Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.
Despite these ratings, keep in mind that there is a limit, and you should not cross it just to garner attention. Also, resorting to curse words is also like adding senseless fluff to your posts.

State of my Head (Drifter)
9 hours earlier...
The sun had not yet made it's appearance for the day and two girls stood on the run way waiting to say their good byes.
"Okayyy mom. Okay! Fine. I just don't understand why I have to stay with Uncle Cornelius..." typical teenage drama.
"Because - I have to head out of town in a couple of days and I need you to be somewhere safe. We all know Uncle Cornelius' manor is the second safest place on the planet." Skyler attempted to reason with the teenager.
"But... Ugh. Whatever. Your face says it all." It had been a long few months and the two of them were suffering a bit of a relationship strain.
Skyler had been taking Lilia on less and less adventures. It didn't feel right dragging her to high-risk situations. And this time Skyler was heading back to Atlanta to take care of a few loose ends.
Going in for a hug, she felt Lilia squeeze her a little tighter before turning and heading to get onto the plane. Private jets were always nice. Skyler waved to her Uncle and then turned, shoving her hands into her pockets.
Now that Lilia would be safe, Skyler was able to think a bit more clearly.
At least, until she thought of him.
Her attention shifted and she sighed out loud as she sank down into her car. The once riddled with bullet holes vehicle was now mostly repaired. A proper paint job would have it looking back to it's primal self.
Making the last few turns up her gravel drive way, Skyler pulled into the car port and peeled herself out of the seat. The sky was dreary, rain being a few moments away at best.
"Hm... I might actually take a nap for once..." She said aloud, a chuckle passing afterward. It had been so long since she could just put herself down for rest.
Too long.
Present Tme.
Her nap turned into a full on sleep. It was nearly eight in the evening when the sound of creaking floor boards stirred her from her slumber. Usually she could sleep through foot steps, but her mind easily remembered and processed that Lilia was no longer here, and Aiva cannot physically interact with the floor.
So, it was an intruder.
Rising from her bed, she gently pressed her feet onto the floor, making no noise. She was precise with each and every lithe step. Equipped with the jeans she wore that day, a tank top and short sleeve button down, bare feet, and a messy bun, she made her way to the door and turned the lock then gently whispered for Aiva.
Since Lilia's absence, the hologram assistant had been giving Skyler the cold shoulder, so Skyler sent her into a time-out state where only Skyler's command could let Aiva back out - and boy was Skyler mad at herself for not taking Aiva out of her time out before her nap.
But, as Skyler called for her artificial intelligence assistant, there was no answer. Someone must have unplugged the server - or clipped the main line outside of the house.
Processing her options, Skyler reached into her lingerie drawer and presented a pocket knife. Flipping the blade open, she readied herself for what was to come - a fight.
Unlocking the door, Skyler walked out and carefully made her way to the stairwell and looked down. She listened carefully, counting the number of steps being taken to determine how many people were down there. One two three-one-pause. One two-one-one-three. Three bodies. Their paces were all different. Heavy boots. Smelling the air, Skyler focused on anything new in her house. An odor or just new scent in general.
And she could smell it - gun powder. So, high grade ammunition that was actually detectable.
Fuck... She thought to herself, gripping the knife in one hand.
She needed to separate them - get a one on one fight going. And what better way than pretend she had no idea they were there?
Walking to her bathroom, she made it sound as if she had just woken from her sleep. She could hear the foot steps get softer now, as if they weren't aware she was actually here. She turned on the water in the shower and left the door cracked, but drew the curtain around the shower.
Reaching under the sink in the bathroom, she found an older radio and disassembled it, working quickly. She spliced a few wires and used a third as a makeshift antenna that she wrapped around one of the exposed copper pipes to amplify the signal.
Tuning the radio, she pinked up their voices as they talked, moving through the house.
"So she is here..."
".. sounds like it. Who's going up first?"
"I am."
The voices were distinguishable, but not exactly familiar to Skyler.
Who would want to break into her home and hurt her? Plenty of people - but who would actively be searching for her so thoroughly that they would find her at all?
And just think, she was going to nap and likely call Luke to see if he wanted to grab dinner or something. Now she had to rearrange her entire evening.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
I didn't really know how to start this off. After what happened last time, how do you even describe the feelings going through a person's head? The honest truth is i have no idea, but I'll try my very best.
It was bittersweet in a way. Good, because he was of sound mind once again, mostly, but bad because, well, he would have loved to let go. Have you ever had so much on your mind, so much anxiety and worry, that you just felt like turning your brain off? Sure you could sleep, but when you woke up your harsh reality would still be there, looming over you like the world had decided to rest itself on your shoulders. He was once again shaken and uncertain about who he was and who he had become, broken in a sense. He couldn't escape it on his own; but the feeling he had just days ago, the feeling of freedom, that let him.
But it was bad to be crazy, right? That was just terrible by definition—so he denied he desired it entirely. He had gotten through the pain of depression and mental strain this long, he could keep going, right? All he needed was to clear his mind, to get in his car and drive, go somewhere he knew he would be able to think about one singular thing........
He was headed to Skyler's place. Yes it took quite awhile to get there, considering where he was traveling from, but it's not like he had many places to be. He had been living off his savings for awhile now, not working just because he needed to get his head straight. As soon as he did that, he could go back to living, go back to being himself.....
He pulled down the gravel road that lead to Skyler's home, hoping him just dropping by wasn't an issue. He knew she was some sort of mercenary, and probably had things to do, but so did he. He didn't want to see her, he needed to see her. She had a way of masking his constant existential crisis, most of the time anyway. He felt like he used to when he was around her. Maybe it was selfish, but right now he didn't care about that. It was like being wounded and taking somebody's first aid kit—you didn't exactly care if it was an inconvenience while bleeding out.
After a good long drive down the private road, he reached the house, noticing a few things out of place. One: vehicles he didn't recognize. Two: some lines cut on the electrical polls outside the home. This, this didn't look good. Frankly, he was less worried and more put out. Why did life have to throw a curve ball every fucking time he tried to do something as simple as seeing a woman he liked?
.....You asshats.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
She heard the steps come up the stairs. He took them two at a time. He was eager. Turning the radio over to an old cassette, she turned it up and tucked herself behind the shower curtain. Water hit her, of course, but being in here would give her a one up. He thought he was going to surprise her. She was going to surprise him.
As he walked into the room, she could just barely see him in the mirror as it began to fog up. Dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin. Tall. Rugged. But not handsome. At least, not to her. He had a beard, and he had paint blacked around of his eyes as well as a standard ski-mask.
One... two... three... she counted in her head, breathing in and out gently, her back to the water and her eye peering out to see his shadow cast against the wall. He grabbed the edge of the door and opened it slowly, making sure to make minimal noise.
A classic, Should I Stay or Should I Go by the Clash was playing on the radio. Skyler bobbed her head as she readied her knife. It was smaller in comparison to her usual blade, but it would have to do. She had left the majority of her supplies in the basement.
As the footsteps neared the edge of the claw foot tub, Skyler closed her eyes and waited. As soon as the song picked up in tempo, she turned and jabbed her knife through the curtain and into the man's shoulder.
He cried out in pain, "You BITCH!"
"RICK? Status!" Came a voice over the radio in his ear. Skyler could hear the voice shout from downstairs, though, so now she knew his name.
"Idiot! Don't use names!" the other shouted. It was too late though.
Skyler twisted the blade and felt a knife plunge into her thigh. It was much bigger than her little knife.
Smashing her head into Rick's, she shoved him off of her and knocked him back into the door, forcing it to shut. The shower curtain went with him.
Peeling the knife out of her thigh, she put it into her other hand and smirked as her wound already healed.
"Whoever sent you really wants you to die." She said, her confidence rising as she stood over him, the larger knife in her grip.
She flipped it over in her hand a few times and then threw it, it grazing the top of his head and piercing the door.
"You... fucking... bitch. You have no idea who I am, do you?" He said, narrowing his eyes as she tried to grab for a gun on his ankle.
Skyler stepped on his hand and then felt her weight get yanked out from under her. He had tricked her into going for his hand to actually flip her onto her back. Laying there for a few moments, her head having bashed into the bath tub, she was dazed. Her brain practically scrambled for a few moments. Disoriented, she felt cuffs around her wrists and ankles, and then everything started to move.
She was literally dragged down the stairs and thrown onto the floor in the living room.
Little did she know, Lukas had just came up to the front of her house.
"Jesus. Aren't you three just a fuckin' cliche and a half." She said, looking them all over as she used her bound feet to push herself up to lean against the recliner in her living room.
"... We got her. I expect payment to be doubled. I was told this would be a piece of cake. But no, I'm over here bleeding from a knife wound, and these idiots did NOTHING." Rick shouted at his other two goons.
"HEY! You said you had it!" Muttered one that was a bit shorter than the other two.
The third one was definitely the odd-man out. He had no need for a mask - his skin was made up of a sort of reptile like texture.
"Dumbasses.." Reptilian like eyes blinked a few times as he stepped over toward Skyler and grabbed her by the hair on her head, pulling her up.
"I say we kill her anyway. It would be fun." A forked tongue flicked out and touched Skyler on the nose, sending chills down her spine.
"No. The boss wants her alive."
As an argument erupted, Skyler listened on, plotting the way out. Even if it meant severing her own hand to get out of these cuffs.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
There was a commotion in the house—that much was certain. What wasn't was if they had realized Lukas was there. Nobody had come running out, so it seemed that if they had noticed him they weren't making any moves. Drifter immediately opened his trunk and grabbed some of his weapons, which included his gauntlets and grenade collection. After that, he moved toward the side of the house. He didn't want to risk going through the front door because the intruders could have been watching it. He decided to go through a floor level window instead.
It wasn't hard to do, physically anyway. The tricky part was being silent. Luckily Drifter didn't have to carry around bulky equipment because most of the stuff he had on him was contained in his gauntlets. He slipped in, slick as a snake, then quickly stood up.
He found himself in the kitchen, and heard talking in the other room along with the sound of radios. Why they hadn't decided to upgrade to more stealthy means, like maybe an earpiece, was beyond Lukas. Regardless, taking those out was on his to do list.
Normally i would have put his thoughts here, but the fact is he was barely thinking at all. He knew Skyler was in there, along with three male intruders, so by reflex he decided to split them up. One would have to stay with her after all....... He fired off his wrist EMP, then got to work.
He removed a capsule from his belt, which was compressed, and poured the powdered contents gently in a line in front of the kitchen doorway. It was acetone peroxide, a highly sensitive explosive used for blasting caps. It would explode if even a merger amount of weight was put on it.
Granted, this wouldn't blow their legs off or anything. It was a relatively minor combustion. The substance was there merely to cause pain and confusion, and of course to make things fun. He couldn't just shoot them, you see. He wanted to get his hands dirty today.
He expected one, possibly two, to come for him. He readied a large machete-like knife, hid behind a stove that provided great cover from the entryway, then fired a bullet from his gauntlet into the wall. He was hoping the sound would pull his friends into the kitchen.
If they did make a move, the first and possibly only intruder in would set off the makeshift mine at the entryway merely from the friction of his boots. It would definitely hurt and shock, and when it did Drifter would spring into action.
He would leave his cover; charging at the first man with his knife as he fired a stream of rounds at any other that decided to tag along. Once he got close, he would simply swipe downward with the blade. His aim was to stick it in the guy's head while he was still dazed.
If another had come along, reacting fast enough to avoid being shot by the first stream of rounds, Drifter would actively seek him out and continue firing at point blank range.
"You better fucking hope you die quickly! I swear to god if any of you are still breathing by the end of this, you'll get a peek at my creative side!" Drifter yelled, essentially not caring about being stealthy anymore.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Feeling her hair being ripped from her scalp, she leaned up into the grip of the reptilian man. She was already regretting cutting her hair off to the length it was now, so she really did not want to lose any more of it. At least, not like this.
The pain was actually mind numbing.
Clenching her jaw tight, she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing, focused on the smells in the room. She was listening to their heart beats, focusing in on the thump, thump, thumps. Three of them. Wait. Four of them. Four?
Opening her eyes, she had shifted onto her knees now, hoisting herself up to ensure her hair wasn't ripped out of her head.
"You're all fucked." she said, the sudden, familiar smell filling her sense of smell. It was hard for her to forget it... him.
It was hard to forget him.
Smirking, the argument was split up as a distraction came from the kitchen.
"Well, go you idiot." Rick indicated for the shorter of the two others to head into the kitchen to investigate.
The Reptilian flicked his tongue out a few times before a look of shock erupted over his face.
"Wait!" But it was too late.
"I've got thi-- OOMPF!" A grunt escaped the male as he was tossed off balance and bashed his head into the wall. The sudden minor explosion beneath his feet was enough to harm him. It made his ears ring, the loud noise completely disorienting him before his head even bounced off the wall.
The sudden machete found it's way into his forehead, digging vertically through his head gear and into his flesh. A cry of pain escaped him as he reacted with bullets raining from his rifle. But the simple jerk reaction died down as he fell to his knees then face forward onto the floor.
One down. Two to go.
Skyler felt her body shift as she was yanked by her hair to her feet. She felt her back press against the Reptilian's front as a cold blade pressed against her throat. She had never been decapitated before, but part of her knew she could survive. At least, she hoped so.
Part of her wondered if her body and head could be reattached if she lost it.
Thinking it over, her good eye was fixed upon Lukas as she formulated a plan.
It was Rick that she needed out of the way. IF he was preoccupied, she could handle this freak. At least, maybe she could.
As soon as Rick's comrade fell prey to death, the man brought his weapon up and started to shoot at Lukas, matching fire with the bullets coming his way.
"I'll show you who you fuckin' think you are, bucko." Anger rose as the mercenary came forward, his finger just laying into the trigger as she sprayed the kitchen down with bullets.
Skyler had her moment to free herself, but it would only work once. Quickly pushing her arms up, and all of her weight back onto the Reptilian all at once, she found her bound wrists sliding to meet with the blade. The knife cut deep into the tape binding her together, but it also cut her pretty badly.
Bleeding profusely, it drove the Reptile mad as his tongue started to flick and lick at the air. It happened so quickly that Skyler was able to grab the knife and jam it right into his left eye socket.
A temporary pain, but a big one nonetheless.
Using her hands, she yanked the Reptilian's head down and used her knee to press into the knife's handle, further jamming it into his brain. Another instant kill.
Two down, one to go.
One down. Two to go.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Well, that was easy. The first man to come Drifter's way found a machete jammed into the top of his head. Nobody else was fooled by the trap, but a second man, who started firing off some rounds in Lukas' direction, did come eventually.
Drifter was glad he put some of his body armor on. A bullet caught his shoulder before he could react, so he acted as if he had been wounded. He fell from the doorway to behind the cover of a wall, hoping the man would come in to finish him off. Thankfully, he did.
Instead of seeing a dead man though, the intruder would get a wicked fast kick launched at the side of his knee. The objective here was to cause as much damage to the leg as possible, and perhaps delay the firing of the man's weapon.
The next movement of Drifter's legs was meant to capitalize on the lack of balance the man had. It was a swift scissor sweep, which threw the guy onto his back. As Lukas did this, he held his gauntlets in front of his face to shield from a few stray rounds the assassin instinctively fired.
Once the man hit the ground, Drifter fired a stream of taser darts from his second gauntlet at the downed intruder. This effectively rendered the man immobile and convulsing.
Drifter got up, pulling the bullet that hit him from his vest.
".........Looks like you're about to take a nap. Well how about a bed time story? Hm? You like those right?" Drifter said with a smile as he disarmed the last surviving assailant. Drifter then stood over him, boots placed firmly on either side of the body as he stared down at the man.
"There was once a man that wanted nothing more then to relax. He'd been having a rough few days, you see. He had decided to go see somebody that was quite special to him; somebody that made him feel good. It's better then drinking, right? Well unfortunately, when he got to her some big bad assassins were there too. They had her all tied up, and that made the man very angry. So you know what our hero did? He killed them all....... Well, all but one. Him he tortured. Great fucking story, right?" Drifter said. He then proceeded to hit the man repeatedly in the temple with the butt of his own gun. Lukas was obviously angry; his face red as he continued to brutalize the man beneath him. Soon, the continued bashing caused a lot of blood to leak from the man's face.
"I can't hear you! GREAT FUCKING STORY, RIGHT!"

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Skyler had thought that her opponent was down and out, but it seems that she was wrong. The wound she had done only pissed him off even more.
Grabbing her by the hair, she was wrenched up off of her feet and dangled there, pain shooting down her body.
She let out a terrifying scream before reacting the way that she knew would be the most effective.
Taking the knife out of his eye socket, she wrenched it up and around, slicing through her hair just under the Reptilians hand - this was only a few short inches above her head. Chopping the longer locks off, she removed a good seventeen inches of hair.
The flashbacks of this same moment came back to her. She was being held by the hair, and the only way to save Lilia was to sacrifice the length of her gorgeous locks.
And now? She had to do it again.
Once free, she brandished the knife, holding it in a backwards fashion - the blade curving out perpendicular to her arm.
Her movements were so quick, it was hard for the Reptilian to realize what happened until Skyler was standing back on her feet, and the knife had already severed his head from his neck.
She finished pushing the knife between his third and fourth cerebral vertebrae and then kicked her foot into his solar plexus, forcing his headless corpse to fall to the ground.
The body's hand fell limp, a shower of her gorgeous silver hair cascading around the living room floor.
Skyler's fight drew her attention from Lukas, but when she looked back to him, she saw him beating the man's face in. She walked across the living room to the kitchen and pulled the chain off of the ceiling that held up her pots and pans.
A bunch of clanging and crashing happened as she removed each pan, a trail of kitchen ware behind of her as she walked.
She approached Lukas and then offered him the chain.
"Here, baby." She cooed, coming up to his side, her face and the front of her shirt stained red from the Reptilian's blood.
She wanted to see this man in pain - especially for invading her home, her sanctuary.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
I would say Drifter was surprised by Skyler's words, but really he was too high on adrenaline to notice it as something shocking. He only paused his barrage of the guy's head to instinctively take the chain from Skyler, who was covered in blood. He smiled and reached for her newly cut locks.
"I think it suits you." He said as he ran his hand through her trimmed hair. Out of both the heat of the moment and the fact he had wished to see her for days, he leaned forward and attempted to kiss her. Make out might be a better term actually. He would hold her head and embrace her, then turn back to the mortified and likely creeped out man on the ground.
"Oh yeah, this will do quite nicely." He said, lowering himself then roughly wrapping and twisting the chain around the man's neck and hands. The intruder gasped and gargled, but this was just the start. He would allow Skyler to get whatever revenge on him she wanted as he cut the man's ear way off then released him several times, nearly killing him in each instance. After the couple had their fun though, it would be time for the grand finale.
Drifter dragged the man out the front door by the chain. He was heavy sure, but with his blood pumping Lukas was doing a fine job. Eventually, the struggling man was hooked up to a car pumper by the long chain. Drifter would exhale from the effort of it all as he leaned on his knees before standing back up with what could only be described as a short giggle.
"I wonder what thoughts are going through your head right now...... Probably the usual stuff. Maybe you're still in panic mode, hoping to get away. Or maybe, just maybe, you've accepted it. Maybe you've come to the conclusion these breaths will be some of your last. Maybe you now know, all those years that shaped you as your own unique and individual person have lead to this one anticlimactic moment in which you're brutally tugged down a gravel road by a sports car............... Did you ever think that's what would end you when you were a kid, just hanging out on the jungle gym sometime in the 90s? No? Well i bet you wish you had. Maybe you could have changed things." Lukas said from above him just before walking to his car and getting in.
He burned out like a dragster, going from 0 to 60 in what seemed like an instant. The man would exclaim in all kinds of pain and misery as rocks were embedded into his body, but it seemed to be music to Drifter's ears. Lukas drove violently and chaotically on purpose, twirling and speeding down the road to inflict as much damage as possible. An arm even fell off at some point, or maybe it was a leg. Drifter continued to drive and yell in glee however, seemingly detached from the fact he was murdering someone at this very moment.
Flesh would be ripped off, bones broken, and a man would be dead by the end. All that was left after the five minute drive was a mangled bloody mess. The car had stopped, and nobody had gotten out.
Drifter was slumped over the steering wheel, clearly alive but not showing his face or moving at all.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Their exchange was sweet, and when it was over, Skyler made sure to get whatever she could out of this man before Lukas completely destroyed him entirely.
Kneeling down as Lukas started to choke the life out of him, she leaned down so that she was eye level with Rick's bloodied face. He could only see out of one eye, and she found this oh so ironic, seeing as she was his target.
"So, I doubt you can speak, but I'm going to go ahead and guess who hired you... was it... a rich man that heard of an ex-agent of Dominus that, may or may not, be the key to life eternal? Oh? Blink once for yes, two for no." She said, reaching to search his body for any kind of phone, device, or anything she could use to trace back to the main source.
She would pocket the device as Rick whimpered, gasping for breath each time the chain was loosened from his neck.
Skyler took the device, completely focused. She didn't care what Luke did at this point. She just wanted answers.
Grabbing for her laptop, she powered it up and realized the battery was dead. She groaned and grabbed her tool box from under the sink, kicking pots and pans out of the way to get to it, and then went out to the electric box and patched the severed wires.
The lights inside the house flickered back on, and a smile was actually over her face. She came back in through the back door, having left the tool box outside. She was in too much of a hurry to find out who was after her.
Typing a few things into the computer, then grabbing a cable and plugging it into the phone, she connected it to her laptop and spoke one word:
"Aiva." The holographic assistant was weakened by her power supply having been shut off, but without the sassy girl, the program still worked. Running diagnostics, then a tracing software, Skyler found out who was after her the moment Luke pulled back up to the house.
A one Franklin Guidaboni. Who was he? And why was he relevant at all?
Narrowing her eyes, she shut the laptop and stood up, walked into the kitchen, and brewed a pot of coffee. This gave Luke a good four minutes to sit by himself in the car. She made herself a mug with cream and sugar, and carried a mug of straight black out to the car and stood by the window for a few moments before setting the cups on the roof and opening the door.
"Hey," she said, grabbing both cups again and waving the coffee near him.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Coffee. Coffee after murder. I mean, that's pretty awesome, but normally that isn't a thing. Luckily for Skyler, it was probably the single best thing she could have given Drifter at that moment.
He looked to her, his eyes bloodshot. He didn't look like he had been crying, but he did look like he was coming down from a drug overdose. He apparently needed a breather after releasing so much energy and anger. His demeanor was a complete 180 from what it was moments ago. He spoke very clearly and calmly, a smile on his face that contrasted the dark rings around his eyes.
"Thank you....... You're very sweet." Lukas said, sighing before getting out of the car. His face had turned back to it's normal pale white from the deep red it had previously been in. The difference between him now and then was incredibly striking.
"So who are these guys? Do you even know?" Drifter asked, taking a long drink of his coffee as he peaked over the mug at the mangled body that was pretty much all over the road.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Sipping her own coffee, she shrugged a bit,
"Don't mention it. I use to drink hot cocoa when I was taking out a contract." She smiled toward him and stepped out of the way so that he could get out of the car.
Moving to look at the mess on the gravel path, she made a note to get out the spare gloves to have him help clean up the mess. It would be time he finally saw her basement...
Sighing a bit, she took another sip and looked toward the house.
"Apparently, some man named Franklin Guidaboni hired these men. Also, thanks for being here... I have no idea what I'd do if you weren't." She moved a hand up to brush a bit of her hair out of her face and then the sudden gravity of the whole situation landed on top of Skyler.
She dropped her cup, the coffee spilling and the mug breaking. It was her favorite mug, too.
"My.. fucking.. HAIR." she put both of her hands into it and started tugging at it, pain racing over her face.
"RAHH! That fucking bastard!" Screeching, she picked up her broken mug and walked - no - stomped back toward her house and ripped open the front door. She walked into the living room and looked at the mess. The rug was now trash.. but worst of all, her gorgeous silver hair was strewn all over the place.
What would she do now!?
And, really, of all the things to worry about...
Skyler was upset about her hair.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
The reaction toward her hair was a little, well, over the top. She seemed to have not noticed until now, which wasn't surprising considering Lukas himself was on cloud nine from the after effects of this situation and the emotions it inflicted. But that didn't explain why she was so worried about her hair. Drifter couldn't help but chuckle a little after she stormed into the house.
He went after her. She moved quickly when she was angry it seemed, as he was left in the dust in mere moments. She was looking at her chopped locks in the mirror, completely horrified judging from the look on her face. Oh dear.
"Hey..... Don't feel too bad; you should have seen the cut they gave me at Great Clips one time." Drifter said with a little laugh, half trying to put a smile back on her face and half just teasing her. He stepped over the bodies and made his way behind Skyler, looking at her in the mirror.
"........Did i ever tell you i think short hair is ridiculously hot on the right ladies? I think you might be one of them." Drifter said as he rested his head on her shoulder, giving the side of her neck a quick kiss as he continued to look at her in the mirror. He wasn't trying to make her feel better either, he thought it showcased attitude and the femininity of the face better then a mop of locks ever could.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
The mirror on the wall was crooked, her tiff with the Reptilian having knocked it sideways, but even still, she hated this hair.
She almost felt like crying and reached up to touch it, gingerly this time. She then felt Lukas come behind her, his face coming into the mirror next to her. She drifted her left eye to him, her right eye a cloudy transfixed orb. Tears were welling in her eyes and his comment made her snicker lightly.
She feigned from him, her head turning so she didn't have to look at herself anymore and just sighed.
"As flattering as that is, it looks like shit right now. I've got some acids in the basement. Let's go clean up this mess..." She offered a peck to his cheek in thanks, despite her negative views on her hair, and walked toward the hall and down toward the bathroom. Just before it was a bookshelf. She slid a few items around and then book shelf swung open, revealing a stairwell.
"This is probably the first time I've ever let you come down here..." she said, taking the steps down into a split level basement that was easily larger than the first floor of her home.
An easy 800 square foot space with generators, work stations, dismembered robotic looking pieces, and just a bunch of gadgets and gizmos galore.
Skyler walked, stepping over her mess on the floor, and grabbed a plastic bucket and a few big jugs of the acid of choice.
"Don't touch anything.. My chaos is how I remember where I left off." she said, her back to Lukas as she dug through a box to find two pairs of industrial gloves. She tossed a pair to Lukas and picked up the plastic bucket, which was easily fifty gallons, and headed for the stairs.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Lukas' comments didn't seem to change Skyler's mind about her hair, though she did seem more relaxed afterwards. That was a good thing when you were talking about somebody like Skyler.
Soon he would be lead down to the secret basement, which was cluttered but still quite impressive. Drifter's work area was basically a bench so he had no room to judge. That said, things out of place drove him nuts.
He caught the gloves, slipping them on as he looked around the room. There were gadgets and all kinds of little important things strung about. He had no idea how she kept track of anything down there. She did say the choas reminded her, which made zero sense to Lukas. But to each their own.
The biggest project seemed to be some exosuit looking things, all feminine in appearance. Why would somebody who moved as fast as Skyler want to hamper herself with armor? And she could heal!
"What are those for? They don't seem like your style really." Drifter said, picking up some acid and following Skyler. If he knew he would have to clean, he would have probably just shot the guy in the head.

Re: State of my Head (Drifter)
Skyler was lugging the tub with a bit of effort when Lukas distracted her and she almost stepped on a live landmine laying on the floor.
Using her foot, she carefully slid it aside and sat the tub down then dismantled the landmine.
"I wondered where this thing went... Huh." The red light indicating it was live was no longer active, and she tossed the mine onto a work bench with a pile of other mines that were also deactivated.
She then looked over to the prototypes for Aiva's body.
"Oh those? They're for m--" being cut off, Skyler noticed Aiva pop into view.
"They're for me, silly." The hologram appeared in a pixelated formation of one's and zero's. She flickered in and out of view for a few moments before walking over to the latest model and phasing into it. The machine started to whir and click and then the robot came to life.
"Whoa. Mama. This one is much better than the last. I think it--"
"NO! Get out of it. It's not finished. And I don't have time to babysit your code to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Don't make me ground you again..." Skyler went over to a computer panel and started typing rapidly, her words spewing as she typed.
The robot then shut down and Aiva's hologram was spit back out.
Laying on the floor in a mess of long holographic hair, Aiva looked up to Skyler with pain in her eyes - if that were even possible.
"... Fine." Disappearing in a fizzle of 1's and 0's, Aiva was gone.
Sighing, Skyler grabbed the tub and pointed for the stairs.
"Just go, please. Let's get this over with... I really don't want to clean, but I'd rather not leave body parts on my driveway and in my living room." She said, sighing again. Tonight had been a long night.
She really wanted to just take a long, hot bath and relax with her boyfriend.
Whoa... she thought.
My... boyfriend.
Blinking, she started up the stairs, making sure Lukas was following her to help with the mess.
