Metas in different key points in the D.C. area based on their skills and various abilities. They will have the responsibilities of fending off any Military advancements as well as any heroes that may be fighting against Vexus' cause.
At the Washington Monument Elena has placed two individuals. Doctor Mor and Revenant as they go by will be preventing any forward movement from any opposing forces. She found an interest in the Doctor as she could see a lot of her younger self in him and his works. If he succeeded in this event, he may become more valuable further down the line. As for Revenant, she had once before worked with an individual who could manipulate shadows. Vexus did not expect this one to perform as highly her acquaintance, but if his abilities were up to par against the enemy forces then there might be hope for him after all. Though she had her own business to attend to, Elena Vexus was watching.
Once Vexus' ride arrives the services of those she had recruited will no longer be needed, and it would be in their best interest to flee the area as soon as they can. Elena tends to be unpredictable in victory, or defeat. Her chopper will be easy to spot as it will most likely be the only non military air vehicle heading away from all the conflict. Everyone here is fighting for the future. Not only for the future of this country, but the entire world as a whole.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
Her motives could be easily questioned, however, the doctor had need of Vexus, the current failure of the pathetic humans and their inability to differentiate between Meta-humans and humans who gain their power through diligent study and mental strength. He draws his power from ancient wisdom... Not simply from being borne from the correct parents. The fools would learn by force.
The Black Doctor flicks his hand into his satchel and pops open the specially designed glass case that is nestled within, plucking the tennis ball sized object from inside. and squeezes the rubbery material, smiling with the knowledge of what is to come.
"The Washington Monument is now closed!" the doctor announces to the crowd milling about, flicking the orb into a high parabolic arc... people pause in their milling to look up at the man, his white coat fluttering in the light wind, his glasses reflecting the harsh sunlight... the black matte tag a stark contrast to the white and khaki of the rest of the doctor's outfit.
With a gooey splash the orb lands in their midst, spraying the gooey organic devouring bile over half a dozen people, and the screams begin.
Men pick up their children and grab their wives. Women grab up their beverages and papers, sprinting away in their business dresses and heels. College students leave their book bags and pizza. All of them running away from the horrific dissolution of skin, exposed muscles glistening wetly as their shrieks of agony rip through the air like a chainsaw into metal.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
Jeisen crouched on top of a rather large building, looking over the soon to be battle ground. Jeisen didn't really care about what the fight was about. He didn't care about who wanted what or why. No, Jeisen only cared about how they were harming the innocent in their campaign. Those civillians had done nothing to hinder these people yet they were still targeted. Thos bastards
He adjusted his gear one last time, double checking his multiple packets of knives, smokebombs, flash grenades, and other gear he had tucked away. It wasn't anything more then normal human gear.. except his knives. They were high grade throwing and parrying knives that he had tucked away around his body. He pulled out four knives and threw one down into the building roof. He then threw 3 more at the cardinal points of the battlefield, giving Jeisen some nice fall back points.
But Jeisen still remained crouched and hidden in the shadows of the wall. Just waiting... Waiting for the right moment to strike

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
As the area begins to clear of people there are a few blurs of silver arcing around, and the Doctor smiles, Perhaps my ally is taking the high ground he thinks as he surveys the few straggling people... and then focuses on the small woman glaring directly at him.
"I see... You are one of those that seeks to challenge the Lady Vexus, Well then allow me to introduce myself, I am the Black Doctor, and you shall be my patient. Jedidiah Mor is an arrogant bastard, and is not surprised at all as the foolish woman charges.
Then ice forms in her palm, the doctors face changes in an instant from superiority to the determined aggression towards a worthy opponent. As she flings the orb into the air, the doctor's eyes do not move from the woman, he focuses inwardly, gathering his magic into a thick viscous liquid inside of his own lungs. From above he hears a shatter, the orb of ice has broken or exploded, likely the second option, and the woman leaps into the air.
Now, it is the perfect moment, she has set herself onto an unalterable course.
The doctors smile returns as he expels into the air a thick dark cloud, The venom is an extremely powerful neurotoxin, if touched it will absorb through the skin, and attack the nerves, trying to induces muscle paralysis by preventing the ability of nerve endings to properly release the chemical that sends the message to the next nerve.
Mor rolls backward, away from the roar of the all too obviously not human woman, his eyes glittering as he reaches into his satchel with his right hand and grips a tiny smoke colored marble, his left wrist sports a darkened bracer, and he comes to his feet facing the twenty foot orb of purple-gray mist, writhing as if constructed of millions upon millions of vaporous starving serpents.
A few shards of ice have hit Jedidiah, but since the orb was spraying over a large area, it really didn't harm him that much.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
Stepping out of the front door of the small structure attached to the monument, Oberon looked about. His assigned partner had already wrought sufficient chaos to scatter the remaining crowd. A young girl, however, unlike the rest, with eyes gleaming ran forwards at the doctor, hurling a ball of ice that shattered above him, and preparing to strike him. The doctor rebuked by expelling a venomous cloud and retreating. Noticing the path of the girl, who had thrown herself at him, Oberon grinned. "Not bad, Doctor, but I doubt that smoke will put down someone so willful." Oberon stepped forwards, towards the smoke-obscured area, and called out to the void. "You there, are you alright?" He rapped his cane on the floor.
Magic flowed through his fingers, down his cane, and across the ground, manifesting itself in tendrils that seemed to slough off of the face of Mor's shadow, twisting and writhing to a semi-erect state around him, in a defensive manner. "Now if you're smart, you'll be careful around her."
(Short post because meh device that I doth be writing this on might die soon.)

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
Oh shit... smoke don't look very friendly now does it? Now there are three people all facing down on each other. Hmph, the girl attacked the maniac so I guess she can't be that bad eh? And who is the old man with the cane? And the hell is around him, freakin shadows? I cant freakin hear what they are saying from here dammit.
Jeisen talked to himself quietly as he planned out his next move. He'd have to make this quickly Let the girl run distraction? No she could get overwhelmed before a good chance came up.
Jeisen sighed tiredly and hoped down off of the building. He started walking towards the trio slowly, hiding himself among the fleeing crowd. Not that they would be cover for very long, but every second counted. He looked for all intents and purposes, normal. A black hoodie, black pants. Nothing standing out on him. Only his hood was pulled down to cover the upper part of his face

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
As the dark tendrils of the poisonous cloud prepared to embrace Sim she folded her arms across her chest and closed her eyes. She became wreathed in an aura of flame, though rather than heat it permeated a bitter cold. As she passed through the poison frozen crystals of venom dropped onto the ground, frozen by her dragon flame. She landed in front of the doctor, gritting razor-sharp teeth as she felt some of the poison's effect. The fire had minimized her contact with the dark cloud, but she could still feel her muscles tightening. Her movement was labored, but she had endured much worse pain. She had been tortured and crippled by the Torch, and they still saw defeat at her hands. This villain had best not underestimate her.
The poison had made movement more difficult, offsetting her advantage of agility. Sim was adaptable though, she had spent a lifetime studying the martial arts without ever intending to use them in true battle. These human villains, with the lifespans of mayflies, fought like angry children. Brute strength was no match for discipline, and no dirty trick would change the outcome of this battle. Sim stood slowly, her arms moving deliberately into a defensive boxing stance. "This..." She growled through rows of dagger-teeth as her jewel eyes glowed with bluish energy. "Will not stop me!" Her tightened fists short forward like two boxing jabs, the small movements saving much-needed energy with the poison still working through her system. The fact that her draconic blood had not already expelled the toxin spoke to its potency, and she shivered to think of what it must do to humans. Each jab summoned a mass of flame, shooting forward like comets at the doctor. The fire was cold enough to burn flesh and destroy extremities on contact, and the air around the flames twinkled as it froze the air around it as they headed quickly straight forward towards the terrorist. She couldn't afford to let up her attack, she needed him off balance. One opportunity was all she needed to end this.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
As the burning light of the flames frothed outwards from the noxious cloud of gas, shadows writhed in spiraling fury around Mor, and not unlike the dark hand of some malevolent god, the tendrils grasped their charge, lifting him into the air, before hefting him to the side. Though dispelled by the furious fireballs the young girl had wrought upon the scene, the tendrils remained a ghostly image on the ground, retreating from the bright light that was quickly retreating."For your sake, Doctor, you had better not remain a burden much longer," Revanent shook his head, "though I suppose I must give you credit for slowing her down." Oberon the smiled, and tapped his cane on the ground once more. "Alive and well, I see. Unfortunate." His smile shifted to a sneer. "You would have been better off unconscious, but I suppose pain is the price of ignorance." The ghostly tendrils sprung forth from the ground again, seeming almost... Quicker, or faster to react. They fumed angrily for a moment, before turning towards the figure next to them, and lashing forwards in a manner akin to that of a whip; not so much as to wound as to make contact.
Meanwhile, over at the side of Mor, Oberon's voice could be heard acutely, as if he were not feet away. "Listen. A younger male is approaching through the retreating crowd. Deal with him, I can handle the situation here. Remember that not a single civilian matters, as long as Vexus can do what she needs to do. Use that knowledge to your advantage."

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
As Sim charges, fire blazing in her eyes and palms, the doctor's bracer flashes black through the sleeve of his lab-coat. A blackthorn staff appearing in his palm. Bringing the weapon into a defensive position, to defend against the attack of Sim. But suddenly the tendrils rise and Mor is thrown bodily over to Revenant. "Woah!" Doctor Mor hits the ground carefully, rolling over and to his feet.
Jedidiah chuckles, his adrenaline pumping, and lab-coat billowing, the white fabric covered in dirt, "I am sorry to burden you, comrade, though your assistance is quite welcome..."
As the cloud of purple and grey smoke disappears from the landscape, the poison in Sim's body continues to break down, all of the impulses that were struggling to fight through were put through all at once. A human, after having succumbed to the paralysis of the toxin logically would attempt to struggle, sending millions and millions of impulses through their system, none able to get through like water building up behind a dam, the chemicals build.. and suddenly all of the chemicals that trigger muscle movement get through at once. Muscles given orders to loosen and tighten simultaneously...inflicting body-wide seizures on a massive level.
"Voogdes, kom na die lewe!" The doctor says carefully as he slips a ring onto his finger, the ring is carved of black wood and has raven feathers running up the back of his hand. With a bright flash, the granite beneath his outstretched hand begins to bubble and churn, rising into a massive statuesque humanoid. The construct out thrusts its hand and the ground explodes with shrapnel, flying towards Jeisen in a conal pattern.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
The villain was saved from Sim's blasts by a cohort, who now turned to face the dragon child. The mad doctor began causing more destruction, but Sim had more immediate concerns. The flamboyantly dressed man was smug, but Sim had far too much discipline to be taunted. "Ironic that a mayfly such as yourself would speak of ignorance." Humans could be so arrogant, despite the fact that their lifespans were far too short to learn much of anything. Perhaps that is why man could be so reckless.
The man's face was covered by a mask, but malevolent intentions were written all over him. He summoned more of the lifelike shadows to assault Sim, but she was ready. She had spent nearly a century studying martial arts, though she never dreamed in her wildest fantasy she'd ever see real combat. As the tendrils snapped forward at her like cobras she quickly leaped off the ground, her small frame belying a fearsome strength. She shot up and forward in a quick somersault, her leg kicking down as she span sending off a streak of icy cold flame in the masked man's direction. Though it appeared to be headed for him, it was actually aimed to go right over his head and hit the ground behind him. As the flame soared towards the shadow priest so did Sim landing crouched in front of him, making her an even smaller target than usual. As the flame prepared to crash down Sim let loose with a fearsome punch aimed up at an angle at the man's kidney. The fist crackled with blue lightning as it shot up and forward like a bullet, the flame simultaneously coming down immediately behind him.

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
Oberon's accomplice, turning away from him to face their approaching aggressor, donned a ring, and set his hand on a granite slab which began to churn and froth. An arm, reaching out of it, pulled up a head, before a torso and two legs, along with another arm. Before half a second had passed, a large statuesque gargoyle had brought itself out of the stone, and moved towards the fleeing crowd and the approaching enemy. "Also, Doctor, please don't address me as comrade. I am your senior." Oberon, then moving to focus completely on his opponent, took a step forward, entering the midst of the tentacles of shadow he had evoked from the earth. "Ironic that a mayfly such as yourself would speak of ignorance." The female said, before launching herself over his lashing shadows, before launching a bolt of cyan flame past his head. Oberon, turning ever so slightly as to be able to keep the blaze within his vision, drew from his cane a sword, and bore it in front of his person as the smaller woman threw at him an adroitly executed blow that crackled with cerulean bolts of energy.
"Dämmerlicht!" Oberon's body shimmered in shadows, shuddering, melting into raw fury, raw fear, that burned at the very edges of the existence upon which he infringed, tearing at the very fabric of sanity itself. A lifetime in a moment, the images of horror solidified into an armour of similar disposition, of similar hate, as if they had never been. The murky steel of the armour that Oberon's very being now seemed to encompass appeared sharp, as if to cut into the air that surrounded it. The stone at his feet cracked as the armoured titan shifted to the side of the blow, and advanced towards the woman, chopping brutally downward at her outstretched arm with the wickedly-edged blade he held. "I WILL NOT," he thundered as the swing fell, "BE CALLED A MAYFLY BY THE LIKES OF YOU."

Re: The Science Behind Men, Magic and Shadows(Doctor Mor/Revenant VS Sim/Jeisen)
The doctor smile sharpens, turning from amusement to annoyance. Superior? He is at the very best my equal, the poor deluded fool. He tilts his head slightly and mentally directs the monolithic being to assist in the assault of the female assailant.
The Safeguardian stomps its massive foot, shattering the ground and blowing the stone up, erecting it into a curved wall directly behind Sin, trying to cut off her escape.
Jedidiah Mor explodes, flinging a string of smokey orbs into the ground and in a puff of red fog, disappears.
Just under six hundred feet away Mor reappears, gently straightening his lab-coat and tie...
"Die, woman." Mor mutters, having been put into a terrible mood by the comment about superiority... Extending his empty hand he alters the air itself, magnifying the microscopic particles of gold that naturally occur in the air, forging a chain out of his willpower and the fires of magic that fill his soul and body. The chains will reach their target in less than a fraction of a second... seeking their target with murderous intent and horrific effect... the acid that coats them will burn through any material if given time... flesh, will not even slow their passage down unless it is almost deific in its resistance.

As the man shimmered Sim could feel everything wrong with humanity emanating from him. He exuded an aura of malice, overflowing with hatred and anger. He embodied everything that kept humankind from reaching its potential. Perhaps then, it was fate that the dragon child would face him. If she was to succeed in the face of these odds, then she would have to make these things his downfall as well as man's. Defeating these villains would hardly bring the light of knowledge to man, but it would be a start. A testament that kindness and discipline were stronger than hate and greed. As much as she abhorred violence, it was her duty to her adoptive world to stand and fight.
Sim remained calm as the man transformed himself with shadows. "Such an arrogant insect." She spoke in an odd lilting accent. Her tone was more than a little condescending, but it spoke of pity more than condescension. "You don't bother to see the big picture past your tiny lifespan. The spirits grant you a stinger, and you think it puts you above the other bugs. You could use your power to aid your race, it desperately needs it, but you're too small to use it for anything but senseless destruction." Sim stepped back and to the side as she stood up, easily dodging the blade. It came crashing down inches from her expressionless face as it crashed down at her feet upon the now cracked ground. "You are an angry child lashing out. Strength is no match for discipline."
Sim's words were cut of short as the massive gargoyle approached, upending the very stone beneath its feet. Sim barely had time to react before the doctor reappeared, muscles tensing for an attack. Sim leapt back, but her back was met by a wall of granite. The chain of gold flew past her, then slowed noticeably. Once Sim saw the forward end of the chain begin to curve she realized the predicament she had been placed in. If he intended to bind her to this wall with a metal chain, he greatly underestimated her strength. Of course, she couldn't make the same mistake by underestimating his sorcery. Sim reached out and grabbed the living chain, and her hands were instantly met by signals of sharp pain as her gloves melted onto her skin. Stream rose from her hands as the chain quickly ate through her gloves and began to burn her stone-like skin. Caught between a golem and a hard place, she had to make a quick decision.
Sim's eyes glowed and cracked with cerulean energy as her hands began to glow with orbs of similar energy. The orbs grew larger until they met, creating an explosion that fired super hot shards of ice in an arc in front of her, and hopefully pieces of the fiendish chain at those who sought to bind her with it. A deafening sound, like the shot of a cannon, sounded through the area a second after the explosion was triggered. The force of the explosion sent Sim herself flying back and straight through the wall of granite with the high-pitched scream of a child. The entire wall of stone was destroyed, sending chunks of granite flying along with Sim. She traveled 100 yards in the blink of an eye before gravity once again asserted control over her. Her hand caught the ground first, pushing off the ground and flipping in the air so as to land on her feet. She continued to slide back from the force of the explosion, her involuntary retreat slowed by a clawed hand that drug across the concrete sending sparks into the air until she finally slowed enough to stand. Her gloves and the better part of her sleeves had been vaporized by the explosion. Her forearms were covered in burns and scrapes that bled slightly, as were her hands whose wicked claws were now visible. Her face and the clothing on the rest of her body were covered in scrapes. The stiffness of the poison was working its way out of her body now, but it was replaced by a soreness that pulsed through her entire body. She had put all the power she could manage into the blast, even she with skin like stone and bones even stronger felt like she had "just been hit by a train." to use human hyperbole. Her dagger-like teeth were bared in anger and her eyes crackled with fearsome energies as she landed, but she closed her eyes for a moment and opened them to reveal the purple jewels behind the glow. Anger was weakness. A warrior's mind must be a calm mind.
Sim stood up slowly, placing her left hand with clawed fingers outstretched in front of her and her other in a fist behind her in a defensive stance. The resulting dust and smoke from her explosion made it impossible to see anything but she knew the battle was not over. The doctor at least had been far enough away to escape the main blast, though the shards of hot ice and shrapnel might have wounded him she was sure the rogue had more tricks up his sleeve. The other man had been right in front of her though, and she hoped his inky armour was strong enough to keep the blast from liquefying the fragile human within it. She didn't exactly fear for the man's well-being, but she didn't want to have to become a murderer to win this battle. She wanted the men beaten, but alive enough for the human authorities to carry out their own justice. She was a guardian, not a judge.
