Banned Powers List

I think there should be an updated list of powers that aren't allowed, or are only allowed with discussed exceptions and it should have it's own sticky. I realize that list is a bit short to get it's own sticky, but it is the most common question I hear from new members, and even older members making a new character. The list of banned powers in the rulebook is already a bit out of date. We've kind of been using a "Just ask a mod and they'll tell you if it's okay" system, but frankly that's....not a great system. Especially when a mod O.K.'s a power, only to have another mod repeal that decision which has happened at least a few times which isn't good for the players or volunteers.

and like I always say, if it isn't quantifiable it shouldn't be a rule. I mean, I only said that once...just now...but I still stand by it.

Anyways thoughts? Do other people see this question asked a lot, or do I just always happen to be around when it gets asked?

This is a really good idea/question, and I'm curious, too. There are some listed races not allowed, but not many specific powers.

The way I view it is this: Everything can have a chance; but there's the common sense factor of this board.

No Explosive Making powers

No Implosive making powers

No Gravity manipulation powers

etc

But you're right. A full list with detailed reasons as to why it's banned would be helpful. I suppose if you have any more ideas for this list, list the banned powers in this thread. Or PM me. Either way, I'm open to suggestions.

Awk, why's gravity banned? I know it's hard to roleplay against, but so are most powers.
