The meeting of minds.

New York City, La Hermosa, 8:56 pm

Nick had been working since 12 in the afternoon till now. He smelled like tacos and salsa; he did not mind the smell because he got free food. But there had been something bothering him lately. Nick was so used to Jack Suarez being there boss but now his nephew had taken over the restaurant along with his girlfriend Essa or whatever her name was. He honestly did not care but wanted to talk to the new owner face to face. Something about the owner Victor bothered him a bit, like how Victor worked late nights then came into the restaurant late in the day and followed the same routine. He was starting to be convinced that Victor was up to something but could not figure it out. He punched out on the clock four minutes later and walked to the back to where Victor's office was and knocked on the door waiting for Victor to open the door.

Victor had been sitting in his office finishing up some paperwork that his uncle left for him. He had to leave in about two hours to go take of his night job. But he had noticed that blonde hair kid had been watching him leave lately and thought that was weird. He could swear that kid was stalking him at night but it may just have been Victor over reacting. Victor leaned back in his chair looking at the ceiling thinking about Essa. As he was thinking about her; he heard a knock on the door. "Come in." Victor leaned forward in his chair and placed his hands on the desk and waited to see who was behind the door.

Nick heard Victor say come in and opened the door. He saw his boss sitting there with his hands on the table. He almost got nervous but he had never been that type. His plan was just to introduce himself and find out a little about the boss. "Hey boss, I just wanted to come introduce myself. My name is Nick Zuma; you can all me Nick. I just wanted to make sure we are in good hands after Jack Suarez passed away." As Nick spoke he walked in the office and closed the door behind him. He leaned against the door as he waited for Victor to reply to him.

"Nice to meet you Nick. My name is Victor Suarez the nephew of Jack. I do plan on running this business the way he ran it after he left so soon. But sit down, tell me why is a young man such as me working hard when he could be going to college or doing something better than working here." Victor leaned back in his chair folding his arms as he waited for Nick to reply. He was baiting Nick in slowly to tell him about his past and hopefully find out who he is and know him a bit better.

"I have a long life story that may bore you. But I was raised in a foster home until I became 18 then I began working for your uncle at that age then in two years I was able to move into my own apartment. That is what I have been doing ever since then working for your uncle. College is not for me I think I have a greater calling in this world besides school." After Nick finished speaking he went and sat down in front of Victor. He was getting tired of standing because the blood was rushing to his feet which bothered him a bit.
