Sexual Content 2: Sexual content is permitted. References and writing about genitalia and sex acts are permitted, but explicit detail is not. Fade to black, or use the dotdotdot rule. (Let's keep it PG-13.)
Violence 2: Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or in-game narration violence is allowed.

Andrew counted to himself spinning and crashing his elbow into the chest of one of the gang members he had been hunting down.

He hit the next one with a roundhouse kick, doing a double back flip he landed and pulled his staff off his back.
He spun it around and hit the last two members over the head.

As the police moved in to the make their arrest Andrew was thanked by New York's finest.
"You guys are the real heroes." Andrew spoke with a smile giving a thumbs up.
It had been a few weeks since Andrew's return to the big apple. The media seemed to want coverage of all his moves.
"Oh no my biggest fan" he sighed before walking towards the reporter.
Anna Moran was her name and it seemed every site The Phoenix arrived on she was quick to follow.
"What can I do for you Ms.Moran?" Andrew spoke to the young lady, in a semi-sarcastic tone.
"Nothing much handsome, just answer a few questions once the cameras roll."
"I don't really want all this publici-"
"Hello New York, this is Anna Moran coming to you live with none other than The Phoenix"
People surrounding the duo cheered as she exclaimed his name.
"We got the ok from our city's hero to ask a few questions. Isn't that right?"
Andrew just smiled and nodded.
"Way to put me on the spot Anna. I owe you one." he thought to himself.
"So can you tell us who was the gang you took down today was?"
"They're called the Knights of The Seven and soon like these men, their leaders will be behind bars."
The crowd cheered some more.
"Can our city rest now knowing it has it's savior back?"
"Well I wouldn't cal myself the savior of New York ma'am, but I certainly can assure you all when there's trouble I'll be there to keep you all safe."
"One last question before we wrap this up...The Talons...will they be returning?"
"I think it's important you all know that Talons are heroes in their own right. I have no official statement of the group reforming but I certainly wish to be working with all my old teammates again soon."
"There you all have it ladies and gentlemen, the hero of new york!"
She wrapped around Phoenix and put her hand on his chest.
"I know I feel better with you back around. we all should! This is Anna Moran...she kissed his cheek... signing out."
As the cameras cut she turned to Phoenix and rubbed her hand on his shoulder.
"See that wasn't so bad!" she giggled.
"Look Anna there's a lot of people who work hard to keep this city safe please stop calling me the hero or savior of the city."
Andrew felt a familiar presence behind him.
Unwrapping herself from the hero she smiled.
"Looks like you've got company." Anna spoke before walking off.
"If she wasn't so annoying she'd be beautiful." Andrew thought to himself.
As he turned his jaw dropped.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
Resting her hand against her forehead, she sighed, a few tears welling in her eyes. Tyuki Gold, the big strong heroin of the world, was crying. Reason being? She had just received a call from John about his college life. He wasn't going to be able to make it - again - to their rendezvous weekend. She was crying because this was the forth time she was blown off in a row. And it seemed like John didn't even want to try any more. Tyuki couldn't blame him. She was gone all the time, and his life was just as important, she guessed.
She sobbed a few times before grabbing for the remote and flipping through the channels. She stopped on the news, seeing as a familiar costume caught her eye. It was Andrew. He had been on the television a lot lately. Tyuki's band was finally on a miniature break, pending their return. Tyuki had to beat the devil in a guitar battle, and she had yet to talk to her Aunt Chelle about it. Maybe she could just call her.
Shrugging off the thoughts, and wiping away her tears, she sighed softly and felt a smile tug her lips. Even in sorrow, he always had this stupid way of making her smile.
Peeling herself from the posh couch, she slipped into her costume and took off out the window, it blowing shut behind of her.
--
She soared through the skies, her pace quickening as she pumped her wings. The slender tuxedo mask over her eyes gave the illusion she was a mysterious woman. But, as soon as she popped up in front of Andrew, or even the crowd around the bank, she knew she'd be recognized as none other than Eclipse.
And she was right.
She landed and the crowd whooped. Her white wings folded behind of her and she flicked a bit of her hair behind of her shoulder.
"So, just because you can handle it alone doesn't mean you can't call me." She said, smirking as Andrew turned to face her.
The news reporter, Anna Moran, as she walked off, turned to her cameraman and insisted he record some of this for later use.
"I'll call it 'Return of the Super Couple: Eclipse and Phoenix!' So, hit that record button, Frank!" Anna instructed, hissing as she angled her microphone to listen in on whatever Tyuki and Andrew would talk about.

"T-Elipse...What are you doing here?"
Andrew's bone's shook when he heard Anna say super couple.
Andrew felt his core rattle, how could she do this to him here?
Did she not remember the way he looked the last time they met.
"No one more important to attend to?" Andrew asked as a tear fell from his face.
"I know all about him. I know all about everything. You left something out 2 weeks ago, and you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about."
"Hold it together Andrew. Keep it calm. "
"I doubt you even care enough to know what I'm talking about."
The crowd of people were staring and Andrew could see Anna's face growing a frown. Everyone looked genuinely sad to see the hero upset.
"Look can we talk somewhere else?" he spoke softly
"It wasn't fair for me to explode like that but I have a lot on my mind right now. You look like you have a lot on yours too. Even when you smiled at me earlier I saw pain. Let's talk on that building above us."
Andrew leaped up and landed on top the skyscraper.
"I hope you know what you're getting yourself into Pettiglio."

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
A look of pure confusion took over Tyuki's face. She was lost for words when Andrew looked at her the way he did.
It wasn't disgust. It was just pure disappointment. Or was it something else? She felt her heart almost break into two pieces when he went on about. It wasn't until he mentioned two weeks ago and leaving something out.
She felt a look of pure horror cross over her face now, and she literally felt her heart skip a beat. She became more pale, if possible, and her gorgeous green eyes got wide.
Tyuki could feel the crowd shift from joy and happiness to awkward and disappointed. She sighed and opened her mouth a few times to talk, but nothing came out. She looked up to Andrew's eyes, giving him a soft expression. Her sight shifted, however, noticing the camera recording this situation.
Andrew insisted they take it elsewhere, and Tyuki agreed.
"Just, one moment." She said, gliding passed where Andrew had been previously standing. She grabbed the camera, the man attempting to put up a fight. Her strength over powered him easily.
She carefully took out the chip that held the data and crushed it in her palm, letting it fall as dust to the ground.
"We may be super, but our private lives matter, too." She said, eyeing the news reporter with disdain.
Tyuki's wings then sprung open, the crowd gasping as they backed up. She took off, shooting up into the sky after Andrew.
She thought over what she was going to say on her way up, but she came to the conclusion she had no idea what to say.
"Look..." She started, sighing softly. Her wings ruffled in annoyance with herself. She had no idea where to start.
"Yeah. Okay. I'm an idiot. I thought you were dead, Andrew. DO you know how many nights I woke up screaming, tears running down my face, and my heart feeling like it was trying to jump out of my chest?" She said, tearing her mask off of her face and throwing it down onto the roof. She was so angry, and the force she had behind the throw actually made the mask cause a small set of cracks to sprawl out on the rooftop.
Damn, Tyuki was strong.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
"DO I KNOW HOW MANY NIGHTS YOU WOKE UP SCREAMING?"
Andrew yelled back.
He tore the mask off his face as well.
"Do you see the pain in these eyes Tyuki?"
"Do you understand for six years I fought things that would make you shiver just to see you smile one more time?"
Andrew was crying and he didn't even know.
"For God's sake Tyuki my name is The Phoenix and for Six and a half years I've felt nothing but COLD."
"Do you know what it's like to wake up every day hoping to make it to another just in case the next one had you in it?"
Andrew had streams instead of tears.
"While you were playing house with John I was fighting for my life. Kissing you last week was the first time I felt the warmth of anything besides fire trying to roast me alive and believe me that isn't as embracing as you are."
He let fire surround him leaving him shirtless.
His back was filled with scars, and he pointed to the dragon claws.
"All I had to do was get back here. I knew time would pass differently, but I didn't know two years for you would. Six for me."
Andrew looked at Tyuki.
"Something isn't right with you. I can see it in your eyes and it isn't me pouring my heart to you. Don't even try to lie to me because I know your eyes, I saw them every night for six years. I got to talk so do you."
Andrew sat down.
"I'm sorry for yelling." he spoke wiping away tears.
Andrew yelled back.
He tore the mask off his face as well.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
The mask being removed from Andrew's face revealed more than she had seen before. She saw everything. She felt his emotions, and as he yelled, she felt her excuses feel so dismal and weak in comparison.
She knew, in her heart, she had failed him. She had failed herself. She had given up on their love.
She stood there, her fists clenched until the seams of her costume tried to rip apart. She was having a hard time keeping her cool. She wanted to just fly off and get out of here. But, she also couldn't move. She was glued there. Stuck in fear that she was the reason he was like this. Was it really her fault? Was it? It was.
She knew it was.
Her face was of stone, frozen with a small, sour frown. She had tears welling in her eyes, and a few streaming her cheeks. She was, surprisingly held together right now. She wanted nothing more than to be brave for him. It was the least she could do right now.
"I.. " She still had no idea what to say to him.
So, she just waited until he was done. Truly done.
She listened and then he hit her right in her heart with his next words. He could see she was going through something as well. But it was no where near as horrible as his life had been.
"It's...."
"...Okay..." She started, her voice wavering as she swallowed.
"John and I haven't seen each other in almost three months." she said, her voice small. She felt small. She felt so insignificant at this moment in time. Her troubles really were not that big of a deal.
She sank down, her knees pressing into the roof top and her hands fell limp in her lap.
"I.. was... alone. And... my cowardice is what... I fell prey to." She spoke soft now, tears streaming her face. She did not sob, no. She did not yell. She just cried and spoke softly, her gaze staring down at Andrew's feet, afraid to look him in the eye.

"Look. I can't blame you for thinking I was dead. Sometimes I wished I was. Right now I kinda wish I were. I just don't know for the life of me. Why someone I used to call a teammate? I looked out for his life. I always knew he was a snake."
Andrew took Tyuki's hand. "I can see it. You feel alone. Beautiful, those three months have clearly upset you. It's not Forcewa-John. It's the abandonment isn't it? You can't stand being alone, can you? I don't blame you."
"Where I was nightmares didn't wait for dreams, I can't believe I actually expected my life to be normal when I got back here. but seeing you. Face to face, the REAL you. Hun you aren't happy."
Andrew touched Tyuki's face.
"I need to ask you something and I need you to answer me honestly no matter how hard or difficult it might be. You can cripple a building with a mask you can do this. But can you look me in the eye?"
Time stood still almost. Nothing else mattered.
"Do you still love me? All I need is a yes or a no."

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
She was trembling. Her whole body was shuddering as tears raced down her face. She had no idea what to say. Her heart ached, and she felt like her whole world was crashing around of her.
Even if it was right in front of her.
She felt his touch against her cheek. Turning her head, she let his hand press fully against her flesh. As she tilted her head, she let her eyes lift from the ground to look up into Andrew's eyes.
Sorrow filled her.
A shaky breath drew out her words.
"How could I not love you?"
Wind whipped up around of them as a large gust came roaring in. A storm had been brewing overhead, and the two heroes were so lost in their current situation that they had missed it.
Thunder roared and lightning streaked the sky. It wasn't too far off. Rain was coming.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
The storm came from nowhere, but then again, don't they all?
He didn't even mind the rain. It felt refreshing. It was almost as if the universe was sending a shower to wash away his pain. Either that or it was sending a sign that he would be reunited with misfortune once more.
"So.. you... still love me? Even with John? The way you two looked in those pictures? Was he just a place holder? How do I know you really do?"
The raindrops may have been small but they were crashing all around them. No thunder or lightning. Just heavy rain. Andrew surrounded his body with fire once more to make his shirt reappear.
Andrew held Tyuki's face the entire time she answered, as soon as she was finished, he leaned in and if she were to lean in as well he would kiss her with the passion of 10,000 Phoenix's.
"I love you so much. Tyuki Gold. You truly don't know what you mean to me."
He didn't even mind the rain. It felt refreshing. It was almost as if the universe was sending a shower to wash away his pain. Either that or it was sending a sign that he would be reunited with misfortune once more.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
"Forever and always, remember?" She said, her sobs easing up as the skies ripped open and poured down around of them. Her wings rose up like an umbrella around of them, keeping them mostly dry. The rain rolled off of her feathers and collected around of them on the gravel laden rooftop.
"Even with John. Without him, with him. It doesn't matter. First love is all that matters." She fell into him like it was meant to be.
Her lips crashed to his, and her arms wrapped around of his neck.
Once their embrace was over, she just looked into his eyes and sighed.
"Am I a floozy now?" She asked, feeling quite ashamed of herself.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
As the most powerful kiss he ever imagined had occurred, he slipped back and looked her in the eye. He hugged her tight. Like if he were to let go he would vanish once more.
He kissed her once more.
"I'm never going anywhere again Tyuki. I'm going to keep this world safe. I'm going to keep you safe. You make me stronger."
As the rain fell harder Andrew finally felt a sensation, one he hadn't felt in nearly 10 years. It was warmth.
He couldn't contain himself.
Taking a step back he shouted the heavens and blasted his new golden and white fire into the air.
"After six long years." he started to let a few tears out.
"After six long years I finally finished that mission."
"Tyuki. I never want to be away from you again."
He melted back into her.
"Thank you for keeping me alive through all those nightmares."
He had never felt so relaxed in his life.
The years of sleepless nights, and anger, and pain had caught him.
"I think I'll rest for a minute." he spoke as his head collapsed upon her lap and for the first time, a genuine smile grew across his face.
"Tyuki." he said before he drifted off to sleep.
It wouldn't be a long sleep.
He just hoped she would wait for him to awake.
He felt her hand rubbing his face just before he crossed over into the dream world.
"How lucky am I?"
He kissed her once more.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
She held onto him tight, too, as if letting him go would wake her up from this dreamland. She had drifted to a whole new plane of existence - or so it felt.
Humming softly, she nodded.
"Thank you for coming back to me.." She said, offering him a smile.
Still leaning down, her wings relaxed a bit, ruffling to shake some more water from them. The rain had even started to ease up to just a light drizzle at this point in time. Something was going on. But, nothing dangerous. Nothing hectic.
It was just something calm. Something... right.
Allowing him to rest in her arms, she held onto him and just watched over him, her hand gently brushing a bit of his hair behind of his ear.
"Dream of me," She whispered, watching sleep take him...
She sat there for at least fifteen solid minutes before realizing it wouldn't be the best thing to do, seeing as the sky had started to get angry again.
Gently shifting him into her arms, she lifted him up. It had been a while since she had picked him up like this. Late nights playing video games back when they were first together, and even when he over exerted himself too much during fights. She gladly held him now, the thought of John Capore being the last worry on her mind.
Her right arm supported Andrew's weight fully, holding him as she grabbed her mask, and his as well. She slipped her mask on, and then placed his back onto his face.
Her wings stretched, and now with both arms around him, she took off toward her apartment.
She hoped Nathaniel wasn't there.
--
Sighing, Nathaniel stood in front of the fridge, scratching his left buttocks with a cigarette hanging loosely between his lips. He was shirtless, of course, his hair disheveled. He heard a call from his bedroom - a girl he had brought home for the night before. She was still here. Cringing, he made his way back to his room and told her she had to scram.
She was pissed off now, and cursed the whole way out of the apartment. Once he shut the door behind of her, he turned around, noticing Tyuki on the balcony, a very large man in her arms.
"Uhm. Ty. Please tell me you're not bringing him here as a pet?" Nathaniel, even if he was suppose to be a grandfather-ish figure, was more like a bigger brother.
--
Tyuki stood there, holding Andrew in her grasp. She just kind of eyed Nate's attire and coughed.
"It's complicated... But. You know this guy." She said, crossing the short distance to the couch and leaving Andrew there, propping his head on a pillow. Tyuki's wings vanished in a puff of glittery energy, and the door's closed behind of her with a wave of Nate's hand.
"Look. Kiddo. As I'm all for your boyfriend, John or whatever, he's kind of a douche. He hasn't been around here, for what, like four months?" Nate commented, a lighter being produced. He struggled with it, trying to light his cigarette.
Annoyed, Nate sighed.
"This.. isn't John." She said, a blush curling over her face as she took off her mask.[/color]

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
Rising slowly to his feet, Andrew looked at Nate remembering who he was. Fire danced across his face as his mask disappeared.
"She's right, I'm not John." he spoke, although due to his build it was apparent he wasn't.
"I'm Andrew Pettiglio. The Phoenix. About two and a half years ago I kinda...vanished in an explosion above this city."
Not realizing where he was he quickly asked.
"Wait we are still in New York right?"
He looked out the window and nodded having answered his own question. He figured once he went out Tyuki probably would've taken him somewhere more private. It may have only been minutes but that was the best sleep the hero had gotten in almost a decade.
"Here." Andrew snapped his finger and the end of Nate's smoke lit.
"I know this might be kinda awkward for you since I'm guessing you were assuming I was dead, but it's cool to see you again. Back in my less collected days I kinda almost blew up your sisters mansion. All things considered you were really cool about it."
He looked back over to Tyuki.
"Thank you for taking me somewhere that I wouldn't get soaked."
He looked around the apartment and once more nodded his head.
"Nice place guys."
The smell of the cigarette overpowered Andrew's nose a bit and gave him a small flashback of when the dragons were attacking him.
He was glad he didn't have a full blown panic attack as Nate seemed like the type of guy who would put it up on the internet.
"So I hate to address the elepha... rat in the room but I think we should have a chat with John."

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
Nathaniel's facial expression changed from one of disgust to one of pure interest.
"Oh, Ty, you're a floozy now?" Nate chuckled, patting his relative on the shoulder with the butt of his hand holding his zippo.
He went to go and try to light his cigarette again, and failed of course. It wasn't until Andrew gave him a light that the clove cigarette lit ablaze. The sweet smelling smoke rushed into Nate's lungs, enveloping him fully. He sighed, the smoke coming from his nose now.
"Ya kno, I remember ya, kiddo. You weren't as... full as you are now." Nate said, making a motion to how bulky Andrew was now, as well as his height. Nathaniel, of course, stood at a towering six feet and five inches - and he still hunched. He was all lean muscle, of course. His body was lithe, but well filled out. He had all the right things in all the right places.
Tyuki chewed her lower lip as she stood up, her hands already on her phone writing out a text to John before it was even brought up.
She wrote something simple, sweet, and easy:
'We're taking a break. Indefinitely.'
"Oh, yeah, our place is great," She said, motioning around. It was all clean, modernized, and quite nice. The apartment was just big enough for two people, and there was a guest room. Tyuki slid her own mask off now, and peeled off her gloves. She then pulled a hair tie from her wrist and tied her hair into a messy bun.
The curvaceous full body leotard hugged her proper, and her hair being up exposed even more of her amazing collarbone.
Furrowing his brow, Nathaniel couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable Andrew seemed in this instant. Crossing the living room, Nate opened up the doors to the balcony. The fresh air swept into the room, and his cigarette smoke crept out. It was his own apartment, but the look on Andrew's face made him feel like he was being rude.
It was weird when Nate found himself being the better guy.
Laughing out loud, Nate doubled over and coughed a bit. He had choked on his own spit because of the comment Andrew made.
"Rat, huh? Ahaha. Funny." Nate just shook his head and leaned on the frame of the door.
Tyuki blushed at the sudden mention of talking to John.
"I already handled it." She said, reassuring Andrew. She didn't show him her phone though. Not yet, at least.

Re: The Waves That Forced a Wedge
Smiling at Nate he turned his attention back to Tyuki.
"Honestly Ty, you'd laugh at the rat hole i'm in now. Nothing like our old Talons Base... In time though, I hope to get it back."
Turning back to Nate, he continued "I was gunna say snake but he kinda always smelled bad to me. Plus that stupid costume made him look like a hobo. I pretty much live in a closet but at least my get up does't scare children. We're super heroes."
With that he was done roasting Tyuki's soon to be ex boyfriend.
"Oh it's already done?" Andrew asked kinda shocked.
"Did you call him while I slept or something? What did he say? Was he angry?"
Andrew couldn't remember Forcewave ever expressing much emotion in the first place, and he must have known if Andrew ever came back this would happen, right?
As he awaited Tyuki's response he looked around the apartment.
"Must be nice. Having somewhere to call your own. I'm so sick of that motel. I wouldn't mind it if they cleaned up the place a bit, but my money situation isn't exactly letting me go elsewhere." he thought to himself.
He let her finish before asking them a question.
"Hey Tyuki, and Nate of course. Would it be ok if I stayed here just for tonight? I think I have a lot of catching up to do with Tyuki and my motel is on the other side of the city. I'll buy us a nice bottle of good ol' fashioned liquid good time. It's been too long since I shared a drink with familiar faces. I understand if I'm intruding and I'm sorry to ask. I don't know I just...."
He took Tyuki's and guided her to sit next to him on the couch.
"I just missed this."
