Horatio Bushmills, the liquid hero. Empty Horatio Bushmills, the liquid hero.

Post by The_soapmaker April 4th 2010, 5:40 pm

Real Name: Horatio Bushmills, but actually is named ‘Yix-na-iinsalq’, which in some alien language means ‘Water of thoughts’.
Super Hero Name: Hydro
Title: Yix-an-iinsalq, Water of Thoughts.
Alignment: Good
Age: 34 years of life experience, but the creature itself is over 9000 years old.
Gender: no gender, but considers itself male.
Race: Yix-an-iinsalq
Hair: None
Eyes: None
Height: N/A
Weight: 534 kilos, which is about 1174.8 pounds. Wow, that’s heavy, ey? Well, he’s 80 liters of a substance that weights 6,86 grams per cubic centimeter.

Character Image: Picture 80 liters of a liquid with the consistency of mercury and the color of anti-freeze fluid. Well, that’s Horatio. He’s got a melting point of -90˚C and a boiling point of 300˚C. If you don’t know how hot or cold that is, look it up on the internet. Water becomes Ice at 0˚C and boils at 100˚C.

Costume image: Though Horatio can’t actually wear anything at all, he sometimes ‘pours’ himself in a medieval armor, or around a fake (or a real) skeleton, making him look like a sunken Ghost Rider. And occasionally, he might stick a mask to a part of himself that he uses to indicate some sort of a face.

Personality: Horatio is a very gentile and polite person. He would treat anyone, friend or foe, with absolute politeness, though the things he says may vary in content. Besides that, he is very somber for a liquid, or for a person, for that matter. He occasionally suffers from mood depressions. Horatio also loves poetry and art, and frequently visits museums.

History: Horatio Bushmills was born (in Glasgow, the UK) as the second child of a writer (his dad) and a artpainter (his mother). He lived a reasonable life, his father made quite a lot of money with his books, but his mothers painting never really sold. But Horatio was never really happy. He seldomly smiled when he was a kid, and in his teens, it got even worse; he became a New Waver (dam! dam! daaam!) (It's like a crossbreed between an emo and a goth, difference is that new wave is awesome and Emo is nowhere near awesome (yes, this may be regarded by emo's as 'offencive'). New Wavers are those people who dress in black and listen to Joy Division and The Cure and such.)
Anyway, Horatio's youth was dark and grim, mostly because of the music. He did have friends, but they were new wavers too, so it was all okay. Horatio finished school, followed a couple of courses in poetry, and eventually became one of Glasgows' most famous poets. He met his future wife Mary-Ann on the bus to London. They got a child, a son, called Erebus Eris.

But on the 17th of february 2020 a strange object fell from the sky and crashed on shores of Scotland. Meanwhile, Horatio was walking on those particular shores, and he witnessed the crash from about half a mile away. When he reached the object, it turned out to be an extraterrestrial vessel. The aliens who were flying the thing apparently died on impact. Before he knew it, he was knocked down by something. It was the Yix-an-iinsalq, a liquid organism that the aliens used as some sort of internal communications medium. 600 years ago, the organism had been captured by the extraterrestrials and taken away from its planet. The extraterrestrials used a combination of drugs to sedate the Yix-an-iinsalq, erase it's memory, suppress its will and keep it 'in line'. When they crashed on earth, a pointy rock breached the pipelines where the Yix was running through, releasing the liquid into our earthly environment.

Now, the Yix instinctively attached itself to the very first conciousness it encountered. Unfortunately for Horatio, that conciousness was his. The process of copying the conciousness instantly killed Horatio, but in a way, he lived on, as the Yix-an-iinsalq. The liquid in a way now thinks it is and always was Horatio Bushmills.

I'm a bit tired of writing a history for this character, so let me keep it short: Horatio went into another depression, since he returned to his wife, who did not recognize him and chased him out of her house. All depressed and stuff, Horatio went to America to just roam there a bit. That's what he still does. Now you know.

Powers:
-Liquid: Speaks for itself. He’s as liquid as mercury, but can move and shape itself at will by:

-Telekinesis: Makes Horatio able to make stuff, such as remote controls or rifles float in mid air. He can also shape his ‘body’ with it and it, being liquid, can become any shape. He can also punch stuff with his psychic ability, but he only packs a strength 2 punch.

-Telesenses: Since the Yix-an-iinsalq does not have eyes or a mouth, it communicates by telepathic and psycho-optic means. This means it can select the persons that can hear his words by will. Psycho-optic means that the Yix-an-iinsalq ‘sees’ or senses not only light, but also infra-red, micro-waves, radio-waves, ultra-violet and therefore, the thing we call the ‘aura’. In effect, it causes a crossbreed between echo-location (but psychic), psychic empathy and telepathy. Horatio ‘hears’ by combining sound-waves that hit his body along with other kinds of waves into a multi-layered and more sophisticated version of ‘sound’. This makes him instantly aware of the mood of another person and wither or not they are lying. However, all these different sorts of senses take more time to process and make Horatio slow in thinking.

-All minded: Unlike humans, or most creatures for that matter, Horatio is entirely his body. “What?” Well, let me explain. You, as a human, have control over, for example, your hand. But when your hand is cut off, you can no longer control your hand. Horatio, on the other hand, can split his body in two parts, or even more, or even vapor, and still control all those parts. It lowers his intelligence, though.

-Freezing: The Yix-an-iinsalq liquid is always at -40˚C (though it could be frozen at -90 or vaporized 300˚C), thus freezing substances as water immediately without freezing itself. This also cools the air around it, forming ice crystals on the ground when it moves over it. However, when a vapor, it does no longer possess that capability.

I like it. I say approved. Since you're a mod I think you can make your own PowerGrid. Unless you want someone else to make it.

I think all of Soaps characters should be auto-approved, everything he puts down is amazing, he can make a lizard for a character with a single line of history, gastrointestinal issues and the ability to disintegrate people with his urine and I'd probably approve it just because I know it'd be the most awesome lizard with gastrointestinal issues and the ability to disintegrate people with his urine.
