Odd Situation (AbgelofDarkness)

"Yes, I very much enjoy coffee from these humans--One of the very few things I can stand from them." She nodded a bit, the tiniest hints of a smile licking at her soft lips. "I was going to go anyway . . . Though if I had your company it wouldn't affect me as much as if you were a regular human being. Which way shall we leave, Sir Otac . . . ?" She asked, purposely saying 'sir'. She liked labelling people. And he was officially 'sir'.

Otac sighed in aggravation but enjoyed the company as well. He held his arm in a loop and as soon as she placed her hands within it he began to walk equally with her. He lead her to his favorite coffee shop, the place where he didn't try to destroy it. He had a history of destroying coffee shop. He let go of her, ordering his drink and sitting in a corner booth, far away from the entrance as he waited for his coffee.

Cassandra always came to the little coffee shop to read and lounge around for a good portion of her day. Of course the lady knew well what she ordered. So, simply offering the kind old woman a little smile, she put both hands in her pockets for warmth and went to go sit beside Otac, but kept her distance. Being there so often, she felt at home and simply slif off her shoes and pulled her knees up onto the booth. Without her shoes and with little footie socks, little Cassandra looked rather adorable at the moment.

"I come here often . . . It's like a den for me--And i always sit in the booths to get away from everyone . . . Nice choice, I have to say, sir."

Otac leaned his head against the seat and breathed out. It was nice to take the mask off and enjoy a little quietness. He looked over at her as she sat down, raising his eyebrow when she said she came to this restraunt often. He had to admit, she did look adorable sitting there. He placed his arm around her, feeling as if it was normal to do so in a situation like this.

"Same here. I go here often to get away from everything."

Tensing slightly, she blinked curiously and glanced up at him. "Excuse me, sir,but I must say that I am not comelled to giving you my full trust . . . " Taking one little hand out of her pocket, she daintily took his arm in her grasp and lightly pushed it off of herself. "I find you interesting and a lovely companion as of now, but I cannot say I fully trust you to give me such physical attention just yet . . . "

As the little woman came back with a their coffees and set them down, she quietly thanked her and so[[ed on her coffe. "Oh--You get the same thing I get. Perhaps we do, indeed, have more in common that I suspected . . . "

Otac felt a little denied but stopped caring when the coffee came back. He had to admit, he was surprised that she ordered the same thing. He picked up the cup and sipped the coffee, placing both his hands on the cup. He smiled at the old lady as she left and placed his coffee cup back on the table. He sighed and said.

"Coffee feeds the soul....heh....That's what the waitress of this place said after she gave me the cup of coffee. Of course she quit when this place was in the danger zone that I created. Of course the place wasn't near where I was."

He sipped the coffee again and placed it back on the table. He looked down at her and said. "Where did you find this place? I found it when I was running away from the heroes that 'protect' this city."

"Well . . . When you live in a place you really hate for so long, one can only venture out and explore . . . After all, I had to eat to surivive and I couldn't necessarily just go 'hunting' and eat. I tried eating raw meat once--I nearly died of food poisoning. Five years has taught me alot, let us keep it that way, kindly . . . "

Sighing, she turned away from him just slightly and gazed around the building. "When I first arrived, I was alone and had to learn a whole new language, culture, and way of living . . . The people here were all kind women and helped me. Got me new clothing, food, and taught me how to care for myself. With my span of knowledge, I learned the English language in a few weeks and I got a job at the library. From then on, I kept coming back here. It's like a second home almost, to be honest. I slept in one of the booths my first night as a human. So, all in all, and mind my rambling, I found this place simply by wandering aimlessly around as a bumbling human being that first night . . . "

Subconsciously and not really meaning to, Cass gradually began to lean against the criminal as she spoke. He was a warm soothing presence almost--Making her almost want to be a bit closer to him. But then again, that was simply her innately affectionate feline spirit.

Otac moved in closer to her, feeling her pain of being alone. He then leaned over her, placing his arms around her to whisper something.

"I was kidnapped by a man named Cato and forced to become a criminal. I had to learn how to survive out in the streets and rob people, take lives even, just so an old man can have some extra cash in his pocket. I think you are possibly the luckiest....person...in the world." He said, letting her go because of what she said earlier about not trusting him. How could she? He was a psycho.

For several moments, she glanced down and said nothing . . . Her emotions were getting the better of her, therefore the voices were becoming chaotic . . . And before long, her Xeadian snow leopard ears were vislbe and drooped sympathetically--an emotion such a princess didn't know often. But alas, the human form had weakened her sense of pride.

Glancing over at him finally, she wound her petite arms around him as well as her small fram would allow. "I don't show sympathy often, but I have to tell you that I do feel sympathy for you, Thomas. I understand what it's like to be forced into doing what you do not wish to do. I was born royalty, I never really wanted it--I never chose my path. Also, beaar in mind that I wasn't just a dress wearing 'princess', I had to train, never have a childhood or make any friends. I was always learning, always meditating, always . . .doing something I didn't want to do."

She'd seen it done often by humans and decided, what the hell. Leaning up, she very softly pecked him on the cheek. "You have my utmost sympathy and you can talk to me about it if you wish . . . I'm . . . all ears apparently." She blinked, twitching an ear before focusing and making the cat ears disappear.

Otac's eyes widened as she called him Thomas, a name he hadn't heard from anything. He placed his hands on her hips as she hugged him. His hands felt like they perfectly fit with her hips. He felt his cheeks heat up as she pecked his cheek. He turned back to his cup of coffee and placed his hands around the cup. He smiled as he looked at the cup. "Thanks. I don't have any more troubles with that old man....sense he's dead." He said, not being upset at the death because he was the one that caused it. He looked at her as her ears went back to what he thought was unnatural. He placed his hand on her ear and said. "Don't...I like it when people are themselves. It makes the masks go away."

"But . . .We are in public--I cannot just morph right here, I'd be called a freak and there'd be cameras everywhere . . . I'd love to be Xeadian once more . . . But I've had to change to adapt to this hell of an environment." She sighed, gazing up at him slowly.

Otac smiled and said. "I would love you as yourself. I do have a place but I really think it's too forward. Unless you don't mind?" He kinda felt like he was going to fast but to be honest, he was starting to like this alien.

"Well . . . If that is what you want I would not mind--It is not as if I have anywhere special to be. But I should be back to my home around 11 O clock--I have to work tomorrow unfortunately." She shrugged lightly, slipping her small shoes on and getting to her feet. Reaching over and grabbing her cup of coffee, she called a little thank you to the staff and then turned to Otac. "Well, Sir, Otac . . .? Are you sure you want to allow me into your domain?"

Otac flinched and grabbed her arm, standing up quickly and covering her mouth. He looked around, trying to see if someone was listening in. Luckily, no one had heard. He let go of her mouth and said. " Xeadian, don't say my villain name in public. I'm sorry, but I'm a little infamous." He grabbed her hand softly and lead her to his home. He was sure he could trust her with this at least, he had nothing to lose because this wasn't his only base. He let go of her hand, opening the door and allowing her to enter. The house had a long hallway with a door at the end. To the left was an arch way that lead to a living room and another door that lead to a kitchen. To the right were stairs that lead to multiple rooms. He closed the door as soon as she entered and locked it. He didn't trust the neighborhood. He looked back at her and said. "It's not much but it's all I have for now. The house is quite large. My parents....well they use to live in mansions and moved here to have a normal life." Indeed the house was large , the ceiling reaching up to 9ft. It did kinda feel like living in a mansion.

" I see . . . But, by my living standards, this is incredibly generous. I live in an apartment--You're living area is probably more volumous than my home. It is lovely." She complimented, glancing around. "Much more luxorious than what I am used to--Of course, being tribal, I've lived outside my whole life. And as a human, I've simply lived doing the bare minimum to stay alive." Shrugging it off a bit, she turned to face him and admitted, "You do not need to call me Xeadian anymore than I have to call you Sir Otac. Xeadian is my race and tribe--that of which I was banished . . . As much as I love them, it pains me to really hear the name. Call me Cassandra . . . But never Cass . . ."

Otac nodded and said "Okay Cassandra." He walked over to the living room and into the Kitchen, preparing some tea and walking back to living room. Placing two filled cups of jasmine tea on the coffee table. He smiled at her and said. "Why were you banished? If you don't mind me asking?"
